This paper conducts a qualitative examination based on interviews with six childrens librarians. The purpose is to put a perspective on the librarians competence and focal knowledge within the area of reading promotion and reading stimulation aimed for children, and also to examine how this competence and knowledge is constructed. The work is based on the following questions: How do childrens librarians experience reading promotion and reading stimulation within their profession? Which competence and what knowledge do childrens librarians experience as most important in order to make their work with reading promotion and reading stimulation function? What can be concluded regarding the construction of their competence and knowledge? The analysis is carried out from theories about competence, Tacit Knowledge and reading promotion. Following primary conclusions are drawn from the study: The professional role is mainly experienced as promoting reading as pleasure, but also as an important factor for childrens language development.

Tyst yrkeskunnande på Negotium : - En kvalitativ fallstudie av ett konsultföretag

Denna studie syftar till att inom fältet knowledge management, samt ur ett situerat lärandeperspektiv, skapa en ökad förståelse för hur medarbetares tysta yrkeskunnande synliggörs, delas, integreras och reproduceras i organisationen. För att möjliggöra undersökandet av detta syfte har tre frågeställningar definierats;I vilka situationer synliggörs tyst yrkeskunnande?Hur delas tyst yrkeskunnande?Vilken roll spelar organisationskulturen för delande av tyst yrkeskunnande?Det empiriska materialet har samlats in genom nio semistrukturerade intervjuer på det undersökta fallföretaget. Resultatet från intervjuerna har analyserats med utgångspunkt i Säljös (2005) situerade lärandeperspektiv, Alvesson & Kärremans (2001) modell Four Knowledge Management Approaches samt Nonaka & Takeuchis (1995) SECI-modell. Studiens resultat visar att det förekommer tyst yrkeskunnande i verksamheten och att detta kunnande i stor utsträckning handlar om organisationskännedom, relationsmässiga kunnanden samt identifiering med förebilder.

Skolkuratorers kunskap och erfarenhet om tics och Tourette syndrom : En kvalitativ intervjustudie

The aim of this study was to examine the knowledge and the experience that school counsellors have about tics and Tourette syndrome. This study is based on a qualitative research which we conducted with semi-structured interviews. We have done five interviews with different school counsellors in a small municipality in southern Sweden. The theoretical approach that was used in this study was theory of knowledge as a comprehensive theory and professional competence which includes formal knowledge and Tacit Knowledge. Some of the study?s conclusions are that the School Counsellors had different professional competence about tics and Tourette syndrome.

The aim of this two year master thesis is to study the knowledge production within the field of Textile Studies at Uppsala University, with special focus on the use of artifact documentation as a research method. With domain analysis as a theoretical framework, ontological and epistemological assumptions as well as historical and social aspects are studied in relation to the research process. Qualitative research methods are used, including interviews, observations and text analysis. In the analysis of the knowledge processes in the field, perspectives on Tacit Knowledge and the concept of documents, are used as a theoretical basis. In the field of Textile Studies, the artifacts are used as one of the main objects of study, along with archival and pictorial sources. The main epistemological assumptions are that artifact analysis is dependent on a knowledge base, where technical handicraft skills, contextual knowledge and practical experience of object observation are the most important qualifications.

The aim of the study was to examine the knowledge that school counsellors in Swedish schools have about young women with anxiety disorders. The study also examines how the counsellors act when there is a suspicion or a case of anxiety in a female student. With a qualitative approach eight school counsellors were interviewed. The theoretical approach that was used is the sociology of knowledge. Some of the study?s conclusions are that anxiety disorders are frequent among young girls.

The purpose of this Masters thesis is to accomplish an understanding for childrens librarians purchases of juvenile books. Two main questions are to be answered: - Which considerations do childrens librarians do when buying juvenile books and which goals and motives are behind their purchases? - What do childrens librarians think that their knowledge and competence consists of and how is that knowledge useful when buying juvenile books? To answer the questions qualitative interviews with five childrens librarians have been carried out. The material has been analyzed through a theoretical construction consisting of theories about collection development, book selection and quality judgments. The conception Tacit Knowledge silent knowledge from Michael Polanyi has also been used for interpretation.

I am aiming to highlight the inadequacy of putting too much trust in formalization and that reporting and trending of events will contribute to increased learning, an increased nuclear safety and an efficient operational experience.
