This thesis examines a sample of Pitted Ware pottery from the Gotlandic site of Ajvide in regard to the spatial and temporal relationship of the shards. Ajvide Stone Age site have been extensively excavated over the past 25 years and the most recent analysis of pottery was carried out by Inger Österholm in 1987 and new analyses of the material are therefore greatly needed. Pottery from three sample areas was analysed in regard to their distribution, decoration, fragmentation, part of pot and quality of the goods. To analyse the material in a contextual way a multivariate statistical analysis called correspondence analysis was used. Two areas denominated ?dark areas?, which Österholm defined previously, as possible ritual sites, and one reference area with mixed material were chosen for the analysis.

The aim of this thesis is to illustrate the principal problem of the study of national self-images and by questioning the congruent existence of one in the case of Sweden. Through the use of qualitative method and semi-structured interviews the ambition of the study is to compare and to understand the national self-images portrayed in a major Swedish town, Stockholm and to that of a smaller town on the countryside, Sjöbo. A social constructionist approach in co-operation with key temporal and spasial dimensions are used to penetrate the interviews at hand. The main conclusions drawn from this study highlights the difficulties in addressing the concept of a congruent national self-image. Several major discrepancies appear in the analysed material, mainly in the past and the external dimensions, both from a regional approach, but also very much within the local entities themselves..

The aim of this masters thesis was to study how the members of a small non-profit organisation perceived the web forum, compared to the other information channels of the organisation. The organisation was defined as a virtual community. A literature review was conducted. The theory construction was based on the sensemaking theory. Interview questions were constructed based on the literature review and the sensemaking theory.

In recent years, Information Technology (IT) has gained more importance in workinglife. More and more organisations has shown an interest about how technology can beused to manage the competence of the employees, and how IT can contribute to thedevelopment of the organisation. In order to achieve this, there is a need for suitabletools to support this process. Even though the implementation of competencemanagement systems (CMS) is a highly up to date question for many organisations,there is a lack of scientific reserach concering this area. This study will contribute tothe research area by examining how CMS is used by employees in daily working life.The manager and the employees in a healthcare organisation in Sweden were observedduring appraisals in order to observe how they used the CMS to evaluate competence.The appraisals were considered a suitable place for studing CMS in use within anorganisation.By using theoretical perspecitves such as the Sociomateriality and Situated Learning,the study can contribute to the knowledge of the entanglement between technologyand working practice.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur man ser på lärande och arbetar med lärande inom två organisationer från ett ledningsperspektiv, för att sedan ställa detta i relation till teorier om den lärande organisationen. De organisationer som undersöks är ett byggföretag och ett arbetsförmedlingskontor. Studien tar avstamp i en genomgång av begreppet lärande organisation. Begreppets historiska bakgrund och viktiga förgrundsfigurer tas upp för att sedan visa hur begreppet har utvecklats och ser ut idag.Studien har genomförts med en kvalitativ ansats och metoden som använts är informantintervjuer. Tre personer inom respektive organisation har intervjuats, alla med insikt och inflytande över hur man arbetar med frågor som rör lärande och kompetensutveckling.

This paper aims to examine performance monitoring in project organisations. The number of organisations that regularly performs projects as a key part of their operations grows rapidly, why this topic has become of large interest. Through a theoretical framework developed by Lars Östman in 1977, the performance monitoring system of the Swedish government-owned public utility Svenska Kraftnät is studied closely. The results from this analysis are then linked to an analysis of the organisation's internal structure through Mintzbergs generic organisational structures. Close connections are found between organisational structure and performance monitoring, which leads on to interesting observations about the connection between size of a project organisation and choice of monitoring method..

Purpose: To evaluate the management development course held at FöreningsSparbanken in Ronneby during 2000. The evaluation aims to map and describe what effects the course has had on the participants. We will assess to what degree the effects meets the objectives of the course set by the manager of the bank (future management recruitment, leadership, change catalyst, aligning the strive towards a shared organisational objective). Above mentioned also implies that the organisation should be influenced in some regards. Conclusion: Our conclusion is that all of the participants have as a result of the course increased their emotional intelligence in varying levels.

