Aim With this study we want to highlight and analyze the media spin of the PR campaign Miss Skinny by clarifying; a diffusion pattern which covers posts published by bloggers and journalists; a framing pattern from the first audited post to the last; how journalists are influenced by user generated content, and what consequences this may have for the news coverage.Method We have conducted a studied of news posts and blog posts about the Swedish PR campaign Miss Skinny through content analysis, diffusion analysis and mapped direct links between blog posts and news posts.Main result We found that a surprisingly large amount of news postings contained direct links to previous blog posts and that the former media serial no longer can be applied on today's modern media where journalists and other players come together on the converged media arena. .

This theises aims to extend the understanding of how representation of gender is produced and reproduced in the young women?s magazine Frida. We examine this through analyzing pictures of male and female celebrities in a selected number of magazines from the year of 2013. We use a quantitative analysis of the pictures, as well as a supplementary quantitative analysis of ajectives used to describe male and female celebrities in captions. We research what types of patterns we can find in these analyses that construct representations of gender, also surveying how the celebrities in the magazine look.Our analysis shows us that the context of Frida contains several recurring visual patterns that preserves a representation of men being superior to women.

I den här C-uppsatsen undersöks hur fotbollsspelarna Zlatan Ibrahimovic och Cristiano Ronaldo framställs i olika länders medier, i synnerhet tidningar och webbsajter. Till vår hjälp har vi använt oss av teorier om nationella stereotyper, National Sporting Heroes, idrottsstjärnor inom sportjournalistiken samt teorin om nyhetsvärdering och medielogik. Vi har gjort kvalitativa textanalyser av tidnings- och internetartiklar från sju olika länder och gjort en djupintervju med Johanna Frändén, journalist på Sportbladet och Sveriges Television. Resultatet visar att det kan finnas tydliga skillnader på hur en person eller händelse gestaltas i olika länder. Avgörande faktorer kan vara att en tidning tydligt stöttar ett landslag eller en klubb eller använder sig av nationella stereotyper kring motståndare och sig själva..

This essay aims to analyse the form of two radio documentary shows and compare them to, what I mean are a traditional, Swedish radio documentary form. The radio shows are Radiolab distributedby National Public Radio and WNYC, Övernaturligt (supernatural) produced by TredjeStatsmakten Media AB and P3 Dokumentär (P3 Documentary) distributed by Sveriges Radio. Each December thousands of Swedish families sit down to watch the annual "Christmas calendar", a series containing 24 episodes. Since the start in 1960, the Swedish public service television company, Sveriges Television, have broadcast a Christmas calendar every year, and is now seen as a firm tradition, attracting audiences of all ages, though the main audience is children. Research has shown that children?s television programs to a certain extent have the same function as news journalism has in agenda setting. Media, together with feedback and interaction with other individuals, plays a big role in the process of socialization.

The aim of this research was to describe how daily papers comply with the ethical guidelines of journalism when reporting on the arrest of a criminal suspect. In order to do this we studied how the arrest of a suspected violent serial rapist was covered by four newspapers, Västerbottens Folkblad, Västerbottenskuriren, Dagens Nyheter and Svenska Dagbladet. The theoretical areas of the study were the ethical guidelines, and other ethical perspectives in the media, news value and general interest regarding news. The research strategy was a case study, and a text analysis was used in order to collect empirical data. Several readings of the newspapers resulted in four themes to analyse: Identifying, to judge someone unheard, show consideration for victims and criminal, the use of sources.

Our purpose with the study was to investigate how the image of a mother?s role is created by the magazines Mama and Husmodern. Mama is an existing magazine, but Husmodern ceased to exist in 1988. Both magazines focus on children, fashion and housework. We wanted to know what qualities you need to become a good or a bad mother.
