Det här arbetet handlar om en släktmöbel och dess klädsel. Möbeln är en brudpall från 1900-talets början, som användes vid ett bröllop år 1910. Klädseln är ett nytillverkat yllebroderi, men med rötterna från samma tid. Syftet med hela arbetet har varit att söka efter brudpallens ursprung i fråga om stilhistoriskt uttryck, ändamål, uppbyggnad etc. för att sedan kunna söka och välja ett lämpligt broderimönster från samma tid att ha som förlaga till en ny broderad klädsel.

I slutet av 1800-talet ökade Luleås befolkning drastiskt som följd av stadens nya roll som utförselhamn för Lapplands järnmalm. Från 1890 till 1900 steg befolkningen från 4745 till 9522 människor. Luleå var däremot inte till fullo anpassat för en sådan stor befolkning, vilket bidrog till en rad svårigheter. Den ökande befolkningen medförde nya, samt förvärrade redan existerande, problem rörande bl.a. stadens sanitära och hälsomässiga situation.

Early Swedish films from the 1910?s and 1920?s are not only an important part of Sweden?s cultural heritage, but also an important part of the international film heritage. This period is often refereed to as the golden age of Swedish film history. Despite this fact, the possibility to watch Swedish films from this period is very small and the main purpose of this thesis is to examine why the availability of these films has such low priority in the Swedish film policy and at the Swedish Film Institute. With the use of policy analysis, I study governmental policies and policies from the Swedish Film Institute for early Swedish films and seek to identify the policy problem and its different parts.

The gambling industry goes from a national matter towards an international market. Since more and more members of EU does liberalise the gambling reforms and introduces a license system more participants will get an EU license for online gambling. With an EU license it is difficult for members of the EU to refuse a company to offer a gambling supply on the Internet if they don?t have an open license system. This paper tries to acknowledge the problem regarding the monopoly Sweden has today and calculate the effect if Sweden would move to a license system regarding online gambling by doing a cost benefit analysis.

In this essay I examine how a municipal- and an independent upper secondary school compare to the ideal types the Company and the Political organization and how that affects the school practise as it?s described in policy documents. The conclusions are that the municipal school on a number of variables correlate to the ideal type the Political organization. At the same time the school reforms of the 1990s are considered as an intention to ?companylize? the municipal school and a number of tendencies how that have affected the municipal school are shown.

This paper examines how debt cancellation, given under the HIPC-initiative, has affected corruption over the period 2000-2006. The examination is foremost interesting due to earlier research showing that high corruption leads to unequal distribution of economic resources. This, combined with the objective of the HIPC initiative to reduce poverty, indicates that combating corruption must be successful in order to fulfill the goals of the initiative. A linear regression shows that countries that have benefited from the HIPC-initiative indeed have a lower corruption than other countries. A panel-data analysis shows on the other hand that no effect on corruption due to debt cancellation or reforms undertaken in the program can be confirmed..

This essay is dealing with the difficulties of cataloging and classifying anonymi and other kinds of literature without the components which have set the norm for bibliographic cataloging, i.e. a defined author, a standardized title etc. A typical example of this kind of literature is folklore and folktales, which are dealt with thoroughly here. The character of and the society's historical view upon the folk literature, as literature considered, are being described, as is the evolution of rules for cataloging in general. The folk literature is mostly systematized after a different pattern from other literature, since bibliographical facts are often missing.

Under 1800-talet var Båstad redan etablerad som badort. Orten marknadsfördes som kurort som bl.a. erbjöd havsbad som medicinsk behandlingsmetod. Badgästernas ökande krav på förströelse och nöjen kom att medföra en utveckling, där dessa attraktioner fick allt större betydelse för badorten. I denna studie undersöks vilka faktorer som påverkade turistutvecklingen i Båstad under tiden före andra världskriget.

Stenhammars uppteckning av Moratraditionens Den signade dag, meddelad av en ung Zornmodell, visar melodisk överensstämmelse med en tidigare (1887) och en senare uppteckning (1922) av Moratraditionen, men har en rytmiskt individuell utformning.

