In the light of some company scandals the Swedish Code of Corporate Governance, the Code, was introduced in the year of 2004 to reinforce confidence in how Swedish listed companies are managed. As many of the other European codes of corporate governance, the Swedish Code is based on the principle of ?comply or explain?. The need for corporate governance regulation arises from the inherent conflict of interest between owners and managers. This conflict is limited in companies controlled by a family in contrast to companies that lack a strong owner.

Vid adhesiv cementering, så kallad bonding, rekommenderar fabrikanter att glaskeramers cementeringsyta etsas innan applicering av silan. Att värmebehandla silan med respektive utan etsning, har i tidigare studier visat en höjning av bindningsstyrkan mellan olika material. Den litiumdisilikatbaserade glaskeramen IPS e.max® Press har funnits på marknaden sedan 2005 och få studier har gjorts på ytbehandlingar och dess effekter på materialet och bindningen till olika material. Syftet: att undersöka om ytbehandling med värmebehandlat silan ger en högre bindningsstyrka till adhesivt cement hos en litiumdisilikatbaserad glaskeram, jämfört med kombinationen etsning och silanisering. Material och metod: 12 litiumdisilikatbaserade keramiska block pressades. Blocken delades parvis in i sex grupper och ytbehandlades med etsmedel och/eller silan med eventuell påföljande värmebehandling. Blocken cementerades samman varpå mikrostavar sektionerades fram, som sedan termocyklades. 10 provkroppar ur varje grupp valdes ut för ett microtensile bond strength test. Frakturytorna bedömdes i mikroskop.

Context. In today?s society we use smart cards in many areas, NFC is a smart card technology that allows contactless interaction between a reader and the tag, the tag is often in the form of a card. NFC can be used for various payment methods or as access card to a building which makes life easier. In previous studies, the technique has proven to be weak to attacks using an NFC reader connected to a computer.

More often consumers demand instant dry soup that can be prepared with a water temperature below 100o C, which is currently not possible, because the dry soup becomes too thin when using water with a lower temperature. In this study, various kinds of starch studies were made to optimize the starch used in the existing product to make it more viscous at both high and low temperatures. The result was that one of the two starches present in the existing product was retained by change in quantity as it contributed to important flavor parameters. The second was removed and replaced with a starch that made the product more viscous at lower temperatures. To find out if the new product differed from the existing product a viscosity measurement and a sensory paired preference test were made.

The Swedish Warmblood riding horse is a popular horse for sport in Sweden, and the breeding goal is to produce competitive horses in both show jumping and dressage. The breed has its origin in native Swedish cavalry horses but has been highly influenced by foreign stallions throughout the years. Breeding values are estimated based on the results from young horse field test, which are held for 3- or 4-year old horses, and competition data. The young horse field tests are highly correlated with later performances in competition. The total proportion of horses with own observations to include in the genetic evaluation are slightly under 50 %, and in most cases their pedigrees are known.

Sammanfattning:De ökande testdatavolymerna som krävs för att testa moderna System-On-Chip (SOC) bidrar i hög grad till den ökande produktionskostnaden. De stora testdatavolymerna kräver stora och dyra Automatic Test Equipment-minnen (ATE-minnen). För att minska behovet av dessa minnen så har olika komprimeringsmetoder utvecklats.Denna rapport beskriver arbetet med att implementera en given komprimeringsmetod för testdata till SOC. Den metod som används heter vector repeat och den implementeras genom skapandet av ett för ändamålet avsett dataprogrogram. För att vector repeat ska fungera effektivt så förutsätts det att in- och utgångarna på den ATE som används kan delas in i olika portar.

Clustered Columnstore Indexes (CCI) and In-Memory Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) are two new techniques that were introduced with Microsoft?s new database management system SQL Server 2014.The thesis analyzes these two techniques, describes the theory behind them and also the background information that needs to be known to understand more of the new techniques. Performance tests of the new techniques have been performed to see how much faster response time we can get and less storage we need to use where the result is represented by performance diagrams and a compression diagram. This thesis is a cooperative work with a company called Trimma and the result is used as support to decide if these new techniques could be of advantage for the company.The test consists of five test queries with different purposes. The result is illustrated by diagrams that show the result and another diagram that shows how much the data gets compressed with the different techniques.

The aim of my study is to investigate if and in that case how the writing process and texts written by students in the upper secondary school are affected by the writing tool; does it matter if they write their texts on a computer or by longhand? Another objective is to compare such an effect with the findings of previous studies performed on earlier generations of writers. The first part of my study was a survey. It showed that two thirds of the 67 students participating thought that they would have written better texts in the national writing test if they had been able to use computers. In the second part of the study each of the fourteen participants wrote one text on computer and another by hand.

This degree project deals with creating an Android application for managing representation orders placed in stores as well as evaluating Androids usage as a platform for that line of work. The evaluation will be based on tests of the application on an Android phone together with a survey consisting of written questions and a practical test of the application..

