The purpose of this study is to analyze and specify the characteristics of servicescapes in the hotel industry and its role when building a brand. Further, the aim is to put forward how Management in this sector strategically utilizes the location to manage the staff in order to help build a strong lasting brand. To fulfill our purpose we have targeted one overall question - What purpose does servicescape have when building a solid brand name in the hotel sector?In today?s society brands play an integral part in influencing our buying behavior and are now considered to be a new business tool to communicate a business trough. Also services have become a widespread phenomenon, which is seen as a competitive tool not only for companies in the service sector.

The purpose of this work is to design and construct a device able to measure the mechanical attrition of oxygen carrier particles. Those particles are used in chemical looping combustion and in the present situation there is a lack of knowledge in how the attrition process work and in which extension. To find already tested solutions trying to answering this problem a literature study wascarried out and the best solution found was the so called Grace-Davison Jet-Cup method. This method is supposed to emulate the attrition caused by a cyclone separator and its advantages are that it is possible to use small test amounts, 5-10 g, and a thirty minutes long test will be enough to acquire useable results. An device was designed based on the Jet-Cup method with some slight modifications.

ABB Capacitors is looking to introduce LEAN within their organization. The purpose of this research is to suggest ways to improve the production planning in order to facilitate the company?s production processes. This should be done in accordance with the LEAN concept.Today, ABB will produce two of the customers? orders at the same time.

The topic of our thesis is Packaging Design as a Brand Building Tool and we are presenting the Scandinavian perspective. We found the topic interesting because, from a theoretical point of view, we identified a scarcity in research focusing on packaging design as a brand management tool, and from a practical point of view, we found out that businesses use packaging design at different levels in their communication efforts. Thus we wanted to provide both academia and business world with a clear picture to what extent and how businesses use packaging design in their brand-building process. Therefore the aim of our thesis is to provide practitioners and academicians alike with a better understanding of how packaging design can be used to create strong brands in the FMCG sector in the Scandinavian market. To reach the stated aim first we provided a solid theoretical background of packaging, its elements and its role in the marketing mix.

Trots att självkänsla är ett frekvent studerat ämne saknas en allmänt erkänd teori och definition som kan utgöra en grund då självkänsla studeras. Gemensamt för flertalet teorier är att självkänslan grundläggs i barndomen samt att självkänsla rör en persons uppfattning om sig själv och personens omdöme om hur han eller hon uppfattas av omvärlden. Studiens syfte var att göra en psykometrisk utvärdering av en modifierad version av Jag tycker jag är samt att studera formulärets test-retest reliabilitet. Jag tycker jag är utvärderades genom att analyseras tillsammans med andra välprövade självkänsloskalor. Undersökningsdeltagare var 100 psykologistuderande (M = 28.4 år; s = 7.3 år).

The purpose of this study is to investigate whether intensive teaching of reading strategies at an individual level can affect reading comprehension for students in second grade. A quantitative method with quasi-experimental design is used. All students in the experimental class trained on reading comprehension strategies at their particular level five times each. Before and after training a reading comprehension test was made. The reference class did the same test.

It seems like Swedish municipalities are dominated by beliefs that all citizen participation is good for the development of local democracy. A critic of this certainty is rising among Swedish scholars of political science. However, a critic with an ambition of such generalization is harsh. Different democratic projects contents different qualities and thereby diverse problems in the democratic process. If these democratic problems within the process can be recognized, a deeper understanding can be found and in the prolongation a strengthening of the democracy.This essay examines the democratic process of Lomma municipality's democratic project of citizen participation.

