Construction waste from the housing industry includes all unnecessary consumption of building materials. The definition of construction waste is construction materials that has not been built in and becomes waste. Constructions waste can be divided into two types of contributions: operational and work site contribution. Some of the common construction materials in housing industry have such low usage level as 75 % and the rest becomes construction waste. Low usage of construction materials creates unnecessary costs and has a major environmental impact.

Purpose of the essay: The purpose of the essay is to, from the view of the nurses working at the x-ray infirmary; see how the internal e-mail communication is working as the main digital communication method at the x-ray infirmary.Material/Method: The material has been collected using qualitative interviews with eight nurses working at the x-ray infirmary. The material has then been analyzed through a theoretical perspective based on The Media Richness theory.Main results: The results of the investigation have shown that the nurses see the internal e-mail communication as relatively poor. The information that is sent out by their superiors is often too extensive, this making the screening work an extra work burden. These e-mails are also supplied to the whole infirmary instead of being addressed to specific individuals. Seen through a media richness perspective, the e-mail is a mediumrich communication medium that well could be used in the everyday communication at the infirmary as the main communication agent.

GE Healthcare operates in Uppsala (Sweden) and develops systems, equipments and medium to purify medical substances. Discussions with the local authority concerning planed far-reaching changes and upgrades of the biological process techniques for sewage management, aroused the question about revising the terms of permit for the activity. Therefore it seemed necessary to evaluate a newly installed biological process technique, which is the background of this thesis. The evaluated biological treatment process was built in 2003 and consists of a biological reactor filled with moving bed carriers with a high surface area for biological growth. At the time of the project the biological wastewater treatment plant consisted of a flow equalization facility and two following parallel biological processes; a biological reactor with moving bed carriers and a tower trickling filter.The aim of this thesis was to survey the function of the biological reactor with respect to the reduction of organic matter.

Julia Rolandsdotter, Idéer om samhÀlle och individ: Abortdebatten under 1960- och 1970-tal med inriktning pÄ realpolitik och ideologi, Uppsala Universitet: Institutionen för idé- och lÀrdomshistoria, C-uppsats, HT 2013.This essay aims to investigate and scrutinize the debate surrounding abortion during the years of 1964 and 1974 respectively. By analyzing elements of different opinions in the debate from daily press, a wide range of aspects concerning the issues of free abortion have been distinguishable. This analysis shows that the abortion debate was, to a high degree, a question of Realpolitik and ideology whereas the differences over time have been visible rather than the differences between parties of varying opinion. By applying the theories of Ian Hacking concerning the effects of categorization, ideas surrounding people and society among others, have been highlighted in the debate. In 1964 we see ideas about the woman as motherly or a victim and the society as defective or exposed among other factors.

This article starts with a review of the literature regarding the normal reproductive physiology of the mare, prolonged luteal phase and medical drugs used within reproduction of the horse, with emphasis on OvuplantÂź. The purpose of this article was to measure the progesterone level in blood, of mares implanted with deslorelin acetate (OvuplantÂź). The study was performed at the Department of Clinical Sciences, SLU, in Uppsala. There were seven mares included in the study. They were divided into two groups, one experimental group (four mares) and one control group (three mares).

B Locket AB is a large ad-company from Sweden, located in Stockholm.Search engines on the market today are becoming more and more complex. When they were first introduced, they only had one function and that was to produce search results containing the string that the user had typed. Today, users want it to be able to spellcheck, produce more results and sort search results on specific fields as well. Preferably, all these features should not affect the performance as a whole.The reason to why these demands have come up is that users are getting more and more used to internet services as a whole and they want everything to be as easy as possible.The user ability has become a substantially more important area in the computer industry and this needs to be taken into account when it comes to B Locket AB and its search engine.

Den hÀr uppsatsen besvarar frÄgan om hur den svenska bredbandsstrategin Àr tÀnkt att förverkligas och hur ansvarsfördelningen ser ut mellan de inblandade aktörerna. Uppsatsen undersöker Àven mer specifikt hur ansvarsfördelningen och hanteringen ser ut gÀllande inkludering och exkluderingen vid deltagandet i byanÀten. För att kunna besvara syftet utförs en fallstudie i Uppsala lÀn dÀr fyra stycken kvalitativa intervjuer genomförs med de inblandade parterna: LÀnsstyrelsen, Tierps kommun, Lidén Data Gruppen samt ett byalag i MÄnkarbo. Det genomförs Àven en diskursanalys pÄ utvalda dokument publicerade av regeringen. Detta för att se om landsbygdsborna, i bredbandsutbyggnaden, tillskrivits nÄgon roll och i sÄ fall Àven hur den rollen motiveras.

Bolognaprocessen Àr en av de största förÀndringarna inom universitetsvÀrlden under senare Är.I sin ursprungsform syftar den till att frÀmja rörligheten och frÀmja anstÀllningsbarhet inom Europa, samt att frÀmja Europas konkurrenskraft och attraktionskraft som utbildningskontinent. För de enskilda universitetens del innebar denna förÀndring framförallt införandet av en ny masterexamen, ett nytt poÀngsystem samt införandet av nya mÄl för varje kurs. Vi har i denna studie valt att beskriva och förklara hur införandet av Bolognasystemet har gÄtt till pÄ Företagsekonomiska institutionen vid Uppsala universitet. Dessutom undersökte vi om det inom lÀrarkÄren pÄ institutionen har funnits tecken pÄ förÀndringsmotstÄnd. Med hjÀlp av en kvalitativ undersökning genomförd genom personliga intervjuer fann vi att man frÄn institutionens sida har försökt involvera de anstÀllda i förÀndringen, framförallt genom anvÀndandet av arbetsgrupper.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the support program, given to cancer patients in order to promote their own efforts to quit smoking and to study if they kept their changed cigarette consumption 6-18 months after their cancer treatment was done.Method: We have used a descriptive qualitative method with semistructured interviews which were made in the spring of 2010 at Uppsala University. The informants in this study were smoking cancer patients which had been given radiotherapy at the oncology department at Ryhov hospital in Jönköping, Sweden.The results showed that three out of eleven informants were still not smoking after their treatment ended. All informants agreed that information about the effects of smoking on their radiotherapy were important.This study also showed that there are areas in which the support program could benefit from being changed. Of those informants who did not succeed in their efforts to quit smoking, many felt that the support should have been more direct in the sense that the staff should have followed up on their progress more frequently. These unsuccessful informants also stressed that the location for where the information was given could have been more private.

This work is intended primarily for animal nurses/veterinary technicians and describe parts of the rabbits digestive tract, causes of gastrointestinal disease, symptoms, diagnosis, general care of rabbits with gastrointestinal disease and how to prevent that gastrointestinal illness occur. The work is largely based on literature studies but also on a questionnaire sent out to rabbit owners to get answers on how they generally hold and care of rabbits, which gastrointestinal diseases that are most common, how owners care for their animals at home during illness and to examine if the owners think that the knowledge of this subject is good at his veterinarian/clinic.The purpose of this work is to improve the skills of animal nurses but also to improve the skills of owners through competent advice from animal nurses.The result show that gastrointestinal disease often is caused due to improper feeding and care of rabbits and therefore is advices from animal nurses an important part of preventive care. Animal nurses are also an important part of treatment of rabbits with gastrointestinal disease when supportive care as fluid therapy, supportive feeding and supply of a stress free environment is important for the animals to recover..
