The purpose of this thesis was to ease the implement of an upcoming intranet for a target group who had used the previous system to an unwanted low extent. After qualitative and quantitative studies I found that the users of the current intranet thought it was hard to navigate and did not understand neither the relevance of it in their own work nor knew which information it contained.Since I did not have access to the new system by the time of the making of this thesis I concentrated on rectifying possible problems with the new system regarding the relevance and the contained information. With basis in a number of theories I produced an information brochure, whose object was to inform about the content and to convince the target group of the relevance and utility of the new intranet. .

SammanfattningDet här examensarbetet har gått ut på att undersöka hur en manual kan utformas för att instruera i att skriva klarspråk om teknisk information.Jag har arbetat utifrån principerna läsligt, läsbarhet och läsvärde samt läst studier i hur en skribent kan förenkla en text. Jag har också utfört en textanalys, gruppintervju och användartest för att skapa en manual som kan vara anpassad utifrån målgruppens behov. I mitt arbete har jag använt mig av principer för att skriva klarspråk. Det är att målgruppsanpassa, använda bekanta ord, skriva en logisk meningsbyggnad och att -strukturera texten på rätt sätt. Manualen blev kortfattad för att passa målgruppen. Den innehåller många exempel för att skapa förståelse och läsvärde..

Det här arbetet redogör för hur jag går tillväga för att skapa ett koncept med informationstexter om styrketräning. Texterna informerar om hur vanliga friviktsövningar ska utföras på ett korrekt sätt och placeras direkt i gymlokalen. Som fall används gymmet Parsa Power i Uppsala. Uppdragsgivarna där är Omid Parsa, grundare, och Ulrica Lindkvist, delägare. För att ta fram konceptet undersöktes bland annat vad som fångar målgruppens uppmärksamhet i en miljö med många distraktioner och vilket tilltal som bör användas.

Varje år skadas och dödas ett antal unga personer i olyckor kopplade till järnvägen. Att få ungdomar att vilja läsa ett informationsmaterial om säkerhet är en utmaning eftersom de kan ha en negativ attityd till myndigheter, auktoriteter och förbud, eller helt enkelt vara ointresserade. En lösning kan vara att använda sig av emotionella budskap och skapa ett material som känns personligt.Som examensarbete har jag skapat ett förslag till informationsmaterial åt Trafikverket. Materialet består i huvudsak av en skriftlig berättelse eftersom jag anser att det kan vara ett bra tillvägagångssätt för att nå ungdomar med säkerhetsinformation. Jag har frågat mig vad som krävs för att berättelsen ska tilltala målgruppen och hur materialet bör formges för att fånga deras uppmärksamhet..

I have in this thesis studied how guidelines for organizing information in a custom- made user interface could be made. Teletal is service with a special designed user interface were information is stored. The purpose of this study is to encourage a consistent organization, and management of information in a user interface. The methods used in this study are as follows ? qualitative interviews and two card-sorting tests, of which one was closed and the other open.

In this degree project I have studied how an anti-discrimination bureau can adapttheir online information to the target group ? immigrants who only have modestunderstanding of the Swedish language. This group is often subject of discriminationmatters, and therefore it?s important that they can take part of the information.To find answers to my questions I have studied different relevant theories, performeda readability analysis on the online information and have had qualitativeinterviews with representatives from the target group. I have also tested my rewrittentexts on both representatives and other readers.The result from my studies has shown that it is words that are the most difficult inthe current online information, while length and structure of the sentences are alsoof importance when it comes to the readability.

The local council of Eskilstuna has a lot of fans on their Facebook page, but not so many people that ask questions, likes, comments or share their posts. This is a bachelor-thesis on how to inspire dialogue and encourage the fans to be a part of Eskilstunas Facebook page.I have made guidelines for the council how to use Facebook as a way to reach out to those who live in Eskilstuna, based on results from literature studies, analysis of several other Facebook pages and interviews. I've also made examples of statuses for the Facebook page for one week, in May 2012.The result shows that the fans want's to read about their local environment. It is important to have a personal appeal. Post should be no longer than 400 character, if they are, the posts will be truncated, and hidden.

