The main purpose of this thesis is to examine how the European Union through the Directorate- General (DG) of Education and Culture, are calling forth a constructed sense of European identity amongst the citizens of the Union.It is a discourse analysis, which can be described in twofold. Firstly, it is a mapping of the European discourse; i.e. how the European Union defines the identity it seeks to mobilise. Secondly, it examines whether or not there are similarities in the European discourse of identity and the traditional nation-building discourse of national identity.According to this thesis a European identity is articulated in cultural terms, whereby its members are said to share the same values and a common cultural heritage.To bring the people of Europe closer together and to deepen awareness of their "common" history, the European Union encourages all manner of meetings and exchange schemes between Europeans. Although its goal is to develop a feeling of belonging to a shared culture, the EU is also keen to preserve the specific aspects of Europe's many cultures.

Syftet är att undersöka hur ett företag, Sveaskog, arbetar med intressentdialog i praktiken - i vilka former och med vilka syften detta kan ske. Genom att studera företagets lokala dialogmöten önskar vi skapa fördjupad förståelse för dialogfenomenet ur sändar- och mottagarperspektiv.Följande frågor ställs:- Vilka är motiven hos företaget respektive intressenterna att delta i dialogen?- Vad karaktäriserar dialogsituationen och vilka svårigheter kan formen innebära?- Hur kan mötena beskrivas i termer av symmetri/asymmetri?I undersökningen används kvalitativ metod i form av halvstrukturerade samtalsintervjuer. Intervjuer har gjorts med sju av Sveaskogs anställda samt sammanlagt nio inbjudna mötesdeltagare från ett urval möten.Studien visar att dialogen är ett värdefullt verktyg för relationsskapande, omvärldsbevakning och ökad förståelse - för både sändare och mottagare - även om idealet om symmetrisk tvåvägskommunikation och reell dialog förblir avlägsna. Ett antal fördelar och svårigheter med dialogformen har identifierats.

Syftet med studien var att ur ett genusperspektiv undersöka upplevelserna hos individer i kontakt med psykiatri och/eller socialtjänst. Förutom genus användes begrepp som livskvalité, återhämtning, makt och stigmatisering för att förstå brukarnas och personalens upplevelser. Studien, som var en tilläggsstudie till Milton Projekten, utfördes i tre kommuner i södra Skåne. Populationen var 76 brukare ur vilken ett slumpmässigt sample på 42 personer drogs, varav 17 brukare deltog. Utöver brukarna intervjuades 13 personer ur personalgruppen.

In this project, we are studying the material flow and the information flow of sample materials and the appurtenant report of deviation for the purpose to be able to suggest better solutions. The sample material, which is to be analysed, is to be continuously taken from the production flow. The purpose is to navigate the process by the results found by the analysis. Because of this, it's very important that both methods of analysis are ensured and that the sample material is representative for the production flow. AbstractVärlden förändrades 1989. Det sovjetiska samhällssystemets kollaps befäste i mångas ögon liberalismens och den fria marknadsekonomins seger över de socialistiska ideologierna. Vad som emellertid förbisågs av många författare vid denna tidpunkt, var den parallella framväxten av ett nytt globalt imperium. Detta imperium var resultatet av marknadsekonomins gradvisa expandering över världen, som med östblockets fall, slutligen konsoliderades över hela världen.I vår uppsats har vi undersökt detta imperiums maktlogik, genom att utröna vilken roll Förenta Nationernas sekretariat spelar inom det världsomspännande maktsubjektet. Detta har gjorts i två steg, där vi först fokuserar på sekretariatets repressiva makt; dess utslätning av subjektiviteter, och sedan dess produktiva makt; dess konstruerande av legitimitet.

The purpose of this study was to examine how young people who have chosen not to drink alcohol experience themselves and their surroundings. The aim was to find out what role temperance plays in their perceived identity. I also wanted to find out how they experienced the views of them, temperance and the temperance movement in their surroundings. Finally, I was interested in the question about alcohol, witch significance they believed it had for them and their surroundings. As theoretical ground, I used Howars S.

