Betting under ordered forms has been around for a long time, but the recent increase in Internet betting and the large sums of money that are now involved makes it even more important for betting companies to have correct odds. The purpose of the essay is to calculate probabilities for outcomes of football games using a statistical model and to see if you can find better odds than a betting company.The data contains the 380 games from the 2004/2005 season and the variables form, head-to-heads, league position, points, home/away, average attendance, promoted team, distance and final league position from previous season. After performing an ordered probit regression we only find the variable ?form of the away team? to be significant at the 5 % level. We suspect the presence of multicollinearity and perform a VIF-test which confirms this. To fix this problem we perform a second ordered probit regression where a number of variables are combined to index variables. In the second regression we once again find only one significant variable.

The purpose of this master thesis is to map and analyze the appropriate valuation approaches used for Intellectual Property rights and develope a model for valuing patents. This project has been executed on behalf of Electrolux?s Group Intellectual Property and is intended to be used for managerial purposes.Project limitations include patents that doesent concern technology oriented products and services, real option methods, financial forecasts, decisions concerning patents taken by the R&D division, patent applications in general and taking into account unexpected future management decisions regarding patents.Electrolux?s Intellextual Property team applies, manages and protects the groups Intellectual Property rights including patents, designs and trademarks. With an increased globalization and the rise of emerging markets, incentives have increased further to protect and safeguard the group?s innovations.Mainly there are three different valuations approaches for valuing intellectual property rights, these include the income based approach, cost base approach and market based approach.

  Aim. The aim of the study was to describe how nurses in home care experience to pursue palliative care in ordinary housing. Methods. The study had a descriptive design with qualitative approach and was carried out through semi-structured interviews with 14 nurses in home health care from two medium-sized Swedish municipalities. The material was analyzed with manifest and latent content analysis. Findings. The underlying theme that emerged in the study was: Working with palliative care in the patient´s own homes is positive but challenging. Informants describe among other things that they perceived palliative home care as meaningful and that relatives have a central role in the palliative home care since they are close to the patient around the clock. The stress that emerges from the heavy work load and the long geographic distances are described as strenuous and to affect the care in a negative way. Informants describe the home environment as challenging as it is often not adapted for care and the collaboration with the palliative team is described to be experienced as both positive and negative.

The aim of this study is to examine which factors in a traffic wardens? situation at work that promote and which that inhibit satisfaction at work. The aim of this study is also to examine if there are any differences in the work experiences for traffic wardens that work alone versus those who work in a team of two. The following questions are examined in the study:?Which factors promote and which factors inhibit the work situation for traffic wardens??Are there any differences between traffic wardens that work alone and those who work with another colleague?The selection consisted of eight traffic wardens, of which four of them work with another colleague while the other four work by themselves.

Previous research has shown that internal communication can be linked with how motivated a project team is, but research that shows examples of how this works is missing. This paper therefore aims to study how two different IT projects are working with internal communication. By analyzing its strengths and weaknesses, we wanted to study how these could be linked to the project team's motivation. In doing so, we wanted to be able to give examples of how projects could work with internal communication to motivate their project teams. Essay questions of the study are:? How does the internal communication occur in the projects?? Which strengths and weaknesses are to be found in the internal communication?? How does the internal communication influence the project members' motivation? To fulfill the purpose of the study it was needed informants interviews with the project manager for each project to access the facts, and respondent interviews with the project members from each project for accessing opinions.The results from the interviews show that both projects have effective communication, even if it looked different, and doesn't quite agree with what previous research recommends.

Background: Surgical complications has been the main cause of medical injuries and deaths worldwide. In 2008 WHO developed the checklist for safe surgery to reduce the number of surgical complications. The objective of the checklist is to strengthen already established safety routines and contribute to better cooperation and communication. Research shows that compliance to the checklist is deficient, which can affect patient safety.Aim: The aim was to study the extent to which theatre nurses participate in the use of the checklist.Method: Observational study was conducted with a descriptive design and quantitative approach. 24 observations were carried out with aid of an observation protocol of two surgical units at a hospital in central Sweden.Result: The results showed that Timeout initiated widely but compliance to all items was considerably lower.

Sockerbetsodlingen i Sverige står inför stora förändringar. Europeiska Unionen kommer i juli 2006 att införa en ny marknadsordning för socker som innebär sänkta betpriser på cirka 44 % i Sverige. Lönsamheten i odlingen kommer att minska drastiskt. För att bibehålla lönsamheten i odlingen krävs sänkta kostnader och ökade skördar. SBU startade 2003 ett projekt, Team 20/20 som syftar till att höja avkastningen i sockerbetsodlingen och sänka kostnaderna.

Syftet med vår uppsats är att studera hur olika arbetsroller förändras i en agil organisationoch vilka utmaningar HR-avdelningen ställs inför i den agila miljön. I organisationerdär chefsroller omskapas och medarbetarnas ansvar ökar behövs det skapas en kunskapom hur de tillskrivna rollerna förändras och vilka utmaningar som tillkommer med det. Igenomförandet av studien har vi valt att tillämpa en kvalitativ forskningsstrategi och enmultipel fallstudie för att få en så pass djup förståelse som möjligt.Den teoretiska referensramen innefattar teorier om ledarskap, följarskap och HRavdelningensroller för att sedan utmynna i teorier rörande agilt ledarskap, självstyrandeteam samt agilt HR vilka har hjälpt oss att svara på vår huvudsakliga problemformulering.Vidare redovisas vår empiriska datainsamling som samlats in genom intervjuer medinformanter som alla arbetar med agilt HR för att försöka skapa en så rättvis bild av ämnetsom möjligt. Den teoretiska referensramen och den empiriska datainsamlingen integreras ianalyskapitlet och vävs samman med våra egna reflektioner och tankar för att urskiljamönster och bakomliggande faktorer till de svar vi fått.Slutligen presenteras uppsatsens slutsats som syftar att svara på vårt huvudproblem ochvåra delproblem. Vi kan konstatera att rollerna i en agil miljö förändras och den makt somtidigare varit associerad med ledarskapet till viss del försvinner och överlåts påmedarbetarna.

