The purpose of this essay is to study how feminists portray themselves and their opinions about gender issues and other political matters in popular feminist blogs. The blogs that are studied are Lady Dahmer, Fanny Åström, Hanapee and Genusfolket. The overall essay questions are: How does the feminist bloggers present themselves? Which subjects are discussed in the feminist blogs? Which rhetorical devices does the feminist bloggers use? The theories that are used to answer the essay questions are the four spheres where there are inequality between the sexes, theories about third wave feminism, the rhetorical concepts ethos, logos and pathos and the SPADER-model for writing good argumentation. A descriptive method is used to study how the bloggers present themselves, a quantitative content analysis is used to count which subjects the bloggers write about and a qualitative rhetorical text analysis is used to study the rhetorical devices the bloggers use.The result shows that the two bloggers Lady Dahmer and Fanny Åström describe themselves with provocative words while the other blogs have more neutral descriptions.

The absence of female directors on Swedish corporate boards is currently a hot topic for both politicians and business leaders all over the world. This thesis aims to discuss reasons for the scarcity of women on boards in Swedish publicly listed companies as well as what actions are taken to alter the composition of these boards. A rigorous selection of gender theories have been used together with data collected from in-depth interviews with mainly board members and nomination committees. Extensive analysis has led to findings that historical perceptions of differences between men and women linger as of today, which prevents women to reach top executive levels as well as board positions. The increasing use of headhunters has encouraged companies to look beyond male-dominated networks in an attempt to widen the range of potential board nominees.

Jag har valt att studera hur valet av barnlitteratur ser ut på tre förskolor. Uppsatsens syfte är att undersöka hur barnlitteraturen kommer till förskolan. Den väg som jag inriktat mig på är pedagoger på förskolor som är verksamma som läsinspiratörer via biblioteket. Jag undersöker hur de påverkar urvalet av böcker som finns för barnen på förskolan. Genom att undersöka vägen som litteraturen tar innan den hamnar på förskolan vill jag synliggöra valet som biblioteket och pedagogerna gör av böcker och se hur anpassad litteratururvalet blir till barnen.

Purpose: The aim of this paper is to investigate whether there are differences between big cities and small cities in adventure tourism. The cities that are studied are Stockholm and Visby.Methodology: The study is based on a qualitative method. We have done interviews and observation. We also used books and internet when collecting information.        Conclusions: The study has shown that differences exist between large and small cities. People seek out the opposite, whether you're from a big city or small town.

Undersökningen syftar till att jämföra två olika urvalssystem för officersprogrammet. För detta syfte ställs det gamla respektive det nya urvalssystemet mot kadetternas studieresultat. Urvalskriterierna till dessa urvalssystem korreleras mot studieresultatet i en korrelationsmatris. Därefter undersöks de uppmätta sambanden medelst semi-partiala korrelationsmått och konfidensintervall. Detta skapar belägg för att det föregående urvalssystemet var effektivare än den nya för att välja ut kadetter med förmåga att tillgodogöra sig utbildningen.

This Masters thesis concerns computer games in Swedish public libraries. We have investigated the opinions of public librarians concerning what they think about computer games, and to what extent they believe it should be a part of the public library. The method we have chosen is qualitative interviews. The theory we have used is a pedagogical literature strategy, which we have reformulated so that it fits our investigation. The results show that the interviewed public librarians think that the library should offer computer games for children and youths to use at the library, and that they should offer computer games for lending, to all the library users.

This is a project in Entrepreneurship and Creativity on masters? degree. The purpose was to verify whether the Swedish retail trade within the beauty care business was ready for an in-troduction of colour cosmetics. Through the qualitative research grounded theory, I made several phone interviews with independence retail traders within the Swedish beauty care business. The selection of respondents is based on statistical facts and geographic coverage of Swedish beauty care shops.