SammanfattningSyfte och frågeställningar: Syfte var att a) undersöka interbedömarreliabiliteten av testerna Neer sign (NS), Hawkins-Kennedy test (HKT) och Jobe test (JT), samt b) undersöka sambandet mellan resultatet vid NS, HKT och JT med resultatet vid muskuloskeletal ultraljudsundersökning hos patienter med subacromial smärta. Frågeställningarna var följande: Hur är interbedömarreliabiliteten för NS, HKT och JT? Vilken sensitivitet och specificitet har NS, HKT och JT som enskilda test respektive tillsammans i ett testbatteri för att diagnosticera subacromial smärta med muskuloskeletalt ultraljud som referensmetod? Hur väl samvarierar ett positivt impingementtest med ett onormalt lågt avstånd mellan humerus och acromion? Finns det någon skillnad av det acromiohumerala utrymmet (AHD) mellan personer med eller utan impingement i skuldran? Metod: 18 forskningspersoner (fp) med skulderbesvär (medelålder 54 år, besvärsduration median 2,25 mån) rekryterades konsekutivt.  Under samma dag undersöktes fp av två sjukgymnaster med testerna NS, HKT och JT. Ultraljudsundersökning utfördes inom åtta dagar och användes som referensmetod vid uträkning av sensitivitet och specificitet för de kliniska testerna.

As IT service departments in organisations are becoming more complex and customised, the indirect costs are increasing in relation to the total costs. The difficulty of fully estimating and identifying the spread of the cost in the IT service department is increasing. As a result, firms tend to budget the business unit as a total cost rather than as a spread of defined costs. In order to deal with this challenge an ABC calculation will be applied. The Time Driven ABC model will be conducted in OMX´s Servicedesk unit within the IT services.

A substation must be properly protected against lightning and other external effects to the equipment in the station or staff, for that we use relay protection. They should also protect against internal errors which may occur as ground faults. There are different types of protection relays, but most common are overcurrent-, distance-, residual current- and differential protection.The purpose of this thesis was to deepen our knowledge of relay protection and to use the theoretical knowledge we got from the university studies in the work process. In the process we discovered which parameters were the most essential and calculated these for all relay protections on the substation. We also carry out a comparison between two brands of relay protection, ABB and Alstom.During our work we will test and simulate the over-current relays in a program called NEPLAN, the program will also calculate the fault currents.

SammanfattningSyfte och frågeställningarHuvudsyftet med denna studie var att skatta reliabiliteten i den svenska Försvarsmaktens fälttest. Ytterligare syften med studien var att undersöka huruvida antropometriska parametrar såsom vikt, längd och BMI korrelerar med resultat på fälttestet.MetodFör att undersöka fältestets reliabilitet genomförde 33 försökspersoner (fp) två fälttest med 48 timmars mellanrum. Fp bestod av endast män där genomsnittsåldern var 22 år, genomsnittsvikt 81 kg samt genomsnitts längd 182 cm. Fälttest innebär att fp springer en sträcka på 2000 m med stridsutrustning som väger cirka 22 kg. Test och re-test genomfördes vid samma tid på dygnet.

The ambition of this study is to examine the discussion surrounding the Swedish participation in the European security- and defence policy. By forming feasible areas of arguments the goal is to gain further comprehension in the case of Sweden. These arguments are formed in close relation to the empirical sources; With less public funding there are economic aspects of cooperation, this could also be related to Swedish the industry of defence systems; A high level of participation in the UN is a tradition in Swedish foreign policy, the European battle groups are the perfect tool to further strengthen the UN ability in conflict management and peace keeping missions; Outside the EMU Sweden could face the political margin, to retain influence a high level of activity ought to occur in the integration process; Finally, the future position of United States and NATO is not clear, Europe needs an capacity apart the US to contribute to lasting peace and stability. When developing software that is meant to be distributed over several different computers and several different networks while still working together against a common goal there is a challenge in testing how updates within a single component will affect the system as a whole. Even if the performance of that specific component increases that is no guarantee for the increased performance of the entire system. Traditional methods of testing software becomes both hard and tedious when several different machines has to be involved for a single test and all of those machines has to be synchronized as well.This thesis has resulted in an exemplary application suite for testing distributed software. The thesis describes the method used for implementation as well as a description of the actual application suite that was developed. During the development several important factors and improvements for such a system was identified, which are described at the end of the thesis even though some of them never made it into the actual implementation.
