"Din jävla hora, du ska dö!" : En studie i hur näthatet påverkar kvinnliga journalister
With the expansion of the internet, the conditions for the online journalists have changed. Feedback is faster and more blatant than offline. The online abilities of anonymity and dispersion attracts people to both use and misuse. During 2013, the online expressions of hate towards women has been brought to attention in the media more than ever before. Nevertheless, the phenomenon is far from new.Our qualitative research including interviews intends to find out how the afflicted women journalists are affected in their exercise of their profession.

The aim of our study was to examine how Swedish journalists use the three social networks Facebook, Twitter and blogs to find news. We wanted to study which group of journalists that were using these networks most frequently and why. We also wanted to find out which of the three networks they use the most.We made a questionnaire which we sent out by e-mail to 400 Swedish journalists. 215 of them participated in our study.We analyzed the results of the responses from the questionnaire and discussed patterns and relations between them.The study establishes that the majority of the respondents believe that the networks are very useful and effective in their work.Our results show that out of the three social networks the journalists who participated in our study prefer to use blogs as sources in their line of work, as they are full of information from individuals and contain unique facts and stories.Alongside the results we discussed how social networks might be used in the future of journalism. Most of the respondents are aware of the possibility that they may need to increase the usage of them eventually, and that they will be an important part of the journalistic work process in the future. .
Den gråtande journalisten : En studie av publikens syn på subjektiv nyhetsrapportering
The aim of this study is to examine how the public responds to the journalists? use of subjectivity in the reporting of broadcasting news. The investigation is a qualitative study based on nine interviews with respondents in ages of 21 to 25 from different parts of Sweden. After showing five examples of news reporting with a subjective approach, the respondents gave their look on the use of subjectivity. The goal with our research has been to describe how often and in what way female athletes are represented in the sport section in Sweden?s biggest evening newspaper Aftonbladet. The material we?ve used are the newspapers that we collected during two weeks in 2008, the 3rd of November to the 9th of November and the 11th of November to the 17th of November. We?ve conduced two qualitative researches ? a text analysis and an image analysis ? and one quantitative analysis on our material.
Kjoltyg och magiska skönhetsunder: en jämförande diskursanalys av hur journalisterna på Slitz och Veckorevyn representerar kvinnan
The purpose of this study is to compare how the male journalists of the Slitz magazine and the female journalists of Veckorevyn represent the female sex. Slitz is dominated by sensual, sexy pictures of women. The texts describe the women on the basis of the journalists opinions. The women themselves do not get the same opportunities as the journalists to tell the readers who they are. Slitz magazine objectify women, they seem to be aware of it and do not hide their purpose.
Reportagejournalistik i olika medier : En lingvistisk textanalys ur ett kritiskt diskursanalytiskt perspektiv
Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att undersöka hur reportagejournalistik skiljer sig i olika publiceringskanaler. Huvudpunkt för undersökningen ligger i att studera lingvistiska skillnader och undersöka hur journalistiska texter dras mot olika fält beroende på publiceringskanal.Undersökningen består av en lingvistisk textanalys ur ett kritiskt diskursanalytiskt perspektiv. Denna analys har jag gjort med hjälp av två journalistiska verk där det ena är publicerat på Aftonbladets webb och det andra i pappersmagasinet Offside. De slutsatser som dras utifrån undersökningen bör ses som ett första närmande av att undersöka de skillnader som finns mellan reportage publicerade i olika merdier. Enligt slutsatserna i denna uppsats kan man se klara lingvistiska skillnader mellan texter publicerade på webben kontra pappersmedia.

2010 was the year of the wedding between Sweden?s crown princess Victoria and Daniel Westling. Although the wedding was partly financed with tax payer?s money, the newspapers did not investigate it further. The main theme of the published articles was lighter and with an entertainment value rather than finding out what the tax money really went.

The aim of our study was to examine Swedish crime reporters? approach to the social medium Flashback. Our main focus was the crime reporters? use of the medium Flashback, and attitude towards their own use of media ethics in relation to the medium Flashback.Flashback as a medium is not obliged to any media ethics and lacks a legally accountable publisher. In the search for information about committed crimes people tends to visit Flashback for the information that the traditional media cannot offer.
När journalister lanserar en produkt. : Hur PR-kampanjer påverkar nyhetstexter
Den här uppsatsen jämför PR-genomslaget av två lanseringskampanjer i tolv dagstidningar. Lanseringskampanjerna gäller de två mobiltelefonerna, Xperia x10 och Iphone 4. PR-genomslaget undersöks dels genom exponering av varumärken, dels genom antal publicerade artiklar. Av antalet publicerade artiklar undersöks också hur stor del av artiklarna som kan ses som textreklam. De tolv tidningarna är indelade i olika tidningstyper: morgontidningar, kvällstidningar och gratistidningar.