Denna studie handlar om bilder i matematikböcker, hur de kan medföra både möjligheter och hinder för eleverna, hur de väljs ut och hur de samspelar med texten i den uppgift de tillhör.Läroboken är det hjälpmedel som överlägset dominerar matematikundervisningen och bilderna i läroboken har med tiden blivit både större och fler. Bilder har visat sig ha betydelse för lärandet, på både positiva och negativa sätt. Det har bland annat konstaterats att inlärningen optimeras då text kompletteras med relevanta bilder.Syftet med uppsatsen är att besvara våra tre frågeställningar: Utifrån några utvalda matematikböcker, hur skiljer sig bilder åt ifråga om sin pedagogiska funktion för tillhörande matematikuppgift? Vilka pedagogiska möjligheter och hinder ser några läromedelsförfattare med bilder i matematikböcker? Vad anser några läromedelsförfattare kan påverka valet av bilder till ett matematikläromedel?Studien är gjord i två delar. Dels en analys av relationer mellan bild och text i några utvalda matematikböcker för grundskolans senare år, dels som kvalitativa intervjuer med tre författare av matematikläromedel.Analysen av matematikböcker resulterade i en indelning av bilder i sju kategorier utifrån lika många funktioner.

This paper?s objective is to investigate whether Modigliani and Miller (MM) I & II proposition from 1958 with regard to capital structure, is still valid among public Swedish firms.We have chosen the 63 firms on the Stockholm Stock Exchange (OMX) that Affärsvärlden magazine?s general index (AFGX) has categorized as industrial firms. We based this selection on the assumption that these firms are relatively capital intense and have a clear focus on production and, therefore, mainly uses capital structure as a mean to finance their production and not as a means in itself.To be able to fully evaluate these firms we have calculated the current key ratios based each firm?s annual report. To make the figures comparable across the entire population we adjusted them to each firm?s turnover.The results we have reached concur with MM?s proposition I regarding capital structures independence of the firm value.

This study is based on my work as a teacher of Swedish language and literature to upper secondary school students, and my interest in developing the teaching of literature by using both new criticism theories and theories of literary perception focusing on reader response. The purpose of the study is to examine the learning process in trying to develop literary competence and to find out how to describe the competence shown by the students. My starting-point is a discussion about literary competence and the theory and model of literary competence by Örjan Torell. In examining literary competence, by how students use their constitutional competence as well as performance and literary transfer competences, Torell´s model shows the possibility and the need for both knowledge of literature and personal reception by focusing on the dialogue between author and reader.The method is qualitative and the empirics are material collected in one senior high school class in the Social Science programme during their second and third year. The material contains written reading logs, written answers to tasks and transcribed recordings of discussions of literature.The analysis shows a variety among the literary competence shown and developed by the students and points to the complexity of understanding the concept of literary competence.

Med utgångspunkt att lärare upplever elevers läsförståelse som svår att bedöma är syftet med denna studie att konkretisera det komplexa begreppet läsförståelse. Jag har tagit hjälp av läsförståelseforskning för att kunna återge en samlad bild av begreppet läsförståelse. Ett andra syfte är att försöka se hur begreppet läsförståelse förhåller sig till litterär analys och tolkning. Genom att ställa läsförståelseforskningens definition av läsförståelse mot en berättande text försöker jag förstå vad begreppet betyder och innebär i praktiken. För att kunna göra detta har jag utfört en litteraturanalys samt konstruerat ett läsförståelsetest på den berättande texten.

AbstractI denna studie kommer vi undersöka hur maskuliniteter framställs i utvalda exempel från tidningen King of Sweden. Vi vill besvara våra frågeställningar kring hur maskuliniteter uttrycks i de utvalda bild- och textexemplen från King och vilka uttryck och egenskaper som kan uttolkas tillhöra dessa. Vidare undrar vi om någon av dessa maskuliniteter kan tolkas som en föredragen och dominerande maskulinitetstyp tack vare de egenskaper och värden den representerar. Slutligen vill vi se till tidningens presenterade stadgar om förutbestämt uttryck och innehåll för att undersöka hur väl dessa stämmer in i de text- och bildexempel som väljs ut.För att försöka besvara frågeställningarna söker vi efter mönster i bild och text ur ett flertal nummer av tidningen. Dessa mönster tolkar vi som exempel på uttryck av tidningens sätt att framställa maskulinitet, där vi ser om samma typ av egenskaper eller uttryck återkommer i flertalet nummer.