Vårt syfte med detta examensarbete har varit att undersöka på vilket sätt man anpassar organisation och undervisning i svenskämnet utifrån andraspråkselevers särskilda behov. Som grund för vår undersökning valde vi att genomföra observationer och intervjuer på två skolor i Malmö. Vårt insamlade material diskuterade vi sedan utifrån den forskning och de styrdokument som vi bedömde vara relevanta. Våra forskningsfrågor var: ? Hur är svenskundervisningen organiserad för elever med annat modersmål än svenska? ? Hur bedömer man elevers behov av undervisning i SV respektive SVA? ? Hur förhåller sig undervisningen till styrdokumenten och centrala begrepp inom andraspråksforskning? Vårt resultat har visat att lärare som undervisar elever med annat modersmål än svenska är behjälpta av en tydlig organisation, en hög medvetenhet kring, samt levande pedagogiska diskussioner om andraspråksutveckling.

The purpose of this essay is to study how the local creators of a "master plan" for the swedish city Kristinehamn, the years between 1940 to -43, looked on their planning. It is an analysis of ideas case study. A hypothesis is upheld for the research: that the local physical planning had largely extended ambitions what regards central state control in a way that is similar to planned economy. Questions that are asked include: Was the planning assumed to be a tool for the state to regulate the environment? Can the planning be seen as a mean to control the society in time and space? This causes that there might be a problem to benefit experience from accident investigations, for improving the overall safety in the municipality. The main purpose of this report has been to clarify how experience from accident investigations, can be of benefit to society on a local level.

En av de viktigaste nycklarna till en lärande organisation, är teamlärande. Samarbetar och arbetar de anställda tillsammans så överstiger det den enskildes kunnande. Facilitatorer arbetar med förändringsprocesser där de anställda utmanas och coachas mot att samverka aktivt för att tillsammans bilda en lärande organisation, där ett mål med processen är att leda organisationer mot att fortlöpande vilja eftersträva förbättringar med andra ord bli en lärande organisation. Det har visat att det finns en viss problematik kring att skapa grupper som frambringar förutsättningar för lärande och utveckling. Vi kände då att vi kunde bidra till den pedagogiska vetenskapen i anknytning till detta problem genom vår studie som riktar sig mot facilitatorns upplevelser av hur de påverkar förutsättningarna för utveckling och lärande i/hos arbetsgrupper.

The purpose of our essay was to understand better how two companies manage ethnical diversity in their organization and standards of a multicultural organization. For study objects we selected two companies nominated as ?good examples? of companies working with ethnical diversity in their organization. The study objects are Föreningsparbanken and Pågen AB in Sweden. The result verifies that both companies have by some term a heterogenic staff of workmen in some parts of the organization although the heterogeneity occurs only on a lower level at the organizational hierarchy.

I dagens samhälle ökar mängden information som användarna lagrar på sina datorer och samtidigt ökar hoten mot informationen. Genom säkerhetskopiering kan informationen skyddas mot olika hot så som hårddiskkrascher och liknande men ändå försvinner information hela tiden. För att undersöka hur vanligt det är att användare utför säkerhetskopiering genomförs en enkätundersökning. Enkätundersökningen undersöker dels om användare utför säkerhetskopiering men även varför eller varför inte. Undersökningen utgår ifrån TMT, Temporal Motivation Theory, för att beskriva sambandet mellan olika faktorer som kan påverka användningen av säkerhetskopiering.

För ett kreativt ledarskap behövs kompetens inom flera olika områden. Olika former av struktur, kunskap om personal, medvetenhet om maktrelationer och det skådespel som pågår är fyra perspektiv på organisation och ledarskap som Bolman och Deal (2005) skriver om i boken Nya perspektiv på organisation och ledarskap. Syftet med rapporten är att se om det finns marknadspotential för kompetensutveckling inom ledarskap i reklambranschen i Göteborg. Detta görs genom att ställa resultatet av strukturerade intervjuer om kompetensutveckling inom ledarskap i reklambranschen i Göteborg mot några av de teorier och studier som gjorts om organisation och ledarskap. Resultatet visar att reklambyråer kompetensutvecklar inom ledarskap men att det finns ett behov av och en marknadspotential för ytterligare kompetensutveckling inom ledarskap i reklambranschen i Göteborg..
