Academica är ett stadsbyggnadsförslag för området längs Valhallavägens östra del mellan Roslagstull och korsningen Valhallavägen/Odengatan. Bakom förslaget står Stockholmsbyggmästarna och Utopia Arkitekter. Platsen har identifierats av Stockholmsstad som ställer sig positiva till att utvecklaområdet. I samband med NorraLänkens färdigställande år 2015 förväntas trafikmängden minska och transport av farligt gods kommer inte längre att tillåtas på Valhallavägen. Detta kommer att göra det möjligt att utveckla området och inte minst att bebygga det med bostäder.

AbstractAt Saltvikens copperindustry, which is located in the municipality of Oskarshamn, copper was refined from sulphiteore some hundred years ago. The ore underwent several steps in the process before the final product was received. These steps all had an influence on the environment through discharge of heavy metals. The area where the copper industry was located is today considered to be of specific national interest due to its valuable nature and cultural values, as well as its value for recreational outdoor activities. Therefore, it is important to determine the present level of contamination and if any transport of contaminants have occurred, and to identify the risks that are associated with the site both at present and in a longer time perspective.Thirtynine soil samples and 16 sediment samples have been analyzed.

SEP Modular Armoured Tactical System is the next generation of military vehicles developedby BAE Systems Hägglunds AB. At present time, BAE Systems Hägglunds AB aredeveloping a 6-wheel electrical hybrid and a conventional 8-wheel vehicle. The questionformulation was summarized as: ?In which ways can the electrical transmission in a hybriddriveline for SEP be designed, when the surrounding fixed interfaces are kept and the unity ofcomponents within SEP is maximized??. The purpose of this master thesis was to study avariety of concepts for hybrid propulsion.

The purpose of this report is to investigate and compare the difference between stand-thinning machines and strip-road thinning machines, and how they affect the stand on behalf of future growth, theoretical economic result, wind impact, snow pressure and density of stand. The investigation is regarding the first commercial thinning of pine stands, after pre-commercial thinning that was well conducted. The investigation area was located near Katrineholm, Sweden. The measurements that were measured were strength of thinning and amounts of wind throws, snow-breaks and hauling damages. The results that emerged, was that thinning with strip-road machines had a significantly higher strength of thinning over all, as compared with the stand- thinning machines (45 percent versus 30 percent). Comparisons between wind-throws, snow-breaks and hauling damages of the stand could not establish any significant differences between the two methods that were investigated. Conclusions, over all, were that if forest owners want to have more timber volume left for second thinning and final cut of the stand, the forest owners should choose the method with stand-thinning machines. From the point of view of gentle treatment of the stand and ground damages the choice should be the same. However, the method with strip-road thinning machines is the most common and accessible method in Sweden. Most likely it is the most economical way to manage the stand for forest owners in present time. If the method with stand-thinning machines is becoming more common in Sweden, it is suggested for forest owners to consider the stand-thinning method as a candidate for treatment due to economic aspects..

AbstractThe future of ethanol is depending on good solutions for the production. ENA energy power plant produces electrical power and district heating by heating biofuel. By building an integrated bioenergy plant surplus steam could be used to produce ethanol as fuel to vehicle.This would mean that ethanol is produced renewable energy and the energy for the process derives from the surplus of power.  ENA energy, MDH (the University of Mälardalen) and the energy authority has initiated a research project were different bioenergy combinations integrate with existing power plant.  As a part of the project which size an integrated factory should be to gain the best efficiency for the plant was investigated. Consideration will be taken to the cost of the production in order to be competitive to the price of imported ethanol.  Etanolens framtid vilar på bra lösningar för framställning.  I ENA energi kraftverk i Enköping produceras el och fjärrvärme genom eldning av biobränsle.  Genom att bygga ett integrerat bioenergikraftverk där skulle man kunna använda överskottsånga till att framställa etanol som fordonsbränsle.

Den 30:e september 1998 mottog Konkurrensverket ett klagomål ifrån Braathens Sverige AB, enligt vilket SAS (Scandinavian Airline System) anklagades för att på olika samverkans förfarande missbrukat sin dominerande ställning på den svenska inrikesflygmarknaden. Syftet med min undersökning är att försöka introducera och att arbeta med olika inlärningsstilar, utvärdera om eleverna blivit uppmärksammade på vilket sätt de lär sig bäst, det vill säga vilken/vilka som är deras starkaste preferens/er. Undersökningen genomfördes med gymnasielever i årskurs tre inriktningar Transport, vårterminen 2011. Via en stilenkät utsågs tio försökspersoner av eleverna. De fick genomföra en lektion, som utformats utifrån inlärningsstilar. Slutligen blev eleverna intervjuade. Man kan inte bara syfta på en inlärningsstil.

