This degree projekt deals with Skanska´s safety at the construction site with focus on personal safety equipment. The purpose of this dissertation is to examine how the rules of personal safety equipment are applied and experienced at Skanska´s construction sites.In October 2004 Skanska started a projekt to make the construction sites more safe. With use of a questionnaire we have made a survey at different construction sites. 80 questionaires have been handed out to Skanska´s employees in the southeast region. While they were handed out we conrolled if the employees at Skanska´s construction sites used head protection, easy visible clothing, safety shoes and identification cards.The result of the survey shows how the rules are applied.

There has been an increasing interest for ranking of Swedish health care and a lot of emphasis has been placed on the creation of indicators in order to rank hospital units. However, essays on to what extent the choice of statistical method affects the final result of the ranking of health care units have not been given the same attention. For this particular reason, the main objective of this essay has been to investigate whether the choice of statistical model has a significant impact or not on the final result, by using five different, more or less common, statistical approaches: bar charts (with and without confidence intervals), control charts, logistic regression, multi-level analysis using shrunken residuals. The analyzed material in the essay comprises 24119 patients that all have been prescribed some form of the lipid-reducing medicine statin. According to directives given by Region Skåne, doctors are encouraged to prescribe a particular type of statin medicine, namely Simvastatin, which has been proved to be equally effective, but significantly cheaper than other statin medicines.

Ship formed monuments from the Late Bronze Age on the island of O?land, southeast Sweden, have never been thoroughly dealt with in previous research, despite the fact that the region is suggested to have had a key-role in maritime trade networks. This thesis aims to address the ship formed monuments on O?land in relationship to the monuments in northern Sma?land and the island of Gotland. My goal is to discuss how the ship symbolism was practised during the Late Bronze Age in Scandinavia from a new perspective.

The purpose of this masters thesis is to evaluate bookmobile service as a decentralised library service. I have made a qualitative interview survey, with seven Swedish municipalities participating, all providing bookmobile service in their rural parts. The purpose with the interviews is to examine their bookmobile service. I have also studied articles on bookmobile service, and decentralisation through small library units in library journals, to get an insight into how the work with decentralised library service is done in Swedish municipalities. In this thesis answer is sought to the following questions: - Which decentralised library services are suitable for inhabitants and institutions in sparsely populated areas, considering factors such as number of inhabitants, proportion of old people and children, demographic changes, economy, possibilities to cooperate with other municipalities? - What is the current bookmobile service situation in Sweden, taking seven municipalities in the region of Småland as a starting point? My conclusions are that each municipality must decide which decentralised library services that best suites their needs.

In 1997, the Swedish parliament adopted a decision on Vision Zero (nollvision) in the road and transport system. Vision Zero means that no one should be killed or seriously injured in traffic accidents in the road transport system (Prop. 2003/04: 160). For the Transport Administration in Sweden (Trafikverket), this means increased demands on security and signage at road work sites around the country. This in turn means increased demands on the contractors that carry out road work for the Transport Administration.

Närheten till Danmark och utvecklingen av Öresundsregionen har länge skapat positiva och dynamiska effekter för Skåne, med ökade investeringar och etableringar. Avståndet mellan Sverige och Danmark är kort vilket underlättar rörligheten för kapital, varor, tjänster och arbetskraft. På den svenska sidan om Öresund är den privata tjänstesektorn med högutbildad arbetskraft huvudsakligen koncentrerad till sydvästra delen av Skåne. Malmö är Sveriges tredje största stad med nästan 300 000 invånare, denna region är länets ekonomiska motor. Intill Malmö ligger Lund som är en av Sveriges största studieorter. Med omkring 30 000 studenter och 10 000 inflyttade varje år är det en snabbt växande stad.

Inom den växande turistnäringen är det viktigt för destinationer att marknadsföra sig på ett framgångsrikt sätt för att kunna hävda sig på den globala marknaden. Bra kommunikation till marknaden är därför ett viktigt konkurrensverktyg vid arbete med destinationsutveckling. Detta kan skapa fördelar på marknaden, inte minst för de regionala turistorganisationerna som arbetar med samverkan för ett större geografiskt område med många intressenter. Detta är ett arbete som dagligen genomsyrar en organisation såsom Jämtland Härjedalen Turism och problematiken med att skapa en gemensam kommunikationsplattform. För att vägleda dem i deras arbete har syftet med denna studie varit att undersöka hur regionala turistorganisationer kan använda sig av destinationsmarknadsföring för att bygga upp en effektiv kommunikation till marknaden.

