Equal opportunity issues are considered to have a clear position in Swedish policy and the making of Swedish gender policy is considered a precursor. Though many experts and scientists have shed light on the fact that the issue of women assault has had a less stable development than other gender issues such as child care, the labour market etc. within the Swedish society, and that it does not attract the wide political support it needs. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the Municipalities', in the county of Kronoberg, policy on the issue of women assault within their local policies of equality. In my thesis I have chosen a theoretical framework that is built on a dilemma of justice based on three different dimensions; the extent, content and influence of the local policies.

This paper examines family owned tourism businesses with a special focus on succession. In Nordic countries tourism has been widely promoted and used in rural development as a replacement economy for ?traditional? livelihoods based on rural production. Because the tourism and hospitality industry, especially in rural areas, is dominated by family enterprises, the topic of succession is of great relevance for tourism and tourism destinations. This paper looks at family businesses? special characteristics, challenges and advantages in terms of ownership structure, lifestyle, motivations, employees and destination impact.

In Sweden and in the rest of the world we face the problem how to create a sustainable development. At the same time the Swedish million program, a housing program made in the 1960:s and 1970:s, is facing a renewal due to lack of maintenance during many years. An attempt to join these two interests has been made in the residential area of Gårdsten north of Gothenburg. This paper is a case study to review the project and its approach to the sustainability concept. The purpose is to spread knowledge about the problems that can arise. By studying documentation about the reconstruction I have analyzed the approach that has been used. The housing company?s starting point was user participation and an intention to make the changes visible.

De flesta politiska riktlinjer har idag en hållbar samhällsutveckling som övergripande och gemensam nationell ambition. Det innebär att uppsatta mål för ekologisk, ekonomisk och social hållbarhet ska nås i samverkan mellan aktörer från olika sektorer och på olika beslutsnivåer. Att förstå vad det innebär på lokal och regional nivå, och hur man kan nå de målen, är inte så enkelt. Syftet med denna studie är att skapa ett underlag som kan användas i arbetet med hållbar landsbygdsutveckling, inom den informella regionen Bergslagen i Sverige. Hinder och möjligheter för hållbar landsbygdsutveckling har analyserats genom att arrangera fokusgruppdiskussioner med olika intressegrupper i samhället.

The purpose of the study was to investigate the use and losses of energy in an existing older building. Another purpose was also to look through various options for heating systems with renewable energy in the building. The aim was to reduce the use and losses of energy. The first step was to study the related electricity bills of the building and also perform measurements and calculations of the building envelope and ventilation. The next step was to find out the possible actions for energy saving by performing measurements and calculations.

Hållbar utveckling har, allt sedan Brundtlandrapporten 1987 och Rio 1992, utgjort den fundamentala idén för långsiktiga miljö- och utvecklingspolitiska strävanden och kommit att dominera miljöpolitiken/policyn i många länder. Med utgångspunkt i Hajers teori om diskursiva strategier för ekologisk modernisering, studeras i denna uppsats (1) hur hållbar utveckling påverkat svensk miljöpolitisk diskurs samt (2) hur den diskursiva dynamiken kring skiftet i svensk miljöpolitik - från kretsloppstänkande och Agenda 21 till ekologisk modernisering - efter socialdemokratins nya vision om 'det gröna folkhemmet', bör förstås.I en fallstudie i Malmö studeras närmare hur förändringen av den miljöpolitiska diskursen återspeglas i en lokal kontext samt huruvida det är nationell styrning, lokal logik eller ömsesidiga samspel inom ramen för de diskursiva förändringarna som gör att den lokala praktiken 'blir vad den blir'..

This thesis deals with the theories of ecological and environmental justice and applies them onto Swedish politics. Confronting the divide in the literature between anthropocentric and ecocentric perspectives, its aim is to seek points of agreement within this important field of environmental politics. In the theoretical discussion, definitions are made of the concepts sustainability, justice and responsibility. These definitions try to link ecological and environmental justice arguments with a focus on the global level.The object of analysis is the former Swedish governments? bill ?Common responsibility: Swedish politics for global development? which was accepted in 2003.

