Detta examensarbete utgör resultatet av en studie på uppdrag av byggföretaget Peab och dess dotterbolag Skandinaviska Byggelement. Syftet med studien har varit att undersöka transporternas påverkan till följd av en högre grad prefabricering vid byggnationer av flerfamiljshus. Med hjälp av kartläggning och data har en analys renderat i rekommendationer för företagen.Från Skandinaviska Byggelements fabrik i Katrineholm transporteras prefabricerade skalväggar till Peab och övriga kunder. Studien har därmed en helhetssyn från underleverantörer till kund för att försöka identifiera problem som stör transportflödet genom försörjningskedjan.Transporter till och från Skandinaviska Byggelement fungerar i nuläget tillfredsställande, med få praktiska problem och en tillfredsställande fyllnadsgrad. Transporterna är väl integrerade i Skandinaviska Byggelements strategi att hålla låga lagernivåer på ingående material.

With the prospect of future construction on the Skutskär Pulp Mill property, Stora Enso Fine Paper has initiated an investigation of soil contaminants and a risk assessment of these contaminants. A soil and groundwater investigation has therefore been conducted on an open area of about 16 000 square meters, situated between the current wood room and digester house. To be able to integrate this study into an investigation for the whole industrial property, the study has been carried out as a phase 2 study according to the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency?s Methods of Inventories of Contaminated sites (MIFO).The site investigation has involved soil and groundwater sampling, together with the analysis of heavy metals and organic contaminants. The degree of hazard posed by the contaminants, the level of contamination, the potential for migration of the contaminants, as well as the degree to which protection of human health and the environment is required in the area, have been weighed together for an overall risk assessment of the area with regard to human health and the environment.The investigated area was built up by filling in the coastal waters.

Government regulations and customs duties restrict the import of trucks to some of the markets to which Scania tries to sell their trucks. The distribution problem due to these regulations is solved by the foreign assembly department, KD, at Scania. This means that competence is needed and costs are added not related to Scania's core operations.The aim of this master thesis has been to analyse and to evaluate alternative ways of managing the packing operations considering cost, quality and work organisation. To study and examine the work methods and operations of today and also to present methods measuring the operations effectiveness and productivity.We have used the system approach to maintain totality and to understand the component's relation to this totality. Field studies combined with studies of relevant literature and studies of other companies operations have given us the knowledge and the understanding of the packing operations needed.

Användningen av pellets har ökat kraftigt de senaste åren och har blivit ett viktigt verktyg för att minska miljöpåverkan. I energibranschen är viktigt utreda möjligheten att effektivisera tillverkningsprocessen för att ligga i framkant av utvecklingen och göra bränslet till ett attraktivt val för konsumenterna. En stor del av pelletstillverkarnas utgifter går till att torka det råmaterial som pellets består av. Torkning och transport av material är två energikrävande processer som är nödvändiga i många industrier och kan ibland innebära stora utgifter såväl kostnadsmässigt som miljömässigt. Pneumatisk transporttorkning är ett sätt att kombinera torkning och transport av material och tekniken kan vara lämplig att använda vid pelletstillverkning.

This study focuses on carpooling and how carpools can be better integrated into today's society. The purpose of the study is to investigate what affects the motorist?s decisions to become a member of a carpool. The study will highlight the barriers and drivers of membership in a carpool. It is important for the future to change the attitude of motorists and get more motorists to choose more sustainable modes, as is the concept of carpooling is a good solution.The study is based on a qualitative approach with six respondents from the Eskilstuna municipality.

TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) is a transport protocol designed for the wired Internet. In wireless networks packet losses occur more frequently due to the unreliability of the physical link. The main problem is that TCP treats all losses as congestion, which leads to a lower throughput. Ad hoc networks are multihop wireless networks of mobile nodes, where each node can allow other packets to pass through it. Topology changes often occur and may lead to packet losses and delays, which TCP misinterprets as congestion.

Varje dag begås misstag utav människor. För piloter kan dessa misstag bli fatala. Länge har man vid flygolyckor endast sett till de direkta misstag som blivit begångna och på så sätt skaffat sig en syndabock. I detta arbete kan dock vikten av att uppmärksamma faktorer som varit bakomliggande i organisationen påvisas. Då en olycka inträffar skiljer man mellan osäkra handlingar och latenta förhållanden.

Syftet med detta arbete är att försöka utforma en modell för att analysera olika matavfallssystem. Detta arbete görs med skärskilt Kiruna kommun i tanke då detta arbete är en del i en önskan från deras sida gentemot Luleå tekniska universitet. För att göra en analys så byggs en systemanalysmodell utifrån vilka alternativ som är intressanta att studera i det här fallet brännbart, en hybrid lösning, kärlinsamling för rötning och köksavfallskvarn. Dessa alternativ valdes sedan att utvärderas gentemot ett antal parametrar inom områdena användaraspekter, transport, process och slutavsättning, energi och säkerhet. Dessa parametrar ska sedan utvärderas och poängsättas.

