Jag minns när man som liten var på besök hos mormors föräldrar i deras lägenhet i Sundbyberg. I vardagsrummet eller salongen hade de en figurin i glaskupa, där satt jag alltid och stirrade, försvann in i fantasins värld, iakttog scenariot med musicerande män i peruk och den sirliga färgrika vegetationen. Figuriner avbildar oftast människor eller djur, noggrant utarbetade, i en idealisk värld. Ett fryst ögonblick där allt är i harmoni, stråkarna ljuder och rusdrycken flödar i salongen, bönderna drar sina kärror och skördar glatt, människor och djur lever i symbios med varandra och naturen. En skönmålning som både innehåller och saknar problematik men är samtidigt en intressant tradition där jag kan frossa i referenser och uttryck, kitschiga motiv och inkonsekventa koncept. .

Problem: När predikan ges inom islam eller katolicismen tillåts och förväntas att både kvinnor och män deltar under islams fredagsbön och den katolska kyrkans mässa på söndagar. Dock tillåts inte kvinnor att leda denna kollektiva bön utan exkluderas från möjligheten att ta upp och diskutera samhällsorienterade ämnen med utgångspunkt från liturgi och heliga skrifter. Detta upplevs som ett problem och ett flertal progressiva kvinnor och män världen över börjar ifrågasätta denna ordning och vill få till en förändring där man och kvinna har lika möjligheter och rättigheter inför Gud.Syfte: Syftet med denna uppsats är att studera de argument som framförs av företrädare för en konservativ diskurs och med företrädarna för en feministisk diskurs när det gäller frågan om kvinnliga religiösa ledare under gemensam bön inom islam och katolicismen.Metod: Komparativ litteraturstudie i kombination med hermeneutisk metod.Teoretisk referensram: Liberalfeminism, makt, konservativ och feministisk diskurs.Resultat: De feministiska argumenten är ett samtida fenomen som utgår från ett universellt betänkande om lika möjligheter och rättigheter för kvinnor och män. Feministerna kräver en omtolkning av de heliga skrifterna utifrån ett icke-androcentriskt förhållningssätt för att påvisa sin retorik.Den konservativa diskursen utgår från patriarkaliska och traditionella argument där de stödjer sig på enskilda passager i de heliga skrifterna och apostelisk tradition för att exkludera kvinnor.Uppsatsen påvisar att nätverk, ärvda titlar och tradition betyder mer än kunskap i det religiösa sammanhanget. This study examines how yoga is presented in a Swedish journal called Sökaren. Sweden is often presented as one of the most secular states in the world, and for that reason it is interesting to examine the Swedish way of religiosity by looking, in this case, at the depiction of yoga. I compare two periods of time, the first one from 1964 to 1974 and the latter from 1998 to 2008. I will thereby be able to examine tendencies and changes in the presentation of yoga. For a further understanding of the context around the elected periods this study introduces religiosity in Swedish society, such as Christianity and the New Age movement.

The wild boar Sus scrofa population in Sweden has increased rapidly in the last decades which has led to conflicts among stakeholders, for example due to crop damages in agriculture. Thus, there is an urgent need of quantified goals and effective strategies for wild boar management. To develop such strategies, knowledge on population dynamics is fundamental. In this study a deterministic matrix model was used to estimate population growth, based on previously published data. The exponential growth rate for a wild boar population was calculated to 1.48.

The vision of this thesis was to create a concept that can be used as a base for amachine construction. The purpose of this project was to use different methods todevelop a concept that on the best way meets the sat up requirements. This projecthas been divided into three stages/parts; principle, primary and the final solutionstage.This thesis has been conducted in collaboration with Västkustägg AB. It is aconstruction project designed to construct a machine that will automatically putlabels on the egg packages. Västkust AB wanted to automate this process.

Syftet med vår magisteruppsats är att ta reda på hur några mindre företag i olika branscher har uppfyllt sina informationsbehov för den interna styrningen samt att undersöka vilka faktorer som begränsar företagens utformning av redovisning för intern styrning. Samtliga företag vi har studerat har någon form av internredovisning, även om den inte alltid är så formaliserad. Endast de två företag som har den mest utvecklade internredovisningen är själva missnöjda med hur de uppfyller sina informationsbehov. De begränsande faktorer vi har identifierat är kostnad, tid, verktyg, intresse, tradition, kunskap, nytta, tillväxtambitioner och rådgivning. Bristande kunskap verkar dock vara den bakomliggande orsaken till samtliga..

