The art of producing films have been around for more than a century and the technology just continues to evolve. But although much has happened in 100 years, there are also processes, theories and practices that look the same now as then. I write this thesis because I want to find the differences between the analogue and the digital way of production. This study is based on a qualitative approach because my ambition is to seek the views concerning film production processes. The advantages of analogue film is that it contains more information than the digital formats and that it has a more cinematic style.

Arbetet är tänkt att belysa barn och ungdomars förmåga att med källkritiska ögon kunna ta till sig undervisning som framställs med hjälp av filmer, böcker, spel mm som innehar historiska teman. Film är och bör vara ett fantastiskt hjälpmedel för ungdomarna. Om de får förklarat hur de ska tillgodose sig med informationen som framställs i exempelvis filmer som kan inneha förvanskade detaljer. Om källkritiken finns närvarande som en faktor i undervisningen för att kontrollera sanningsenligheten i filmer, böcker, spel mm blir ungdomarna medvetna om den förvanskning som ofta finns inom film och skönlitterära verk. Undersökningen bygger på enkät av 17 gymnasieelever och resultatet spänner från ointresserade elever till elever som har ett källkritiskt förhållningssätt till film..

Film is a tool frequently used by teachers, but it is often limited to showing students how historical time periods looked like, or as a way for students to search for historical inaccuracies. The aim of this essay is to study whether it is possible to use two films based on the legend of Robin Hood as a way to teach students how to contextualize gender history. Through the use of film analysis and gender analysis of two different versions of Robin Hood, The adventures of Robin Hood and Robin Hood: Prince of thieves were analyzed. The study has shown that it is indeed possible to use film as a source material for the study of gender history, and that film can tell us a lot about the contemporary view of gender, masculinity and femininity. The didactical analysis concluded that there was no theoretical objection of using film as a source material; however, there are some things that a teacher should be aware of. Although film may be a good way to create a varied study environment and benefit students with reading- and writing disabilities, there is a risk that time-constraints and lack of knowledge of film and its methodology on, behalf of both teachers and students, may make it hard to implement.

This Masters thesis concerns feature film services in Swedish public libraries. We have investigated the opinion of eight librarians concerning values and criteria for selection as regards film. The theory chosen comes from varied disciplines, for example sociology, adapted to our subject. The most important theories are Antonio Gramscis idea of hegemony, Herbert J. Gans concept of taste cultures and Carl Gustav Johannsens discussion about quality.

Abstract   Cinematic time is the most complex of all: it is composed of public time (clock), personal time (experienced) and in addition, it can run backwards, be contingent, stored and (re)created. The present study examines some aspects of cinematic time, with special reference to the instant, the moment and the present. The strictly defined instant or moment does not exist. It is a passage between the past and the future and it is impossible to record on film or a photograph. One example is the moment of death, which is an abstraction with zero duration.

Denna uppsats är skriven inom ämnet allmänt utbildningsområde och behandlar frågeställningar kring filmens relation till historieundervisningen och hur film kan användas som pedagogiskt redskap inom historieämnet i grundskolans senare del samt i gymnasieskolan. De teoretiska grunder som främst används är två. Det ena är teorier kring historia, historieskrivning och film som historiskt dokument. Det andra är de didaktiska teorierna och hur dessa kan relateras till användandet av film i undervisningen.Som metod används teoretiska studier samt kvalitativa intervjuer med lärare inom historieämnet, verksamma inom både grundskola och gymnasieskola. Energy Director is a control and measuring system for energy consumption and is part of the product portfolio of E.ON AG for more efficient use of energy, offered to business customers. As of today, the system has only one parameter of control, namely power, and the objective of this essay has been to investigate whether other ones could be added. The emphasis is on the environmental perspective, which is why carbon dioxide has served as an example for this parameter in question.Parallel with the study of Energy Director electricity on the margin, calculations of carbon dioxide equivalents and also the Swedish trade of electricity have all been highlighted. Results indicate that when reductions in energy are made it is endorsed to omit from electricity on the margin rather than some mean distributed electricity, under certain conditions, and in addition the calculations of the reductions should be modified regarding the efficiency of the power stations fuelled by lignite and bituminous coal. Sweden practices trade with the Nordic countries as well as Poland and Germany.

Varje år producerar Hollywood flertalet filmer med utgångspunkt i historien och dessa formar den allmänna uppfattningen om historiska händelser och personer. Även i klassrummen har filmen hittat in och blivit en naturlig del av undervisningen för många historielärare. Det är dock, som tidigare forskning har visat, oklart huruvida dessa filmvisande lärare har en pedagogisk tanke bakom att trycka på Play. Denna uppsats syftar till att ge en bild av historielärares didaktiska syn på att visa film i undervisningen utifrån frågorna vad, hur och varför de gör det. Kvalitativa djupintervjuer efter en intervjuguide har genomförts med fem gymnasielärare.

Den här studien handlar om hur ett antal lärare använder film och andra multimediala verktyg i engelskundervisningen. En del i undersökningen berör de tillfrågade lärarnas hänvisningar till styrdokumenten och de olika delar av läroplanen de väljer att citera. För att belysa lärarnas syn på olika läromedel innehåller arbetet också en kortare analys av hur man, enligt forskare, bör använda läromedel i skolan idag. I anslutning till debatten kring läromedel och variation av undervisningen diskuteras också lärarnas syn på motivation och elevernas intressen. Early Swedish films from the 1910?s and 1920?s are not only an important part of Sweden?s cultural heritage, but also an important part of the international film heritage. This period is often refereed to as the golden age of Swedish film history. Despite this fact, the possibility to watch Swedish films from this period is very small and the main purpose of this thesis is to examine why the availability of these films has such low priority in the Swedish film policy and at the Swedish Film Institute. With the use of policy analysis, I study governmental policies and policies from the Swedish Film Institute for early Swedish films and seek to identify the policy problem and its different parts.

Syftet med denna uppsats handlar om att undersöka och jämföra hur tre svensklärare beskriver sitt arbete med film i svenskämnet och hur de ser på filmens roll i svenskämnet. För att uppnå syftet ställs tre frågor: Hur ser de på film i relation till styrdokumenten och som ett eget textbegrepp? Hur ser de på film i relation till litteratur? Hur ser de på film i relation till ungdomar? Denna studie bygger på kvalitativa intervjuer som gjorts med tre svensklärare på gymnasiet. Intervjuerna har spelats in med diktafon, transkriberats, analyserats och jämförts.     Resultatet visar på att film används för att illustrera en epok eller ett litterärt verk eller som en jämförelse i samband med tematiska arbeten. Två av de tre lärarna beskriver filmens roll i relation till styrdokumenten.

Muscial theatre for children ? the function of the music in theatrical storytelling for children in Regionteatern Blekinge-Kronoberg. Sweden, Växjö, 2006.The aim of this essay is to examine music in theatre for children. There is not much recent research about the subject so this essay is a way to discern this part of the theatre and to get more people interested in the matter. The survey will focus on how music is used in an institutional theatre (Regionteatern Blekinge-Kronoberg) that works with plays for children.
