The low bearing capacity of roads during the spring thaw and periods in the autumn leads every year to increases costs for Holmen Skog. To reduce costs and increase accessibility Holmen Skog decided to install and test a CTI-system. Central tire inflation (CTI) is a system that makes it possible to monitor and vary a vehicle?s tire inflation pressures from the cabin, while the vehicle is in motion. When tire pressures are reduced, the area of the contact surface between the tire and the road increases, thus reducing the ground pressure. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the CTI-equipped vehicle and analyze if the CTI technology is economical defensible during the thaw 2005.

This thesis has its focuson media portrayal of a large political institution; the European Union. Articles from two nations daily newspapers have been analyzed in order to examine how the European Union is described and framed for their readers. The newspapers that was chosen for this study and from which the material was collected, were the Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet the American newspaper The New York Times. The material was taken from three periods of time, and by this the results did not only serve a presentiment on how the media reports about the subject, but also an idea over the media?s coverage character over time.

This study was made for the round wood transport company MT Transport AB. Time studies were made in order to analyze time consumption on the mill site for timber trucks delivering round wood at the Södra Cell Mörrum mill. The most interesting was to see how much of the time spent at the factory that was waiting time. In three weeks the study was going on and the drivers were clocking it themselves..

This thesis investigated the possibilities to resume cultivation of an old manor house built of timber and what this would mean from an energy and moisture perspective. The building in this case study is named Sofiedals mansion and was built in 1858 in Valbo 11 kilometers west of Gävle.The structure of the house was documented and used as a starting-point for carrying out calculations focused on energy and moisture aspects. With the help of a number of computer programs and a conducted air tightness test, the buildings energy consumption were calculated and compared with the current building regulations.In addition, the building was analyzed considering energy retrofitting and what it meant for moisture problems. The energy retrofitting consisted of additional insulation, decreasing the buildings permeability through air sealing; window and door replacements. When a building is equipped with natural ventilation it is difficult to know its precise performance and how an energy retrofitting affects it.

Den här kandidatuppsatsens syfte är att undersöka hur det amerikanska presidentvalet 2012 gestaltades i Dagens Nyheter, Svenska Dagbladet, Aftonbladet och Expressen. För att göra detta har totalt 18 nyhetsdygn, uppdelade på två perioder, undersökts i de olika papperstidningarna. Kandidatuppsatsen är dessutom en uppföljning på två tidigare kandidatuppsatser som gjorts på Södertörns högskola om presidentvalet 2004 och 2008.Den teoretiska utgångspunkten för studien är framing theory, eller gestaltningsteorin som den kallas för på svenska. Gestaltningsteorin är en ledande teori när det kommer till den journalistiska bevakningen av politik. Några av de frågeställningar som besvaras i uppsatsen är vilka gestaltningsformer som var dominerande i de olika tidningarna, vilka aktörer som syntes mest, och hur resultatet har förändrats över tid i jämförelse med de två tidigare kandidatuppsatserna.

Syfte:Syftet med studien är att undersöka hur Sundsvalls Tidning framställt Länssjukhuset Sundsvall Härnösand vid rapporteringen om nedskärningarna, samt hur denna framställning påverkat organisationens kommunikatörers arbete. Teori:Teorier som används i studien handlar om hur händelser blir nyheter, nyhetsvärdering, media reputation samt mediernas gestaltningsmakt, med tyngdpunkt på framing. Material:Nyhetsartiklar som berör nedskärningarna vid Länssjukhuset Sundsvall Härnösand i Sundsvalls Tidning under tidsperioden 1-28 februari 2010 samt intervjuunderlag med kommunikatörer vid Länssjukhuset Sundsvall Härnösand.

This essay studies the christening rites in Church of Sweden and what theological motives that are present herein, and how the current revision of the rites have brought in new theological motives with the basis in the contemporary theological debate about the liturgy and theology surrounding the christening rites.The conclusion of the essay is that the revised christening rites have not included any new motives, but has rather restructured and re-emphasized the motives to adopt the christening rites to the findings of contemporary research regarding the christening..