Uppkomsten av NOSAM har sin grund i att dagens moderna samhällsutveckling mer eller mindre tvingar regioner att samarbeta för att stärka sin attraktionskraft gentemot omvärlden. Helt enkelt en ökad konkurrens. NOSAM innefattar ett regionalt område med tio olika medlemskommuner och befinner sig i en region som under de senaste 15 åren, mycket på grund av brobygget, genomgått en rad förändringar. För att kunna arbeta mot de omgivande regionala krafterna och öka sin attraktivitet har således ett samarbete skapats. Fördelen med nätverkssamarbete är att de, genom sina olika kompetenser, kan lösa uppgifter både på ett billigare och effektivare sätt.

A central discussion within society and businesses today, is the change of generations in the business market which occurs within the upcoming years. A change of generations is unavoidable and a natural step in business. The challenge of the forthcoming reform is the large number of people leaving the labour market and the grand entrance of new labour; Generation Y. The characteristics of Generation Y differ from the older generation which enhances the challenges for the businesses to attract a new workforce. It may also be necessary for the organisations to adapt to the younger generation.

 The aim and scope of this study is to describe the coordination of joint efforts concerning chemicals and hazardous substances in the Baltic Sea region, between the Swedish Chemicals Agency (KemI) and the land-based pollution group of the Helsinki Commission (HELCOM LAND). Based on the description of the coordination, the second aim is to discuss the consequences for the Swedish Chemicals Agency in its policy shaping work towards a nontoxic environment. A qualitative and descriptive case study method is used for this purpose. Theories of coordination and achievement-inducing criteria for environmental goals are applied to the case. Components and related processes of coordination are applied to the descriptive part of the study, whilst the achievement-inducing criteria are applied in the discussion.

Enligt Lagen om skydd mot olyckor är en av länsstyrelsens viktigare uppgifter inom verksamhetsområdet att bedriva tillsyn över kommunerna. Denna tillsyn ska syfta till att skapa en likvärdig utveckling och likvärdiga förhållande i hela landet med avseende på de lokala förhållandena.Detta examensarbete är konstruerat för att förbättra länsstyrelsen i västra Götalands region förmåga att genomföra tillsyn över kommunernas resultat av deras verksamhet inom LSO.Detta görs genom att skapa en ny kommungruppering, inhämtning av relevant information över tätorterna, utveckla tillsynen över kommunernas resultat samt ta fram en presentationsmodell som ska användas vid tillsynsbesök.En ny kommungruppering har tagits fram genom att tillämpa betygsättningen som genereras ur tillsynsmodellen som har skapats från Myndigheten för samhällsskydd och beredskap. Ett dokument med faktauppgifter över risker, befolkning, offentliga, ? privata verksamheter och förmåga att genomföra räddningsinsatser över samtliga tätorter i länet har tagits fram. Tillsyn över kommunens resultat har utvecklats genom att ta fram nya och utveckla de befintliga faktorerna inom skydd och säkerhet.

Ronneby flygplats är en flottiljflygplats som ägs och drivs av försvarsmakten och som är öppen för civil trafik. Flygplatsen är lokaliserad i Kallinge strax norr om Ronneby tätort i Blekinge län. Flygplatsens tillgänglighet med allmänna kommunikationer är idag begränsade. Syftet med studien har varit att analysera och karaktärisera Ronneby flygstationsområde samt bidra med förbättringsförslag till hur flygplatsens tillgänglighet kan öka. Analyser har genomförts för att försöka ge en god helhetsbild av planområdet och dess omgivning samt de olika faktorer som spelar in.

Denna studie syftar till att fo?rsta? chefers relationer till sina medarbetare och hur de konstruerar en offentlig och privat sfa?r. Studien vill med hja?lp av chefers egna upplevelser fo?rsta? hur cheferna balanserar na?rhet och distans i sina relationer till medarbetarna. En kvalitativ ansats har valts och fem chefer inom den offentliga sektorn har intervjuats om sina upplevelser av att skapa relationer till medarbetare.