This paper was part of the ongoing cooperation between the Swedish Civil Aviation Authority and the Department of Psychology at Lund University. The purpose of this study was to develop a self-report measure regarding human factors, for the air traffic controllers to fill out before they start their working shift. This in order to aid the team leaders in their judgment regarding the air traffic controller's ability to perform at the right safety level. The self-report measure would also serve as an aid for the air traffic controllers who have a responsibility regarding their own performance. If successful this self-report measure would make it easier for the air traffic controllers to be alert regarding certain factors that can have a large impact on their performance.

Denna studie undersöker och beskriver den psykiska hälsan hos en grupp barn och ungdomar placerade i familjehem i en större stad i södra Sverige. 42 barn och ungdomar i åldrarna 11 till 20 år valdes ut från en kohort bestående av 52 som vid något tillfälle under 2005 befann sig placerade i familjehem. Till barnen administrerades Youth Self Report (YSR), till en av familjehemsföräldrarna Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL) och till barnens lärare Teacher´s Report Form (TRF). Data från barnens socialakter samlades också in. Totala problemskalorna för CBCL och TRF visade att andelen barn på klinisk nivå uppgick till 23 % medan motsvarande siffra för YSR var 9 %.

1922 startades en kvinnlig medborgarskola på Fogelstad i Södermanland. Initiativet togs av en grupp namnkunniga kvinnor som ansåg att kvinnorna med sin nyvunna rösträtt behövde tränas i medborgarskap. Samtidigt fanns även andra sammanhang och med syfte att främja kvinnors deltagande i politiken och samhällslivet. Vissa av dessa, nämligen tidningen Tidevarvet, Frisinnade kvinnor, Socialdemokratiska kvinnoförbundet samt sakfrågorna jordfrågan, fredsfrågan och befolkningsfrågan hade kopplingar till Fogelstad. Dessutom satt ett antal kvinnor med anknytning till Fogelstad i riksdagen.

Currently there is a controversial debate about that we must reduce our impact on the global warming; therefore both the Government and the local authorities have invested heavily in developing renewable energy in Sweden. The major development on the wind power market can be seen as a result of both the technological development and also on the decision that the Government took in 1996, which opened up the wind power market for private parties.This paper has aimed to examine the types of financial innovations that have arisen from the investments and financing of wind power on Gotland, and what these innovations can contribute to the future development of wind power.The problems that this thesis is based on is; what kind of financial innovations have occurred within investment and financing of wind power? How can these innovations contribute to the continued development of wind power on Gotland? The conclusion of this study shows that respondents and participants have defined a number of financial innovations that have emerged. Where some of the innovations only can be seen as incremental since they are based on continuous improvements, while others can be seen as radical as they are completely new for the context in which they operate. The study has also shown that Gotland has a great potential to produce more renewable electricity, but the development is dependent on the new power lines being built, in order to export electricity to the mainland..

The purpose of this essay is to analyse how the leadership and the structure of the organization affect the process of changes within a specific department in Lunds kommun socialdepartment, from the director of social work to the co-workers at Utredningsenheten för ungdom och familj. We aim to answer the following questions;How does the structure of organisation affect the process of change?What do the co-workers and the leaders believe is the best way to engage the co-workers in the change?How does the leaders view their own leadership in the process of change?How does the co-workers view the leadership in the process of change?How does the leadership affect the process of change?To develop an organisation and to make it a functional, change is a necessity. The leaders are they who create the change but the co-workers are they who make it happen. In the process of change, leadership and the leaders capacity to create motivation for the co-workers, is therefore a matter that is decisive to its success.This is a study based on a qualitative method, where the interview is the main source of empirical material.

This thesis investigate how energy efficient measures has spread throughout the data centers in Sweden. These questions are put up against a theoretical use of such concepts such as green IT, technological evolution, large technical systems and knowledge dissemination. These theories are used to answer the questions that are encountered during the study, such as how green IT is approached, how big of a role environmental thinking has had in the evolvement of these new technologies. The study has been conducted in a longitudinal manner, it is an observation of the phenomenon that is data centers over a longer period of time. 23 non structured interviews spanning over 27.5 hours of recorded material have been conducted alongside a study of archived material.
