Research makes it clear that machinery, throughout history and even today, has been seen as a male area. Heavy machines are often associated with the same attributes as masculinity. Syftet med denna studie var attstudera förskolebarns erfarenheter av genus utifrån bilderböcker. Studien är baserad på kvalitativa boksamtal, där tre böcker användes samt bildanalyser av barnens teckningar. Boksamtalen gjordes tillsammans med tio barn från två olika förskolor. Resultatet visade att barnens uppfattningar av genus skilde sig åt, majoriteten uppfattade genus genom de traditionella genusmönstren medan några barn utmanade dessa. Samtliga barn poängterade att den verkliga skillnaden mellan män och kvinnor är den biologiska olikheten.

The purpose of this thesis is to find out how gender roles are described in musical lyrics written for children. I used gender theories that describe how stereotypical gender roles are displayed in music and these theories were later compared with the songbooks I studied. The thesis is a qualitative study to detect masculine and feminine related differences in the texts. After having read, analyzed and compared over 200 songs I found that the stereotype notions of masculinity and femininity is reflected in songs. In the report "Män är IT-tekniker; kvinnor är i helpdesk", several women in different positions at a male-dominated IT company are interviewed. Purpose This thesis tries to create an understanding of how male homosexual entrepreneurs, both as persons and as a concept, relates to the fact that entrepreneurship, as well as the society as a whole, is heteronormative. Moreover, it examines by what methods the male homosexual entrepreneurs cope with the seemingly paradox of a homosexual man who also is an entrepreneur. Method The method has been qualitative from a social construction-point of view. We have made semi-structured interviews with nine male homosexual entrepreneurs and structured the findings from the interviews with a computer programme and mind mapping techniques. We have compared the structured findings with theories, in an abducting manner, to find out an answer to the purpose of this thesis.

My study focuses on how heterosexuality became, and still is, the norm for sexuality in Namibia. My aim is to through interviewing young academics from University of Namibia and by using discourse analysis, queer- and postcolonial theory, try to find out how these young academics perceive sexuality. My findings are that my respondents perceive heterosexuality to be natural, normal and given by god, and that they perceive homosexuality to be ?a big no-no?. There are certain institutions in the Namibian society that regulates how the Namibian people thinks about sexuality, and my findings are that these are Christianity, culture, family, government, and the traditional picture of a good man and a good woman.

Syftet med studien är att undersöka hur lärare i Idrott och hälsa, Biologi och Hem ochkonsumentkunskap resonerar kring animaliska livsmedel i anknytning till sin undervisning, samt hurlärarnas läromedel förhåller sig till animaliska livsmedel. Empirin bygger på halvstruktureradekvalitativa intervjuer med fem grundskolelärare; två lärare undervisar i Idrott och hälsa, en lärareundervisar i Biologi och två lärare undervisar i Hem- och konsumentkunskap. Jag har även genomförten läromedelsanalys med utgångspunkt från en kritisk diskursanalys. Intervju- och textmaterialetanalyseras utifrån en kritisk teori och en kritisk djurteori. Analysen av studiens resultat understrykeren prioritering av animaliska livsmedel i läromedlen varpå den vegetabiliska kosten konstrueras somett icke fullvärdigt alternativ.

I detta examensarbete studeras normbytet från BKR till Eurokod på en tillbyggnad till Växjö sjukhus. Tillbyggnaden kallas Hus X. I uppsatsen vill jag undersöka samhällskunskapsboken för gymnasiet "Kompass till samhällskunskap" ur ett genusperspektiv. Genom att utföra en diskursanalys hoppas jag finna de diskurser kring kön och genus som finns i boken. Teorin bygger främst på Hirdmans två principer; dikotomin och mannen som norm och överordnad. Samt hur detta är grunden för genusordningen. Resultatet påvisar flera olika diskurser kring kön och jämställdhet.

The Profession of Real Estate Agents has by tradition been a male profession. However during later years the profession has changed. It is now many young women that are pursuing a career as a Real Estate Agent.In the light of this background we have researched how Real Estate Agents employed by Fastighetsbyrån and Svensk Fastighetsförmedling perceive their profession from an equality perspective.The investigation has been limited to include the counties of Värmland and Närke and have been conducted by interviewing Real Estate Agents of different age and sex and the managers of the firms.The study show that the Real Estate Agents perceive their profession in a positive way and that the work is divided equal. However it emerged that there were a division regarding different real estate types in certain agencies. The Real Estate Agents believe that the gender of the manager is of no importance.

The purpose of this study is to analyze how homosexuality is portrayed in young- adult novels. I use books published in Sweden from 1977- 2003. Three of the books have female main characters and the other three have male main characters. My purpose is therefore to compare the different results between the sexes.I will examine and discuss the homosexuality in the novels with focus on the homosexual identity of the young characters and how it is formed. I relate the results to a queer discussion about identity.

The study aims to illustrate how women victims of male violence in intimate relationships are treated during the legal process and with professional perspective describe what women?s experiences considered to be in the legal process. The study also aims to draw attention to the interventions for abused women during the legal process.The results are based on interviews with professionals in the justice system, and on observations in the courtroom. Overall our results show that abused women are in need of a great quantity of help and support before, during and after the negotiation. The legal process is very stressful for the women.

The number of women in Swedish firms of accountant is not lower then the number of men, but when we compared the number of chartered auditors, the number of women are low compared to men. This is connected to the public debate that is mainly emphasising that there are no differences between men and women and therefore the sexes should be treated equal. The method used is a qualitative study and the primary data was collected through interviews. The respondents consist of members, women as well as men, from eighteen auditors in Malmö and Kristianstad. The result shows that both male and female characters are needed in the work on the firm of accountants.
