During the later parts of the 20th century there occurred several changes to the Swedish public sector. These changes aimed to effectivize and decentralize the governance model in the public sector. One of these changes was the municipalization of the school system, put forward and proposed by the social democratic government in the late 1980s and early 1990s. This study aims to examine and compare that times different parliamentary parties' opinions on the municipalization of the school system. The source material consists of government bills, and in direct relation to the municipalization of the school system.

Modern societies are generally becoming increasingly capitalist in nature and economies of these societies are thus likely to become more focused on consumer consumption. Advertising plays a vital role in contemporary society where we, as consumers and citizens, are surrounded by it everywhere we look and everywhere we go. This puts pressure on advertisers to become more creative and to explore new ways of marketing their products and services in an already saturated environment. We believe that the added pressure and the already established role of marketing in society make advertisements an interesting and telling object for analysis. This essay examines the 1962 Swedish parliamentary debate preluding the proposition to introduce a uniform compulsory education for all Swedish children. The proposition aimed at ending the previously heterogeneous educational system and replace it with a more equal and democratic system.A widespread debate ensued, regarding the status of Christian religious education (kristendomskunskap) and its new emphasis on scientific objectivity. This essay will examine the relative position of Christianity within the new uniform school system, as it was articulated by the members of the Swedish parliament. This analysis will be achieved through the use of a discourse analytical study of the parliamentary records, the recorded motions and bills. From these records a substantial disparity in the parliamential members articulation of the concept of Christianity can be ascertained, even within the discourse of an educational regime.

White- and blue collar workers traditionally belong to different unions and, therefore, are covered by different collective agreements. Collective agreements for different employee categories create internal divisions, which mean that white collar workers are not obliged to do work that falls under a blue collar agreement and reversed. Historically the difference between white- and blue collar work has been fairly sharp and so has the difference between collective agreements. Studien syftade också till att analysera hur regeringen och utredarna avser att styra verksamheten i gymnasieskolan mot ökad genomströmning och måluppfyllelse samt vad detta kan få för specialpedagogiska implikationer.Frågeställningar: - Vilka subjektspositioner för elever i behov av särskilt stöd framträder i proposition 2008/09:199 och SOU 2008:27?- Hur formuleras villkoren för specialpedagogisk verksamhet i proposition 2008/09:199 och SOU 2008:27?- Vad innebär dessa subjektspositioner och villkor för elever i behov av särskilt stöd och för specialpedagogisk verksamhet i Gymnasieskola-11?Teori och Metod:Studien är en diskursanalys där teori och metod är sammanflätade. Det empiriska materialet bestod av två för Gymnasieskola -11 centrala policytexter. Materialet analyserades med hjälp av Laclau och Mouffes analysverktyg nodalpunkt och ekvivalenskedja samt utifrån Foucaults teorier om makt och styrning.Resultat: Studiens resultat visar att texterna möjliggör ett antal subjektspositioner för elever i Gymnasieskola -11 varav eleven som anställningsbar, framtida arbetskraft kan sägas vara den övergripande.
