Den tilltagande urbaniseringen har medfört att hamn- och industriområden som tidigare låg i stadens perifera områden har fått en alltmer central plats. Från att ha fungerat som industristäder där denna verksamhet varit en integrerad och vital katalysator för staden håller samhället nu på att övergå från industrisamhälle till kunskapssamhälle där arbetet förflyttats från förorenade och bullriga industrimiljöer till rena och tysta bostads- och kontorsmiljöer. I takt med detta minskar också behovet av centralt belägna industriområden som nu blivit mer ödsliga, otrygga och stadsfrånvända där de inte sällan bildat en barriär mot sin omgivning. Samtidigt är det idag för oss människor inte lika självklart som tidigare genom historien att använda stadens offentliga rum och det pågår mycket planering för att skapa integrerade, attraktiva och levande stadsmiljöer vid stadsomvandlingar. En problematik som uppstår är hur dessa industriområden kan omvandlas från centrala men avskilda, ödsliga och ofta stadsfrånvända industrimiljöer till funktionsblandade, attraktiva och levande stadsdelar som är väl integrerade med sin omgivning. Arbetets syfte är undersöka hur Lövholmen kan omvandlas från en avskild industrimiljö till en funktionsblandad och levande stadsdel som är väl integrerad i sin omgivning.

The topic of this paper is tuberculosis, especially in regard to the sanitarium movement and the efforts that were made to cure, ease and stop the spreading of the disease. The sanitarium movement was established in the late 19th century before any effective cure for the disease had been found. At this time the only treatment for the patients were fresh air, rest and good food. The paper analyses the case books for some of the patients at the sanitarium Lugnet which was situated close to the Swedish town Växjö in order to see if the treatment of the patients differed depending on gender. The result of the inquiry suggests that there were no difference in the treatment of men and women..

I denna uppsats undersöktes tre kommuners arbete med hållbarhet i översiksplanen. Det finns ett problem idag att hållbar utveckling är ett vardagsord som riskerar att förlora sin innebörd pga. de många olika tolkningarna och angreppssätt. Om begreppet är så pass vagt som många påstår, hur hanteras det då i översiktsplanen, vilken ska leda kommunens framtida markanvändning? I uppsatsen undersöktes Trelleborg, Helsingborg och Lund kommuns översiktsplan.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att studera och jämföra hur jämställdhet behandlas i trafikplaneringen i Västra Götaland på olika planeringsnivåer. Bakgrunden till valet av syfte är att jämställdhet är ett ämne som ofta glöms bort inom stadsplanering. Genom att medvetet planera och utveckla den bebyggda miljön finns möjlighet att påverka det dagliga livet för många människor, bland annat genom att möjliggöra för jämställdhet. Jämställdhetsarbete är ett demokratiskt arbete som stärker mänskliga värden och jämlika förhållanden, vilket visar vikten av att arbeta för att uppnå ett samhälle där män och kvinnor har lika värde. I trafikpolitiska mål är jämställdhet ett område som har lyfts upp starkt under senare tid och intresset för jämställdhet inom transportsektorn ökar. 2001 förstärktes jämställdhetsperspektivet i de transportpolitiska målen.

This report is a result of a project that been conducted on System Andersson. System Andersson sells and develops MPS-systems for small and medium sized manufacturing companies. System Andersson are today located in the central parts of Jönköping and has about 20 employees. The goal for the project is to develop a new version of Andersson Qwick mps. The project has been divided into a number of smaller projects were the authors been part of the planning module project.

Det finns idag en påtaglig bostadsbrist i Stockholmsområdet och detta samtidigt som regionen förväntas få en kraftig inflyttning de kommande tjugo åren. Krav finns på kommunerna att friställa byggbar mark för ny bostadsbebyggelse. Detta arbete konkritiserar problemet genom en fallstudie av gammal industrimark som snart kommer att friställas för bostads- och verksamhetsbebyggelse. Fallstudien görs på Bergs oljehamn i Nacka kommun. Under det senaste decenniet har nyexploatering av hamnmark skett nationellt i Sverige liktväl som regionalt i Stockholmsregionen. När staden växer uppstår behov av centralt belägen mark för nyexploatering, där hamnarnas tidigare perifera läge nu blivit centralt belägna. Arbetet har undersökt förhållandet mellan typologi och de specifika kvalitéer de för med sig och hjälper till att förstärka på platsen.

The aim of this Master's thesis is to examine the ways in which culture and cultural policy are being articulated in the process of Lund's application to become Sweden's European Cultural Capital of 2014.I have used Dorte Skot-Hansen's three cultural political rationalities: the humanistic-, the sociological- and the instrumental rationality, as well as and Jenny Johannisson's extension of those into three cultural-political discourses, as sensitizing concepts in my analysis. The questions raised are: How are the three rationalities/discourses articulated in the chosen central documents and in the process surrounding them? Which themes and arguments dominate the chosen documents?The main objects of my study have been four texts that have been produced in the applicationprocess: a Prestudy, a Plan of action, a Broschure and a Cultural policy. Along with them local political protocols, newspaper articles and other related material have been used. The research method applied was a qualitative eclectical textual analysis with emphasis on the content and on tracing the way the rationalities were expressed in the material.The rationalities were all found to be articulated in the four texts.

I detta examensarbete fokuseras staden, planen och marknaden. Mer konkret behandlas den offentliga planeringens makt i relation till marknadskrafter i den fysiska planeringen. Detta tema formuleras utifrån iakttagelser från samtiden och underbyggs sedan med svensk och internationell forskning. De huvudsakliga frågeställningarna handlar om 1, den offentliga planeringens användning av det kommunala planmonopolet, 2, hur olika aktörer agerar i planprocessen, samt 3, om förhandlingar påverkar utfallet i planprocessen. Undersökningen genomförs som en enfallsstudie av en aktuell planprocess, en planprocess där just relationer mellan offentliga och privata aktörer förväntats. Fallet som undersöks är processen kring omvandlingen av Norra Backa i Borlänge.

The purpose of this paper is to make an analysis of the urban Roman water system. I have chosen to work with the system as a general field, not as a case study of a single town. In my opinion such a study would not give a proper and fair view of the subject. Therefore, this paper will discuss the different parts of the system, each one for itself and name examples wherever possible, to give a wide survey of the reality of the Roman water supply system. The aim is to give the reader a clear picture of different solutions used in the time of the early Roman Empire and a good understanding of the subject..

This paper is finishing part of the two-year master programme in Industrial Engineering and Management.Initially there was an inquiry of studying the queue-times that Fläkt Woods uses when they break down internal working orders. These times were assumed to be too generalised and does not apply to the actual value of the queue-times which generates incorrect data and delivery delays. During the work of this paper it has been established that it is not the queue-times that is the biggest problem. The problem is the shop floor control and the lack of manufacturing the right products at the right time. Therefore an analysis of the production planning process was made to bring forward the real problems.

The aim of this thesis is to investigate how a valuation model of a Private Equity firm is interpreted into a management control system within the company's different organizational levels. A case study was developed based on the infra-net company Eltel. The management control systems developed by Malmi and Brown (2008)(1) was used to characterize the control systems at each organizational level. The building blocks of this system are planning, cybernetic, reward/compensation, administrative and culture. Miller and O'Learys (2007)(2) theory of mediating instruments and technology roadmaps was applied to analyze the mediating process of the valuation model.