I ett team ingår flera professioner och för att arbeta i ett team krävs det att kunna kommunicera med varandra. Genom att belysa vad som påverkar kommunikationen och hur kommunikationen påverkar människan, kan det leda till att människan utvecklar sin förmåga att kommunicera, vilket i sin tur leder till ett förbättrat arbetsklimat. Syftet med studien är att belysa kommunikationens betydelse för människan i det opererande teamet och eventuella orsaker som påverkar kommunikationen. Metoden är en litteraturöversikt med kvalitativ innehållsanalys av vetenskapliga artiklar. Resultatet redovisas med hjälp av tre huvudteman och 11 subteman där kommunikationens process belyses.

Globalisering är ett ord på allas läppar och i globaliseringens spår följer ett behov av globala ledare. En global ledare är en person som behärskar förmågan att hantera personal av olika nationaliteter, kulturer och team som befinner sig i olika världsdelar.Sony Ericsson, ett "joint venture" företag i mobiltelefonbranschen, tog kontakt med pedagogiska institutionen på Lunds Universitet för att få utomståendes syn på globalt ledarskap. Inom detta område har vi valt att fokusera på "knowledge sharing" av ledarskapsrelaterade frågor och hur detta kan leda till organisatoriskt lärande.Vår undersökning har utförts med hjälp av semistrukturerade intervjuer av ledare på olika nivåer som alla har konfronterats med utmaningen att leda team i en global organisation.Alla har svårt för att finna den gemensamma värderingen för vad som krävs av globala ledare inom Sony Ericsson. De saknar ett verktyg för "knowledge sharing" av ledarskapsrelaterade frågor. Även HR avdelningen vill ha gemensamma värderingar när det gäller vad som krävs av globala ledare.

Den agila utvecklingsmetoden scrum är en erkänd metodik inom systemutveckling som möjliggör noggrann utvärdering, testning och iteration inom utvecklingsprojekt. Scrum appliceras i projekt där scrumteamet normalt består av 3-9 personer. Vi presenterar i detta examensarbete resultat från en deltagande observation i ett småskaligt, tidsintensivt utvecklingsprojekt. Vi beskriver konsekvenserna av att med ett team bestående av två personer applicera scrum i ett utvecklingsprojekt med scrumartefakter såsom sprinter, dagliga scrummöten och produktbackloggar.  .

Att mötas med hjälp av distansteknik har för många organisationer blivit ett alternativ i och med att de vill hålla nere sina kostnader och arbeta effektivare. Det övergripande syftet med studien är att undersöka användarnas syn på audiovisuella beslutsmöten inom en myndighet mellan två eller fler aktörer över geografiskt skilda platser. Vi vill med detta syfte studera vilka fördelar och hinder som medarbetare ser med användningen av audiovisuella interna beslutsmöten. Detta finner vi intressant att undersöka då vi ser en trend av att företag och verksamheter globaliseras och blir geografiskt utspridda över världen. Vilket innebär att kostnaderna blir högre i form av tid, pengar och produktivitet.

In today?s competitive market, design is an important element for the companies. They must succeed with delivering an increased value and an experience for the consumer to be able to survive. The Swedish company?s have become better in the design area, the higher standards the consumer?s demands forces the company to invest more in design.

Bakgrund: Fundamenten i vården grundar sig i ett värdefullt bemötande där patientens grundläggande behov tillgodoses. Ett fungerande team i vårdarbetet är en viktig del i att skapa en personcentrerad och patientsäker hälso- och sjukvård. Dessa faktorer är viktiga delar i ett gott omhändertagande av patienter på en akutmottagning.Syfte: Syftet med denna studie var att utforska vilka omvårdnadsbehov som blir tillgodosedda hos kritisk sjuka eller skadade patienter samt funktionen av teamsamverkan på akutmottagningen på Akademiska sjukhuset i Uppsala.Metodbeskrivning: En kvalitativ fältstudie inspirerad av principerna för praktisk etnografi. Med hjälp utav ett observationsprotokoll utfördes 50 observationer som sedan analyserades med deskriptiv statistik samt en innehållsanalys.Resultat: Resultaten från denna studie visar att personalen var skickliga på att kommunicera och skapa en relation med patienterna. Däremot var de inte lika bra på att göra patienterna delaktiga i vården.

Upper secondary schools programme - a qualitative study about the collaboration of the Youth- and family team, the upper secondary schools and the police to prevent drugsAuthor: Åsa GöranssonSupervisor: Björn JohanssonThis essay discuss drug preventative work performed by the members of the ?Upper secondary schools programme?, which is a part of the Youth- and family team of the Social Services. They perform this work in collaboration with the police and upper secondary schools in Örebro.The purpose of this essay is to investigate and describe this collaboration. More specifically, the purpose is to study the contents of documents of the municipality of Örebro concerning drug prevention aimed at youths through collaboration and compare with the actual work that is carried out by the Youth- and family team through collaboration. Further issues dealt with are possible improvements and if the parties concerned feel a need for a documented structure concerning their way of working.I have used a qualitative method and I have interviewed members of parties concerned.