The purpose of this essay was to compare the Swedish and the Japanese pension system and see if there were any big differences or similarities. I was looking for answers to such questions as if the systems were modelled with the problematic demographic situation in mind and also how these two countries had tried to manage the problems. Path dependency was also a central conception when I studied the reforms of the two pension systems. I mainly used literature and Internet sources in my study. There were many books on the Swedish pension system and the debates that had been going on since the 80's.

Snickarmästare Hjalmar Jackson var med sin verkstad en av Stockholms skickligaste möbeltillverkare under perioden 1916-1956. Exempel på uppdrag var tillverkning av möbler till Stockholms Stadshus, vardagsrummet på Ulriksdals slott och Svenska Tändsticksbolaget AB. Jackson var även en aktiv föreningsmänniska som engagerade sig starkt för hantverkarnas situation i samhället liksom för bibehållandet av hög hantverksstandard och utbildning till kommande generationer. Under hela sitt aktiva yrkesliv hade Hjalmar Jackson ett nära samarbete med olika möbelarkitekter, speciellt Carl Malmsten.Efter ett inledande kapitel om möbel- och inredningsstilar åren 1910-1960 redogör denna uppsats för Hjalmar Jackson som person och yrkesman, hans olika verkstäder och uppdrag samt också för ett antal möbelalster tillverkade av Jackson och hans verkstad. Uppsatsen innehåller även en beskrivning av arbetet hos Jackson grundad på intervju med snickarmästare Inge Johnsson som arbetade hos Jackson på 1950-talet.Det föreligger inget tvivel om att Jackson var en mycket kompetent mästare, hantverkare och arbetsledare och att han och hans medarbetare gjorde en bestående insats för möbel- och hantverkskulturen i Sverige..

Sharia or western equality?womenin Egyptian legislationThe Islamic law (Sharia) in most of the countries in Middle East and North Africa has been the basis for modern laws which regulate issues such as marriage, divorce and inheritance. These laws (personal status law or family law) have been debated frequently in the last decades.There are those who consider personal status law (PSL) as unjust, male-biased and discriminating against women especially in the issue of divorce. On the other hand there are voices who call to go back to the Sharia, because muslims has to follow the islamic law and its values, they are universal as they claim. In this essay I try to enlighten these two points of view which can be found in the debate in Egypt.

The intention with the research was to investigate the role of civil society in the Kenyan democratization process. The research intends thus to analyze (1) the role of civil society in Kenya's transition to democracy (1990- 2002), and (2) the role of civil society in the further democratization process (2002- 2013).The results of the research demonstrates that the role of civil society played a crucial role in Kenya?s transition to democracy given that civil society provided with a multiparty- system in 1991. In addition, civil society endowed with education for citizens in order to attain constitutional reforms. As a result, Kenya accomplished a transition to democracy in 2002.

In recent years, more of high stakes (National exam- NP) have been introduced in Sweden and now (2015) the government has decided that the NP in social sciences- and natural science in 6th grade is optional in order to reduce teachers' administrative burden. Based on these reforms, to have more tests in more grades and also on the decision to remove the test, the purpose of this study is to examine how teachers perceive the work of the (NP).A quantitative research was done in the form of questionnaires. The study was based on questionnaires regarding the time for working with the NP and of the intention that the NP should be a support for teachers.The result of the study is linked to school development and the constructivist theory of learning. The results show that teachers perceive work with NP takes a lot of time, where as the time for administration seems to take slightly lesser time than the time for assessing the exams. The results also indicate that teachers perceive NP as supportive, mainly in relation to the curriculum.

The goal of this paper is to analyze the influence of the EU on Turkish democracy. In order to achieve this aim, the paper concentrates on three areas, as representative institutions, opposition parties and freedom of expression. The impact of the EU on Turkey has been more explicit during the last decades. In particular since 1999 when the country became a candidate for membership, and that will eventually lead to Turkey joining the European Union. Thereby this paper will examine the demands EU set up for the country and how Turkey accomplishes these criteria.
