The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a special unit for patients who is in the need for emergency life-sustaining measures and every patient has complex medical- technical equipment. The experiences of a critical illness and the needs of critical care are experienced in different ways. The purpose of this study was to describe the experiences from patients in the ICU and how this experience has an influence on the patients. The method was a study of literature with a qualitative inception based on eight scientific articles and the analysis of content has been inspired by Graneheim and Lundman (2003). The result of the study is presented by four categories: to loose the ability to make themselves understood, to be forced to adjust to the environment of caring, to have the lack of connection with reality and to be in an intensive care environment, The results showed that patients in the ICU are affected by the attitude from the staff, the equipment around them as well as the sounds and lights in the environment there.

Palliativ vård innebär att ge aktiv total vård till patienten i ett skede när sjukdom inte längre kan botas. Sjuksköterskor som jobbar inom den palliativa vården måste kunna fånga upp patientens behov. Det måste också finnas ett starkt engagemang och lyhördhet för patienten, samt att sjuksköterskan ska kunna se döden som en naturlig del av livet. Enligt sjuksköterskorna är kommunikationen grundläggande för förståelsen mellan henne och patienten, för att kunna känna igen och förstå de känslor och reaktioner som patienten visar. Syftet med studien var att belysa vad sjuksköterskkor upplever vara viktigt i mötet med patienter inom palliativ vård.

When children are hospitalized they will face a new and unknown environment. Many children experience this situation as stressful and with fear. It is important that the nurse is aware of this fact in order to facilitate the hospitalization for the child. The purpose of this study is to investigate the fear that children feel when they are hospitalized, and to investigate the meaning of being well prepared for clinical examinations and procedures. The method used was a literature review.

Bakgrund: I Sverige lever ca 20 000 personer med stomi. En stomi medför en kroppslig förändring som individen måste förhålla sig till. Både kroppen och dess funktioner som tidigare tagits för givna medvetandegörs. Det finns en oro för vad andra ska tycka och att stomin ska hindra i det dagliga livet. Empowerment sågs som en röd tråd i bloggarna och växte fram som referensram under arbetets gång.

Den palliativa vården har i dag hamnat i fokus, den bedrivs både på sjukhus, i den primära vården och i hemmen. Palliativ vård innebär inte att bota utan att lindra symtom och öka livskvaliteten för patienter med livshotande sjukdom. För de som befinner sig i livets slutskede är det av stor vikt att de psykiska, fysiska, sociala, andliga och existentiella behoven tillfredsställs för att lindra det lidande som uppstår. Syftet med litteraturstudien är att beskriva patientens upplevelse att vara vid livets slut, för att färigenom få större förståelse för palliativ vård. Studien bygger på två biografier som handlar om att vara i livets slut utifrån två kvinnors egna upplevelser.

According to statistics, a significant increase in sickness has occurred in the public sector in recent decades in Sweden. Human therapeutic professions is the area where the illness is most prevalent. The purpose of this study was through a qualitative method and hermeneutic approaches explore how conscious six social workers in the social services are on stress and how they cope with it. Further it investigates and analyzes how these results affect their daily work.One important result due to stress is that the social workers ability to treat their clients is impaired and they are less able to be empathetic. Inadequacy in the work environment leads to a sense of insufficiency by social workers, and a reduced quality of life.

Syftet med mitt examensprojekt har varit att genom min designprocess försöka arbeta fram en terminalmöbel där flygplatsen har stått i fokus då det fungerat som min tilltänkta kontext. I min möbel har jag även försökt tillämpa det formspråk som finns hos flygplan, för att på så sätt försöka skapa en möbel som är väl anpassad för sin tänkta kontext.Genomgående i hela projektet har hållbarhet, vardagens estetik samt användning varit centrala begrepp då dessa var de tilldelade ledord som vi fick i början av projektet.I processen arbetade jag först fram tre olika idékoncept som jag valde att kalla ?väskor med sittyta?, modulmöbler samt flygplansinspirerade möbler. Av dessa tre valde jag sedan att gå vidare med de flygplansinspirerade möblerna.Förutom användandet av metoder så som observationer på Kalmar Airport, Arlanda Airport samt Helsingfors Airport, ITK (Identity Tool Kit), Stateboard och Futureboard, för att på så sätt beskriva min syn på dagens terminalmöbler. Så har jag även för att stärka min möbels utformning gjort research på olika typer av sittställningar som är anpassade vid olika typer av användning.

Nurses have a fundamental responsibility to relieve suffering, and also to offer support to both the individual and the family.Aim: To illuminate experiences of being a family member to a person with schizophrenia.Method: A systematic literature review was chosen. Nine articles were included. After having analyzed the results six categories were found.Result: The family members experienced the disease as fluctuating and stressful. Some felt ashamed for their sick family member and withdrew from the rest of the society.

The aim of the study was to illustrate how music therapy can be used in the care of patients with schizophrenia and other psychotic illness.The method used was a literature review. Scientific articles were searched in PubMed, Cinahl, PsycINFO och Scopus databases with an outcome of ten articles, with in total 330 participants, that underwent quality and outcomes analysis.The results showed that music therapy could provide potential improvement in the patients' social functions and that it could also improve negative, some positive and general schizophrenia and psychotic symptoms in some patients. The form of music therapy used was often creative music activities with music therapist, with or without structure, or individually customized. The length of treatment varied widely. It was not possible to draw conclusions about which type of music therapy was best.

This study is a first attempt to try to understand what the variables could be that make the person responsible for the grave sign up for grave gardening services by the church or to maintain the grave by him- or herself. There has been almost no research done within this subject. This study has been made by a qualitative research method and interviews have been performed with both persons responsible for the grave who have gardening services made by the church and with those who maintain the grave by themselves. The characteristics that are affecting consumer behaviour and the buyer decision process are presented in the theoretical part of this study. That is done so it can be seen if a comparison between the results of the study and the basic theoretical concept is possible, resulting in an understanding of how the costumers think and argue about this question.