Detta examensarbete på 22,5 hp är en del av mekatronikingenjörsutbildningen vid Karlstads universitet. Uppdragsgivaren är Valmet AB (tidigare Metso AB) i Hagfors som tillverkar och säljer malsegmentslitdelar för pappersindustri och massaindustri.Projektet behandlar en av de tre formmaskiner som finns på företaget, kallad M01. Formningsmomentet är grunden till gjutresultatet av produkterna och i dagsläget är det för stora variationer på kvalitetsutfall, delvis orsakat av för många frihetsgrader i hur maskinen opereras. Målet är att komma fram till en automatiserad lösning av utstötning av skalhalvor, hålla en jämnare nivå i sandkassen genom nivåmätning samt minska spill vid påfyllningen av sand.En tryckvakt och en ultraljudsgivare användes för att kunna mäta maskinens tillstånd och som styrning användes en extern PLC, Siemens LOGO! utöver den ordinarie PLC:n som används.Resultatet blev en prototyp som tillsammans med ett antal nya sensorer kan göra testmätningar och tillfälligt styra maskinen för att få en anvisning om det kan vara en bra lösning i framtiden. Lösningen ska senare kunna utvecklas fullt ut med bättre sensorer och dess funktioner ska kunna implementeras i den ordinarie PLC:n för att användas i samtliga formmaskiner.Alla lösningar fick inte fullt önskvärt resultat men de är ändå ett steg i rätt riktning.

Nötcenter Viken is a Swedish nucleus herd for dairy cattle. The goal for the farm is to select suitable mothers for the next top generation of bulls. Today the selection for udder health is based on a pedigree index and phenotype data. The pedigree index is based on the cow?s father and grandfathers breeding values.

I den här rapporten utreds möjligheten att fräsa laxkilar av konstruktionsstål, enkomponent som ingår i de vågkraftgeneratorer som utvecklas vid Uppsala universitet,genom att använda en industrirobot. Denna användning av robotar inom bearbetningskiljer sig från den konventionella genom att roboten här genom helabearbetningsmomentet håller det bearbetade stycket. Den vanliga användningen avrobotar inom bearbetning är att roboten används för att plocka stycket i och ur enbearbetningsmaskin. Genom att istället låta roboten hålla stycket genom helabearbetningen kan dess flexibilitet utnyttjas.Rapporten presenterar resultat av den använda robotens uppmätta egenskaper samtpraktiska tester av fräsning. Ett antal laxkilar har tillverkats med metoden och utifrånanalyser av dessa har en kvalitetsmässigt och produktivitetsmässigt utvärdering avmetoden gjorts.Ett robotverktyg för att hålla ämnet som ska bearbetas har designats och en prototyp avverktyget har tillverkats.

IT-projekt bedrivs i många företag av olika anledningar. Orsaker till att genomföra ett IT-projekt kan exempelvis vara att hänga med i IT-utvecklingen, utveckla IT-produkter eller att stärka ett företags konkurrenskraft. Det spenderas stora summor och mycket tid på att bedriva IT-projekt och många människor arbetar i IT-projekt. Men alla IT-projekt får inte en lyckad utgång, utan många misslyckas. Ett misslyckande i ett IT-projekt kan påverkas av flera faktorer.Syftet med denna fallstudie är att analysera ett misslyckat IT-projekt för att komma fram till vilken eller vilka faktorer som påverkade misslyckandet och på vilket sätt.

The division of Electricity at Uppsala University runs a project called Lysekil project, they have designed a buoy that uses the waves to create electric power from a generator attached to the bottom of the sea.Uppsala University is closely connected with the company Seabased and the university makes use of their facilities in Lysekil. When they designed the buoy issues occurred, the geometric design was flawed, brackets with a short shelf life and it is generally uneconomic.A study visit was done in Lysekil on Seabased facility. With this visit the project started, which is to improve the design of the buoy and the attachment of wires leading to the generator. In this project we have chosen to use a beam system with three beams that are attached to the buoy. Then a wire attached to a plate that sits between the beams will be leading to the generator. Two proposals for construction are created, what distinguishes them are the brackets between the beams and the buoy.From these constructions, the design that is considered most optimal for our project is chosen.All parts of the buoy have been modeled and the drawings are designed in ProEngineer software.The two constructions are compared with each other, but the whole focus is on the second and final structure. The report begins with an introduction describing Lysekil project, and a task description of our project.The project aims to produce an optimal buoy that will be easy to design, materials restrictive with good durability and an economical solution.Wave power true function has been studied, mechanical and finite element analysis of beams, buoy and plate design.This has been presented in this report, where in the various chapters can read more about the processes. Although the relevant facts and information on this project and buoy development is included.

This thesis describes the redesign ofequipment designed for drying bags thatis used in Fresenius Kabis´manufacturing of their nutritionmedicine in Uppsala. The need of thistask arise during the start of thedevelopment of a new packaging line werethis equipment were meant to be used. Anevaluation of the bagdryers capacity andcapability was necessary.The work started with gathering ofinformation from suppliers of the usedcomponents and from the responsibleengineers for this equipment. Aneducation to learn how the equipmentworked and how to operate it were taken.That was followed by the creation of astudy plan were the tests were plannedto test different parameters effect onthe drying result and to see if thebagdryer managed to handle the bags ofthe correct format in the pace that theequipment should be designed for.The test results detected a need ofdesigning a unit with a function thatholds the bags in place while passingthrough the dryer in order to attainhigh quality results. The results werelater used for optimization of thedesign.