Detta examensarbete har gått ut på att arbeta fram en lättläst och lättförståelig elfaktura eftersom dessa slags fakturor upplevs som krångliga och svårförståeliga. Utifrån de kvantitativa och kvalitativa metoderna enkätundersökning, intervju och fokusgrupp har detta varit möjligt. Mina frågeställningar var ?Hur kan man, med hjälp av form och principerna för lättläst, förenkla texten i elfakturor, utan att någon viktig information går förlorad?? och ?Hur kan läsflödet samt överblicken i en elfaktura förbättras??. Utifrån teorierna arbetade jag fram ett gestaltningsförslag som min fokusgrupp fick ta del av och därefter gjordes ändringar utifrån deras åsikter.

Detta arbete undersöker hur man på bästa sätt informerar om ideella organisationer i syfte att öka viljan till engagemang hos potentiella volontärer.De teoretiska utgångspunkterna behandlar trovärdighet inom välgörenhet, effektivitet och amatörism, trovärdighet i text och budskapsstrategier. Genom textanalyser och kompletterande intervjuer tydliggörs hur icke genomtänkt information kan skapa en missvisande uppfattning hos potentiella volontärer. Något som i förlängningen förvirrar och försvårar rekryteringsprocessen.Resultatet av arbetet är ett informationsmaterial utformat efter fem principer för att skapa förtroende i text och form ? tala direkt till mottagaren, var transparent, förklara "hur" istället för "varför", håll det enkelt och redovisa resultaten. Detta skapar goda förutsättningar och underlättar en ideell organisations arbete..

Att lyckas nå fram med sitt budskap är beroende av ett flertal olika faktorer. Till exempel målgruppens förtroende för avsändaren. Hur ska en göra om målgruppen redan innan budskapet förs fram har en skeptisk inställning gentemot avsändaren? Med utgångspunkt i retorikens ethos undersöker jag i denna studie hur en kommunal verksamhet kan använda ethos för att bygga upp sin trovärdighet gentemot sin målgrupp. Genom att ta fasta på verksamhetens kompetens, deras värderingar och välvilja, och lyfta fram dessa i en informationstext om verksamheten, ligger förhoppningen i att målgruppens benägenhet att nyttja verksamhetens tjänster ökar.

The purpose of this thesis has been about processing an already existing folder for a tax funded organization which is also the employer for this mission ? Expectrum. The reason is that both Expectrum themselves and the recievers of the folder are unhappy with the existing material. The critic that has been directed to Expectrum is that the recievers have trouble understanding what Expectrum is and what they do. Based on qualitative methods such as interviews and text analysis I?ve been able to answer my questions for this thesis.

ADHD has for a long time been perceived as something that affects children and grows away with time. American psychiatric association state that ADHD may appear differently with adolescences and adults than with children. That could lead to misunderstandings and exclusion by adults and adolescences with ADHD at work life amongst other situations. This report investigates that exclusion and tries to find what information that needs to reach certain target groups to prevent it from happen.The works focus is text design, a part of information design, and looks firstly at the factors that make good information material. Then I investigate if there is a need for more information about ADHD within working life and if so what it would contain.

SammanfattningDet examensarbete vi utfört var att skapa en ny hyresgästinformation för Kommunfastighet i Eskilstuna. Detta i form av en broschyr som ska användas till att informera nyinflyttade hyresgäster inom bolaget. Analyser och utprovningar av det befintliga informationsmaterialet resulterade i att vårt material förändrades och förbättrades, jämfört med bolagets, det blev också mer komplext i sitt innehåll.Flera undersökningar har skett på det befintliga och det nya materialet under arbetets gång. Resultatet av dessa undersökningar ligger till grund för den slutgiltiga produkten. Till skillnad från Kommunfastighets material har vi varit konsekventa i text och utformning.

This is a thesis on information design with a focus on text design. The purpose of this study is to gather knowledge about how information on the Easy-to-Read website, of the police, should be composed so that immigrants more easily will be able to read and understand the content. The goal of the study is to present a design proposal based on the knowledge that has been found through principles for readability, theoretical perspectives and literature, together with methods; readability analysis and interviews. The interviews were performed individually with the coordinator at polisen.se as well as four students from SFI (Swedish for immigrants). The study showed that the content on the website of the police is not adequately adapted to the needs of the target group. It also exhibited that the website's disposition is unclear, and that complicated terms are not explained.

The purpose of this project was to find out how reading is affected, and not affected, by different elements on a start page. The site I was studied belongs to the magazine Fitness Magazine, and the current site has a problem. The editorial texts and articles don?t reach out to the visitors. The goal was to make a proposal for a new first page of the web site that highlights the texts and the reading.With the help of interviews, user testing and textual analysis, I studied if the texts were in itself that caused the problem or if it was the design.
