Product development cycles become shorter and shorter. The time from idea to market has become an important competitive factor. Despite this, methods used for making the product development process faster are surrounded with uncertainty about their efficiency. The purpose of the thesis is to describe the pros and cons of ?best practice? methods for shortening lead times and how these methods effect the lead times in research and development.

Inledningen beskriver bakgrunden till de val kring gästhamnsverksamheten på Marstrand som Kungälvs kommun idag står inför. Problemet delas därefter upp i sina separata beståndsdelar och en överblick över Marstrand, privat respektive kommunal drift samt båtturismen och dess utveckling ges läsare. I Metodavsnittet behandlas den kvalitativa fallstudieformen som valts för att undersöka Kungälvs kommuns möjligheter att utveckla Marstrands gästhamn genom att öka kunskapen kring driftsformer av gästhamnar i Skandinavien. Urvalet av gästhamnar preciseras och motiveras samt hur uppsatsförfattarna sökt uppnå god validitet och reliabilitet på uppsatsen. Den Teoretiska referensramen redogör för huvuddragen i Aktieägarperspektivet, Intressent?perspektivet samt Agent?Principalteorin som tillsammans ligger till grund för uppsatsens analys och slutsats. Empirin presenterar resultatet från den kartläggning som gjorts av urvalets respektive hamnar. En inblick i bland annat drifts? och ägarförhållanden, syftet med gästhamnsverksamheten, differentiering samt olika särdrag ges. I Analys och Slutsatskapitlen görs inledande en driftsövergripande analys som lyfter fram likheter och olikheter hamnarna.

The well-being of employees has become a key concept in the rhetoric of the company boards and business literature of today. There is however not much statistic evidence of a connection between economic results and the perceived working climate. This thesis sets out to investigate whether there is a positive correlation between economic results and working climate on a work group level. It also aims to study which specific working climate factors influence the results. In order to meet its purpose this thesis analyzes employee satisfaction questionnaire data and economic results from more than 300 work groups.

Uppsatsen är en fallstudie inspirerad av fenomenologi och baserad på elevernas upplevelser av undervisningsmetoder, innehåll och självuppfattning i relation till undervisningen. Studien syfte är att bidra med kunskap och insyn i elevernas egna upplevelser av undervisning. Ett annat syfte är att förstå hur undervisningsmetoder påverkar elevernas självkänsla.

In December 2004 an earthquake coursed waves that hit Thailand. Over 5000 people died, and Sweden was the tourist country that has been effected the worst. The catastrophe precipitated Sweden in crises and the demand became high for Swedish government to act. In theory, the management control of maintenance functions is described as problematic due to the nature of the work performed in the unit. The purpose of this thesis is to examine these predicted problems in practice. Further,the thesis aims at identifying how these control problems may affect the relationships between the maintenance department and its internal customers. A case study has been conducted in one of Sweden?s largest industrial companies to investigate the said control problems in practice.

Media has power and impact. It is therefore important for managers to be able to handle media storms when they arise. If not, the brand can be affected negatively. It is managers who should learn to handle media storms because the managers constitute an important part of the external face of the company. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to illustrate and problemize the consequences of the traditional male domination in film creation for a female director by critically examining the construction of the film director. Methodology: The study is based on a qualitative case study which was conducted as a participant observation.

Of all observable societal trends, the proliferation of standardizing processes is striking. Auditing standards are an illustrative example of this. Not only privately owned companies must today make available numbers and key figures to satisfy needs of information and knowledge. Government agencies are increasingly conforming to this trend, adopting standards for quality assurance and monitoring, producing numbers and annual reports ? despite their somewhat ambiguous task and role.

Purpose This thesis tries to create an understanding of how male homosexual entrepreneurs, both as persons and as a concept, relates to the fact that entrepreneurship, as well as the society as a whole, is heteronormative. Moreover, it examines by what methods the male homosexual entrepreneurs cope with the seemingly paradox of a homosexual man who also is an entrepreneur. Method The method has been qualitative from a social construction-point of view. We have made semi-structured interviews with nine male homosexual entrepreneurs and structured the findings from the interviews with a computer programme and mind mapping techniques. We have compared the structured findings with theories, in an abducting manner, to find out an answer to the purpose of this thesis.

During the last 20 years, the Swedish health care system has faced major changes. One of them is the increasing pressure to generate economic profit due to private businesses entering the market. Health care units are forced to make some structural changes in order to become effective and efficient. As a result merger and acquisitions has become a part of the health care sector, and seems to be an increasing phenomenon. Mergers and acquisitions have mainly been studied in the industry.

The term CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) is frequently discussed today. Many large companies work actively with CSR related questions. However, few empirical studies exist on what this work entails and why it is undertaken. Instead, most of the academic research focuses on what the term itself should mean. To bridge this gap this study centers on the employees? perceptions of CSR.

Uppsatsen utgår från ett litteratursociologiskt perspektiv, där speglingsteorin är en viktig del. Speglingsteorin innebär att man betraktar litteraturen som en spegling av samhället. Klassiska verk används till exempel som sociohistoriska källor till andra samhällen och epoker. Utgångspunkten för den här studien är att det inte enbart är de klassiska verken som utgör en sådan källa, utan att även dagens populärlitteratur kan ses som en länk till hur människor och samhälle fungerar. Den hypotes som driver uppsatsen är att litteraturen fyller en funktion för läsarna, nämligen att den tjänar som stöd och hjälp i människors liv.

Med syfte att undersöka knullnormativitetens diskurs, d.v.s. de sociala, språkliga konstruktioner som gör det vaginala heterosamlaget till norm, har jag diskursanalytiskt studerat frågor och svar kring sexuella praktiker och problem i RFSU:s frågelåda. Genom att undersöka hur heterosamlaget och annan praktik benämns och beskrivs i materialet har jag visat hur dess status reproduceras och ibland ifrågasätts. Föreställningarna om manlig och kvinnlig sexualitet påverkar i stor mån även hur samlaget och samlagsrelaterade problem beskrivs, och ibland även vad som uppfattas som problem. Jag har också visat exempel på motdiskurser som är tecken på tendens till diskursiv förändring.