The thesis was performed at Forsmarks Kraftgrupp AB in the department ofmechanical engineering, FTCM. Forsmark nuclear power plant has had problems with cracks in some of the controlrods which are placed in the reactor at Forsmark 3. To investigate the cause of this,material samples were taken from five of the damaged control rods. This sampling ofthe rods resulted too short rods to be transported in the shipping container to theinterim storage facility for used nuclear fuel in Oskarshamn. Control rods are crucial components in a nuclear reactor, regulating the reactoreffect by blocking or unblocking fuel rods. Control rods which have been in thereactor are always handled under water in order to protect against the radiation theyemit. The task was to design a control rod adapter that extends the control rod sotransport can be performed from Forsmark. The goal of the work was a complete setof blueprints so the control rod adapter can be manufactured and mounted on theshort control rods and then be transported to the interim storage facility. The work began with mapping of how control rods normally being handled from thereactor to the interim storage facility.

During the spring semester of 2009 I have participated in what was to become the project The Allotment Plot; a collaboration between the Swedish University of Agriculture and the Wanås Foundation. As one of six students in landscape architecture I have experienced a group based learning process with the point of departure in the designing of an organic and experimental kitchen garden at Wanås, a sculpture park for contemporary art. The project came out as neither us nor any other of the people engaged could have guessed. What was meant to be a garden turned out to become an entire cultivation movement. As students, we have gained a lot of experience through praxis; experience that will be valuable for our future profession. The project has also opened up the possibility to question and reflect upon what our profession and education could or should be about. This thesis focuses on the role of communication and the production of communicative tools in design processes and landscape architectural practice. It discusses how communication may be used in an exploratory and ?un-securing? way, and how this may dislocate the professional role, especially in situations where the design action, as in the case of this study, demands a high degree of transdisciplinarity and collaboration. .

This essay seeks to analyze the consequences of modern information and communication technology for collective action within the framework of social movements. With references to the protests in Seattle 1999, the essay argues that the emergence of distributed collective action is closely related to the use of technology, for example cell phones and Internet. This distributed collective action can be characterized by its decentralized and self-organizing features, forming a global pattern emerging from local interactions. Whereas contemporary theories of collective action can be ´stretched´ to fit these aspects, they lack analytical tools to describe and analyze such systems. Further, their rejection of classical crowd theory is problematic, since it contains valuable insights.

The mental health has during the recent years decreased among Swedish adolescents while theinternet has become a common tool for communication between people. Aim: The overall aim is toidentify the relationship between internet use among adolescents and their mental health. Method:A literature based study within a defined research field. Result: The scientific hypotheses whichexist is based on whether social capital increase or decrease due to internet use. The healthoutcome is positively affected by internet communication, especially for boys and socially anxiousadolescents.

During an excavation at Old Uppsala 571 raw garnets was found. In comparison with similar fragments from other sites in Sweden my aim was to prove a completely domestic production of garnets for cloisonné work. I have chosen to look at the archaeological sites of Old Uppsala, Valsta, Slöinge and Paviken and more closely at the material from Old Uppsala and Valsta. My theoretical framework has been to look at the garnets own agency in the contemporary society.Garnet cloisonné was a popular jewellery form during the Merovingian period on the continent although it came to an end in the early 7th century. It was during this time in Scandinavia a new sort of garnet, technique and paste was introduced and the garnet cloisonné was profoundly used for the gear of the elite and ritual objects.

Social workers in this study describes various experiences of the assessments of interventions for children and adolescents. Social workers experience of the many different situations where an assessment of best effort must be made on the basis of BBIC, which is the Social Services investigation records. To make this assessment, the Social workers need social assistance and support of their colleagues and manager. Knowledge mixed with experience is also an important part when it comes to being professional and not let emotions control that could otherwise be happened when the social worker meets and builds relationships with clients. Social workers are also those who will decide which achievement the client needs from the needs.

This study has the purpose to reveal whether gender stereotypes are manifested or challenged in the children comic Bamse - världens starkaste björn based on six different stories widespread over 40 years. The results will be studied in the light of the contemporary gender development in society and emanate from theories about power, discourse, representation, queer and gender. An eclectic analysis based on semiotics and critical discourse analysis will be the method to reveal the underlying gender perspective in Bamse. The conclusion of the study shows an ambiguous perspective in the comic where both men and women occasionally are represented in a manifested as well as a challenged stereotypical role. In some of the stories the gender is erased and all characters are represented based on their individual attributes instead, meanwhile in some stories men are represented as active heroes while women are portrayed as passive nurturer.