On September 4, 2013, two men were shot in the suburb Biskopsgården in Gothenburg. This was the catalysts to a very problematic autumn in both Biskopsgården as in another suburb, Hisingsbacka. The local media reports of the events were very through, where the newspaper Göteborgs-Posten took a leading role. It?s these reports which form the basis, the so called material of our essay.

Everybody does not agree however, that legalization is the best course of action and in Sweden the emotions have sometimes run high in the discussions taking place in television shows and newspapers.The purpose of this study is to examine the image media portrays of cannabis; based on the theory that mass media is an important influence on the individual and the way in which he or she views the world. To put the result into a context the Swedish media image will be compared with the one in Denmark and Norway.

In Europe poplar plantations has been planted for more than one hundred years. In the first plantation was made in 1940. The interest for poplars has since then shifted over the years and has for long periods been very low but is now slowly increasing again. The main reasons why poplars are becoming more interesting are because of their great production potential. Nevertheless, the knowledge of how to mange poplars in Sweden are very low and very little research has been done concerning management of the species. The objective for this study was to; 1) investigate and document experience and results obtained in practical Swedish forestry, 2) to give a fair picture of the perceived advantages and disadvantages that the poplars has for the forestry, 3) document what the foresters that has experience and those who has no experience of poplar plantations thinks about the potential of poplars.

Med utgångspunkt i en kritisk debatt gällande medias bristfälliga bevakning av EU är syftet med studien är att ta reda på hur den Europeiska unionen skildrades i svensk nyhetspress under 2000-talets första decennium. För att studera EU-journalistik tillämpas en kvantitativ innehållsanalys. Med hjälp av ett kodschema registreras variabelvärden för artiklar från 20 slumpmässigt utvalda veckor mellan åren 2001?2010, i tidningarna Aftonbladet, Dagens Nyheter och Svenska Dagbladet. För att förstå resultaten tas hjälp av ett teoretiskt ramverk med fokus på tidigare forskningsdiskurs samt resonemang kring en marknadsstyrd journalistik och nyhetsvärdering.

SammanfattningSyftet med den här uppsatsen är att genom en tudelad studie undersöka hur det globala fenomenet Anonymous framställs och gestaltas i svensk nyhetsmedia, jämfört med hur deras aktiva deltagare framställer rörelsen. Utifrån detta syfte konstruerades tre frågeställningar; Hur framställs Anonymous i svensk nyhetsmedia? Hur framställs Anonymous av sina aktiva deltagare? På vilka sätt överensstämmer respektive skiljer sig dessa framställningar åt?Material Då uppsatsen innehåller en tudelad studie består analysmaterialet av två olika material. Det ena materialet består av 28 tidningsartiklar från de fyra största svenska dagstidningarna. Det andra materialet består av tre intervjuer med tre olika personer som identifierar sig som aktiva inom Anonymous.Teori & metod Jag har använt kvalitativ innehållsanalys för att bearbeta de två materialen.

This study explores Sweden's climate change denial by analyzing the spoken-word discourse of its countermovement, focusing on digital media content from Swedish parliament member Elsa Widding with an aim to provide empirical insights into the discourse of Sweden's Climate Change Countermovement (CCCM). Questions guiding this study are: What are the most prevalent topics and themes related to climate change denial and skepticism? How do they align with established categories of climate change denial, shaping the overall narrative? What mobilizing ideas and meanings are present, how are they shaped, and how do they contribute to the movement's goals? The material consists of Elsa Widding's complete audio-based "movement texts'' from 2019-2023, including YouTube content, podcasts, and appearances on Riks, totaling over 2000 minutes of audio transcribed into text via AI technology. Methodologically, this study adopts a mixed-method approach which blends computational pattern detection, topic modeling, clustering, and spatial relationship mapping techniques, along with qualitative content and framing analysis. Theoretically, the study employs a perspective which uses epistemic and response skepticism to examine climate change denial, viewing it through the lens of countermovements and social movement framing. The study's main contribution lies in the enablement of comprehensive analysis of a large audio-based dataset, achieved by leveraging recent AI advancements for reliable audio-to-text conversion combined with topic modeling.