This examination work is the final work in our education to become a Bachelor of Science inMechanical Engineering by the University of Lund.The main purpose with this work has been to develop a new effective material handling system for TPPM AB in Lund since the existing system starts to become out of date. The future system that is going to be installed shall have the capacity to support all machines with unit-, semi- and finished goods during full production. The work has also included studying the possibilities to change the material flow in a positive way between the storage and the production when one is using existing buildings.During our work we have been used a simulation program called AutoMod, performing company visits, interviews and reviewed internal and external information to create a picture of what the best conclusion can be. During the work we have contacted five suppliers to receive system solutions and quotatioris. The suppliers, which have been contacted, are Swisslog, Moving, Rocia, Christensen & Hansen and ABB.

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur etisk produktion påverkar konsumenters attityd gentemot en ökad investering vid konsumtion. Vedertagen teori menar på att etisk produktion har en positiv påverkan på den genomsnittlige konsumentens attityd och att konsumenter kan tänka sig att betala ett högre pris för produkter producerade på etiskt vis. Med syfte att konkretisera begreppet CSR och underlätta för respondenterna i enkätundersökningen används begreppet etisk produktion med hänvisning till äggkonsumtion. Aspekterna av begreppet etisk produktion som ligger till grund för denna studie är miljövänlig transport och god hönshållning. Studiens resultat redogör för att konsumenter är positivt inställda till att betala ett högre pris för produkter producerade på ett etiskt vis och att etisk produktion är ett produktattribut som påverkar konsumenternas attityd gentemot konsumtion..

Bakgrund: I Sverige drabbas cirka 30 000 personer av stroke varje år. Stroke är ett samlingsnamn för hjärnskador orsakade av blödning eller infarkt i hjärnan. Stroke uppenbarar sig som en plötslig förlust av kroppsfunktion som styrs av hjärnan. En genomsnittlig strokepatient förlorar nästan två miljoner neuroner, 14 miljarder synapser och 12 km myeliniserade nervfibrer varje minut som stroken är obehandlad. För dessa patienter krävs det en snabb handläggning och snabba insatser för att minimera de hjärnskador som uppstår.

Syftet med denna undersökning var att undersöka vad som motiverar tunneltågförare hos Veolia Transport AB. Frågeställningarna var: Vilka faktorer främjar respektive motverkar tunneltågförares trivsel? Vilka egenskaper kännetecknar arbetet som tunneltågförare? Vilka stressorer upplevs i arbetet som tunneltågförare? Vad motiverar tunneltågförare att stanna kvar i arbetet. Metoder som användes var intervjuer samt ett skattningsformulär. Resultaten visade att arbetet kunde kategoriseras som ett högpress arbete med höga krav och medelmåttig kontroll.

Stereotypic pacing is frequently observed in captive carnivores, however the underlying causes of this behaviour remain somewhat unclear. One of these possible causes are unpredictable feeding signals, which may give rise to frustration and subsequent pacing. Animal keepers at Nordens Ark had noticed that their Amur leopards had shown stereotypic pacing in connection to the passing of ATVs (All Terrain Vehicles) used by animal keepers primarly when feeding the animals in the park. The aim of this study was to investigate whether the stereotypic pacing of the two Amur leopards at Nordens Ark were affected by the introduction of a signal associated with feeding. The leopards were trained by classical conditioning to associate the sound of a siren with the delivery of food by an animal keeper.

Joniserande strålning, i dagligt tal oegentligt benämnd radioaktiv strålning, förekommer naturligt och utgör en hälsofara för allt organiskt liv. De viktigaste källorna till sådan strålning är radon som finns i varierande mängd i bergrunden, sådant radioaktivt material som finns i all materia (t.ex. Kol-14, Kalium-40), strålning som uppkommer i samband med mänsklig aktivitet (medicinska tillämpningar, kärnkraft, kärnvapenprov) och den kosmiska strålningen. Av dessa ökar den kosmiska strålningen med ökad höjd över havsytan, men samtidigt avtar den sammanlagda stråldosen från de andra källorna något. Sammantaget sker dock en viss ökning av stråldosen med ökande höjd.

This final thesis is initiated by the wood fuel department at the Swedish forest company Sveaskog as part of a project which also involves two other final thesises. The overall goal of the project is to investigate Sveaskog´s possibilities to produce and sell different wood fuel assortments in Västerbotten and the southern parts of Norrland. The aim of this thesis is to investigate how much wood fuel Sveaskog can produce in the area during the next five years and what that would cost. Furthermore the thesis will investigate the total possible supply of wood fuel from all other possible producers in the area. Treated assortments are forest residues from final fellings, whole trees from direct wood fuel thinnings, non industrial wood and industrial by-products from sawmills. The main effort to investigate Sveaskog´s production possibilities has been made to calculate the possible annual amount of forest residues and fuel from wood fuel thinnings that can be produced.
