AbstractAs a developer of database-driven applications you will be faced with difficult choices, when it comes to choosing database, server and programming language. For the result to be satisfactory it requires the different techniques to interact well with each other and also fulfill performance expectations. This is even more important when the application is deployed to the cloud and the response time plays a major role.This paper evaluates different databases and their performance. To test the databases there was an application made in the server script language PHP or Hypertext Preprocessor and it was deployed to Windows Azure cloud platform. The test applications task is to call and load databases by controlled requests which creates, reads, updates and deletes data in an relatively large extent.The results shows that locale databases or databases in the same data center as the server generates the fastest response.

This is a study where the purpose was to investigate whether preschool teachers have a positive or negative attitude to outdoor education. Their view of outdoors education is also treated. The methods used were questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. The survey was sent to all preschool teachers in three municipalities and on a social network. The interviews were conducted at a preschool, which had a form of outdoor profile.

The purpose of this essay is to acquire variables that explain and may be used as a base for wage estimation in the private sector in Sweden. Ett ökat antal psykologiska skadeförebyggande interventioner visar att det är möjligt att förebygga idrottsskador genom kognitiv beteendeträning. Användandet av biofeedback tillsammans med kognitiv beteendeträning i skadeförebyggande syfte är dock en relativt outforskad interventionsstrategi (Johnson, 2007). Syftet med studien var att undersöka om det genom interventionsbaserad kognitiv beteendeträning i kombination med biofeedbackanvändning gick att minska antalet idrottsskador för fotbollsspelare. Deltagare ifrån fyra idrottsgymnasier (16-19 år) delades in i en experimentgrupp (n=13) och en kontrollgrupp (n=14).

The concept of sustainable development has been pervasive in recent years and many organizations choose to implement sustainability and adapt their activities accordingly. The purpose of this study have been to explore how a collaboration on the use of waste materials may look to analyze what influences cooperation. A case study has been carried out examining a Swedish state regional project aimed at creating partnerships between actors and utilizing textile waste with the help of design. The study was conducted using qualitative methods and the collection of data has been done through interviews and by examining documents. The results show that there are seven key factors that affect cooperation: expectations, commitment, internal communication, a strong non-profit actor, individual treatment, personal networks and the diversity of actors.

Syftet: att undersöka om ytbehandling med värmebehandlat silan ger en högre bindningsstyrka till adhesivt cement hos en litiumdisilikatbaserad glaskeram, jämfört med kombinationen etsning och silanisering. Material och metod: 12 litiumdisilikatbaserade keramiska block pressades. Blocken delades parvis in i sex grupper och ytbehandlades med etsmedel och/eller silan med eventuell påföljande värmebehandling. Blocken cementerades samman varpå mikrostavar sektionerades fram, som sedan termocyklades. 10 provkroppar ur varje grupp valdes ut för ett microtensile bond strength test. Frakturytorna bedömdes i mikroskop.

Context. In today?s society we use smart cards in many areas, NFC is a smart card technology that allows contactless interaction between a reader and the tag, the tag is often in the form of a card. NFC can be used for various payment methods or as access card to a building which makes life easier. In previous studies, the technique has proven to be weak to attacks using an NFC reader connected to a computer.

More often consumers demand instant dry soup that can be prepared with a water temperature below 100o C, which is currently not possible, because the dry soup becomes too thin when using water with a lower temperature. In this study, various kinds of starch studies were made to optimize the starch used in the existing product to make it more viscous at both high and low temperatures. The result was that one of the two starches present in the existing product was retained by change in quantity as it contributed to important flavor parameters. The second was removed and replaced with a starch that made the product more viscous at lower temperatures. To find out if the new product differed from the existing product a viscosity measurement and a sensory paired preference test were made.

The Swedish Warmblood riding horse is a popular horse for sport in Sweden, and the breeding goal is to produce competitive horses in both show jumping and dressage. The breed has its origin in native Swedish cavalry horses but has been highly influenced by foreign stallions throughout the years. Breeding values are estimated based on the results from young horse field test, which are held for 3- or 4-year old horses, and competition data. The young horse field tests are highly correlated with later performances in competition. The total proportion of horses with own observations to include in the genetic evaluation are slightly under 50 %, and in most cases their pedigrees are known.

Sammanfattning:De ökande testdatavolymerna som krävs för att testa moderna System-On-Chip (SOC) bidrar i hög grad till den ökande produktionskostnaden. De stora testdatavolymerna kräver stora och dyra Automatic Test Equipment-minnen (ATE-minnen). För att minska behovet av dessa minnen så har olika komprimeringsmetoder utvecklats.Denna rapport beskriver arbetet med att implementera en given komprimeringsmetod för testdata till SOC. Den metod som används heter vector repeat och den implementeras genom skapandet av ett för ändamålet avsett dataprogrogram. För att vector repeat ska fungera effektivt så förutsätts det att in- och utgångarna på den ATE som används kan delas in i olika portar.

The purpose of this essay is to examine the everyday beliefs about mental illness surrounding the disease and how these are expressed and affects the sick life and identity. The focus is on the sick perspective, where a concept of norms, normalization and taboo forms a basis in the use of materials, which here consists of qualitative interviews and Internet forums. This is analyzed and then discussed with the help from structuralism and poststructuralism approach, where I mainly refer to the social anthropologist Mary Douglas, ethnologist Lars-Eric Jönsson and philosopher Michael Foucault. Clustered Columnstore Indexes (CCI) and In-Memory Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) are two new techniques that were introduced with Microsoft?s new database management system SQL Server 2014.The thesis analyzes these two techniques, describes the theory behind them and also the background information that needs to be known to understand more of the new techniques. Performance tests of the new techniques have been performed to see how much faster response time we can get and less storage we need to use where the result is represented by performance diagrams and a compression diagram. This thesis is a cooperative work with a company called Trimma and the result is used as support to decide if these new techniques could be of advantage for the company.The test consists of five test queries with different purposes. The result is illustrated by diagrams that show the result and another diagram that shows how much the data gets compressed with the different techniques.

The aim of this final thesis is to make it easier for the customer of a new designed house to get a picture of what the house will look like inside before it has been built.A method, which can be applied by any construction company who likes to visualize there buildings, has been designed and tested. One works after a regular design planning which is transformed into a three dimensional model of the house. In a rendering program, materials and surfaces are chosen for the model and then a picture of the finished product is made. The programs used for this work are ADT 2006 and VIZ Render.To evaluate the use of this method I?ve chosen to cooperate with LB-Hus which is a housing company that is specialized in building detached houses.