The work that is the basis of this Master Thesis was performed on Scania´s group of cabdevelopment, and concerns the GPS-system in Scania´s trucks. Today, the GPS-systemconsists of an active antenna mounted on the roof of the truck. The antenna is connectedto the receiver with a coaxial cable.The purpose with this Master Thesis was to develop and evaluate a new GPS-system,where the information is distributed using a LIN-network. Today, each unit requiringGPS-information is equipped with its own antenna and receiver. This solution has beenthe most cost effective to this point.

Detta examensarbete har gjorts på uppdrag av Rottne Industri AB och berör matarhjulens dubbinträngning i virket. Matarhjulen sitter monterade i skördaraggregatet i skördaren, en skogsmaskin som används vid skogsavverkning. Då inträngningen, som uppstår av dubbarna på matarhjulen, är för stor (>5mm) bildas skador på virket vilket är ett utbrett problem inom skogsmaskinindustrin. Studien kartlägger de vanligaste dubbmönstrens skadeåverkan under kontrollerade och vetenskapliga förhållanden där testerna är designade för att efterlikna verklig skogsavverkning.I studien utförs två tester. Det första visar sambandet mellan presskraft och inskjutningsmått för respektive dubbmönster.

Uppsatsens mål är att undersöka strategier inom stadsplanering för att skapa ett större miljöengagemang och ett mer miljömedvetet beteende hos människor. Detta syftar till att ge landskapsarkitekten verktyg för att kunna påverka människor till ett större miljöintresse. Frågeställningar i arbetet är: Kan människors miljöengagemang och beteende påverkas? Hur sker sådan påverkan? Hur kan miljömedvetenhet påverkas genom stadsplanering? Varför används inte strategier för ökad miljömedvetenhet mer ofta? Resultatet undersöks genom en litteraturstudie i vilken psykologiska teorier kring miljöengagemang och hur detta engagemang kan påverkas beskrivs. Vilka strategier som används i praktiken idag tas också upp i litteraturstudien. Som ett komplement har även tre intervjuer gjorts där kommunanställda stadsplanerare beskriver metoder som används inom respektive kommun för att påverka människors miljöintresse och beteende. För att påverka människan till en mer miljövänlig livsstil kan en så kallad förändringsstrategi utformas som dels bör bygga på strategins förutsättningar och dels på de faktorer som formar människans miljömedvetenhet. De strategier som beskrivs i litteratur och intervjuer kan delas upp i två grupper, de som syftar till att påverka individens miljöengagemang och de som syftar till att påverka beteendet hos individen.

This master?s thesis describes the development of a model of the catalystsystem aiming at control by an MPC. A well functioning model, which is suitable in control purpose, is important while emission legislation become more and more hard to fulfill for the car manufacturers. Much research has been done in the field of physical modeling of the system, but in this work a linear adaptive time discrete ARX-model is developed and validated.The systems tendency to change its dynamic during usage implies that the model must be adaptive. The developed model proved to be well functioning and shows promising conditions for the MPC design.

Hur samverkar de nationella folkhälsomålen med fysisk planering, och på vilket sätt kan folkhälsomålen beaktas för att förbättra förutsättningarna för ökad fysisk aktivitet hos barn? Denna studie är en fallstudie i Hjo kommun. Studien tar utgångspunkt i kommunens folkhälsoproblematik som visar att det finns en hög förekomst av övervikt hos barn. Intentionen är att undersöka vilka organisatoriska processer som kan underbygga det kommunala arbetet med folkhälsomålen, liksom att ta reda på vilka faktorer i den fysiska miljön som skapar förutsättningar för barns fysiska aktivitet. Avsikten med studien har varit att skapa ett underlag för Hjo kommuns översiktliga planering.

The requirements for operative planning activities are increasing. The forest industry wants to gain better control over wood flow. A felling that is more market adjusted is desirable. However, this causes problems in the operative planning process because of the data collection methods used today. Data about timber assortments and data about the distribution of the tree diameter, etc., are often lacking. Airborne laser scanning is used to a greater extent than before for estimation of forest variables and should perhaps be used to the same extent in operative planning activities as well.

The objectives of this research were to determine whether the natural rattan resources in Sulawesi, Indonesia can cope with the strongly increased harvesting pressure that has occurred over the last centuries. I was furthermore looking for patterns in the rattan population dynamics that might give a hint on how the harvesting system could be improved to ensure a maximum sustainable yield. To answer these questions, I developed an individual-based model to analyse the dynamics of rattan growth in connection with rattan harvests by locals to identify sustainable levels of rattan harvests around villages in Sulawesi, Indonesia. Scenarios with different harvesting intensities were run to compare the change in harvest amount. For a given harvesting pressure, scenarios with a high number of harvesters and a low harvesting frequency had the same effect as scenarios with high harvesting frequencies and a low number of harvesters.
