Att styra ett kommunalt bolag
There is an irregularity in the interregional migration in Sweden. An increasing proportion ofthe population is drawn to the metropolitan areas, which creates problems for the smallermunicipalities and Towns when their population declines. At the same time, our whole societyis faced with a great challenge: we need to redirect towards a sustainable development, wherethe environmental issues are discussed and dealt with to secure that all present and futuregenerations are given equal opportunities to live a good life. The aim of this study is to, focusing mainly on the environmental dimension of thesustainability concept, examine the attractivity of housing with sustainability claims. Toanswer this, three research questions were used:? Was the migration motive to reduce their environmental impact a part of the decision tomove, among migrants who had moved to housing with sustainability claims?? If the motive was a part of the decision, how much impact did it have compared to othermigration motives?? Which factors in housing aiming at sustainability are considered important by peopleliving in housing with sustainability claims? The research questions have been answered using quantitative data, gained in the form of selfadministeredquestionnaires which were distributed in four different residential areas withsustainability claims in the county of Västra Götaland, Sweden.

Tr?stadens dolda utrymmen: fasader i husens mellanrum som kulturhistoriskt k?llmaterial
This thesis explores the narrow spaces between closely built houses in the over 300-year-old wooden
town center of Mariestad, Sweden, and their potential as time capsules and sources of knowledge in
cultural-historical building investigations. By interpreting well-preserved carpentry work on a facade
in one of these spaces, the study aims to provide an example of how these preserved spaces can serve
as a source of knowledge and understanding of craftsmanship and the history of the place. The thesis
also addresses the municipality of Mariestad's work with cultural heritage, as well as maps out more of
these potentially interesting interstitial spaces. Old Swedish wooden Towns possess a high degree of
uniqueness both nationally and internationally; nevertheless, they are subjected to relatively significant
threats of demolitions and substantial changes, often in the form of many smaller restorations or
changes over a long period of time.
The focus of the case study is a window from the 16th or 17th century and the facade's old, hand planed wooden cladding.

Health and convenience trends dominate the food industry and retailing business of today.
The health consciousness is spreading while appealing product attributes concerning taste and
packaging also are increasingly important. At the same time, the competition is growing fierce
in the Swedish market with hard discount formats and niche concepts who also are trying to
provide the market with perishables. Therefore, the pressure to lower prices is increasing
making economies of scale and rationalization progressively more important.
In 2004, ICA launched private label meat packaged in a modified atmosphere. Consequently,
many stores went from in-store cutting-up and packaging to selling centrally packaged and
distributed meat. ICA is now developing a concept with fresh fish in modified atmosphere
packages and needs to increase the knowledge about the market and the consumer.
Samverkan och dialog i landsbygdens landskap :
Abstract
The planning of landscapes and Towns has changed from a top-to-bottom perspective, including a focus on common interests, towards an inclusion of dialogue between planners and inhabitants of the planning area. In the countryside areas there are many interests which could be incorporated in such a dialogue. Still, the landowners have the final right to make the decisions for his or her property. The purpose of this paper is to examine how a dialogue for countryside development works and could be working, what participators of such dialogues are thinking about their right to direct and transform the landscape, and which roles the planners may take in such a context. With this background in mind, I also look back into the history with the intention to understand the situation of today.