I vårt arbete har vi undersökt hur perspektivet hållbar utveckling framträder i tre historieläroböcker för gymnasiet: Alla tiders historia Maxi, Perspektiv på historien A och Epos historia ? För gymnasieskolans kurs A och B. Dessutom har vi, utifrån historiedidaktisk teori kring begreppet historiemedvetande, klarlagt i vilken utsträckning de undersökta läroböckerna kan utveckla elevers handlingsberedskap. Vår metod har varit hermeneutisk och i läromedelsanalysen har vi utgått från vår förkunskap om historien, en definition av hållbar utveckling samt teorier om historiemedvetande. Nedslagen som analyserats i böckerna har varit följande: upptäckterna, mellankrigstiden och svensk nutidshistoria. Resultatet visar att perspektivet hållbar utveckling gör sig gällande, dock i olika utsträckning beroende på nedslag och lärobok.

Följande undersökning är genomförd genom en kvantitativ metod med enkäter som forskningsverktyg. Studien är gjord bland tio skolor och 188 deltagare (n= 188) i en mellanstor kommun i södra Sverige. Arbetet undersöker svenska elevers uppfattningar och attityder till hållbar utveckling. Dessa attityder och uppfattningar jämförs och diskuteras sedan utifrån ett genusperspektiv. Resultaten påvisar statistiskt signifikanta skillnader i förhållningssätt till hållbar utveckling mellan flickor och pojkar.

The first commercially produced wind turbines in Sweden are starting to reach theend of their lifetime after approximately 25 years of producing energy. The cost fordismantling the turbines, according to Ardefors et al. (2009), is calculated to be 1-2 %of the total investment of the wind turbines. The purpose of this master thesis is tomap the dismantling process of wind turbines in Sweden and try to find a sustainablesolution for the future.To make sure that a correct dismantling process takes place, and that the financialaspect is covered, a proposal for a financial guarantee is worked upon. A nationalunanimity will be created through a financial guarantee and the risk will be minimalof a third party getting afflicted.Studies of literature and interviews have been carried out.

Denna uppsats syftar till att presentera erfarenheter av grönsaksodling på tak samt utreda klimatförhållanden och odlingsförutsättningar på Augustenborgs Botaniska Takträdgård i Malmö. Uppsatsen avslutas med förslag på förbättringar och åtgärder för grönsaksodlingen på taket i Augustenborg. Arbetetet omfattar således en generell och en platsspecifik del. Uppsatsen har tillkommit genom litteraturstudier, intervjuer och studier på plats i Augustenborgs takträdgård. Takodling av grönsaker anknyter till såväl gröna tak som stadsodling och dess popularitet ökar i världen. I Sverige förekommer gröna Sedum-tak alltmer och stadsodling har förankrats i våra storstäder. Tak är outnyttjade platser med god potential för odling.

Earth science is a dynamic system science that explores the structures and processes of the earth. Knowledge about the earth is important for citizens since the science is a vital part in the sustainable development of the society. Without good basic knowledge the citizens don?t have the possibility to anticipate in the questions and decision-making that concerns e.g. anthropogenic climate change. In the Swedish school system earth science is not an independent subject until academically studies at the University?s.

Education systems face a number of challenges regarding social justice, diversity, difference, and inclusion and membership for all students in the groups that schools create. This invokes questions of how well these challenges are met in curricula and teaching materials. Through discourse analysis of eight Swedish geographical textbooks, this essay aims to seek out the perspectives surrounding difference within the subject of geography. It concludes that the idea of fixed homogenous cultures as meaningfull in differentiating among people dominates throughout the latter half of the 20th century and during the last decade. In addition, it concludes that the discourse surrounding diversity in Swedish geographical teaching materials mainly has a binary liberal view of plurality focused around tolerance.

The Swedish traffic system is congested, especially in the urban areas; travellers face daily growing traffic jams and delays in public transport. In a congested traffic system, travellers need support to make smart and sustainable decisions and one such tool is traffic information.One issue today is that too few travellers use traffic information in support of their travel. Research shows that travellers would see great value in receiving the information; however current systems do not meet their requirements. This is a problem since the society would benefit greatly from a well functioning traffic information system.In this report, a number of channels that can be applicable for providing traffic information will be explored, with particular emphasis on interference information.The information channels are analyzed based upon the needs and requirements of the society and the traveller. The thesis of the report is: the more of these needs and requirements are met in a channel; the better is the channel to use for traffic information.