The purpose of this essay is to analyze the media coverage of the case with Martin Schibbye and Johan Persson in the four biggest newspapers in Sweden in order to see how social constructions is created through the use of language. It is also of interest to see how nationality is represented in the material. The theory is based on Edward Said?s theory of post colonialism and the prejudices that has developed from the western way of viewing ?The orient?. It is also based on Richard Dyers theory on whiteness and binary oppositions, which shows how ?whiteness? is viewed as the norm and is also never questioned.The method is critical linguistics and based on Norman Fairclough and Michael Halliday.
Public service-uppdraget i italiensk television : En innehållsanalys av nyhetsprogrammet Tg1
The main question this bachelor thesis aims to answer is how the public service program Tg1?s news broadcasts may look. The following questions were used to discuss thetendencies of the result: How can the distribution of the news categories appear in Tg1?sbroadcasts? Can the main news be considered as impartial and objective in its linguisticand pictorial representation?To answer the aforementioned question I chose to do a combined study, using aquantitative content analysis and a qualitative content analysis.To lead my research, I focused on two requirements underlined by public servicebroadcasters, namely, objectivity and impartiality, and diversity. The outcome shows thatthe diversity in Tg1?s broadcast is disproportionate and that the pictorial representation isnot impartial and objective without the linguistic part.
Flerkanalspublicering och dess påverkan på journalisters arbetssituation : en studie av flerkanalspublicering i olika stadier
Purpose/Aim: The aim of this thesis was to examine how multi channel publishing in different stages effect the work for journalists.Material/Method: The thesis is based on ten case studies selected from the literature and one conducted especially for this thesis. The case studies have been categorized according to a model that describes three strategies for multi channel publishing. The first strategy is to have a primary publishing channel, the second is to have separate editorial staffs for all publishing channels and the third is to treat all publishing channels equally.Main results: Journalists working for companies using the first strategy have not experienced any major differences in working conditions or work practices. For journalists employed by companies using the second strategy for multi channel publishing the effects on the journalists was noticeable but not major. The effects on journalists in companies using the third strategy are mainly stress and an uncertainty regarding how to use special media techniques..

Hovjournalistik på nyhetsplats : Hur kungahuset bevakas i Svenska dagbladet, Dagens nyheter, Aftonbladet och Expressen
Denna uppsats beskriver hur Expressen, Aftonbladet, Dagens Nyheter och Svenska Dagbladet bevakar det svenska kungahuset under tre strategiskt valda perioder. Syftet är att ge en ökad förståelse för hur rapporteringen om kungahuset ser ut på nyhetsplats vid skandal likt lanseringen av bokenDen motvillige monarken av Thomas Sjöberg med flera, samt vid en glädjande nyhet likt födseln av prinsessan Estelle. För att ge en bild av hur den mer alldagliga bevakningen ser ut undersöks även en slumpmässigt vald vecka.För att besvara syftet utgår undersökningen från tre frågeställningar rörande undersökta artiklars källor, tidningarnas nyhetsvärdering och hovets mediestrategier. I undersökningen har en kvantitativ och en kvalitativ metod använts. Som teoretisk utgångspunkt har teorin om agenda setting samt medieforskaren Kristina Widestedts forskning om hovjournalistik legat till grund.Studiens resultat visar på en obalans i bevakningen av kungahuset.
I sökandet efter objektivitetsidealet : En studie om rapporteringen kring FRA-lagen i Dagens Nyheter och Svenska Dagbladet ur ett objektivitetsperspektiv
The aim of this thesis was to examine what expressions for objectivity there were to identify/find in newspaper journalism?s report about the FRA-law during the period 2008-06- 13 to 2009-10-14.We choose to analyze ten articles from the morning paper Dagens Nyheter and Svenska Dagbladet, five from each one. The method we used was a qualitative text analysis. We then designed an own model for the objectivity ideal from without the old theories that were available and also came with own ideas. Then we used that model as starting-point and designed key points to identify objectivity in the articles.Our thesis showed that the articles often fail when it comes to two key points.
