The purpose of this thesis is to investigate how students who study with Problem-based learning PBL in a distance learning course perceive the Support from the university library. I first went into adult education, PBL and distance studies, one at a time, and then took a look at the combination of problem-based learning in distance studies. During the investigation, I conducted five interviews using a phenomenographic method to understand how the students perceived the Support they received from the university library. The university library gives a lot of Support but what I noticed while I was writing was that it is difficult to reach the students with the information regarding the help that is available to them. I give some example on how to develop the Support and find that the students have a wide range of different needs for Support from the library depending on their individual situation, social context, academic ability, location and course of study.

Social Support is an important part of handling the troubles of life. The purpose of this literature review is to investigate what forms the social Support for adult women with breast cancer with the aim to be used in the nursing care. By system-atical reading of scientific articles nine qualitative articles were found which the result is based on. The theoretical framework was Antonovsky´s health focused theory with the central issue KASAM, the feeling of life connection. The study resulted in three themes emotional Support, practical Support and informational Support, which describe the balanced content of social Support.

The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to describe through a quantitative study the extent of Support received by foster families, their opinion of the Support and any areas that might need improvement. The foster families receive foster care Support through a private agency. We concentrated on the following areas of Support; education, health, contact with the children?s biological relatives and behavioral difficulties. These four areas have, in previous research, shown to be problematic for foster children.

The purpose of this paper is to contribute to better understanding of the importance of social Support for physically active individuals' experiences of training residence following an injury.The physical activity's impact on public health is well known. Increased physical activity also increases the risk of suffering an injury related to physical activity. The importance of social Support for those individuals who suffer an injury related to physical activity is where increased knowledge is needed.Four interviews to were conducted using a thematic interview guide with the following themes: The experience of the training break, two sides of social Support, several ways of dealing with the experience, the design of the Support, Varied Support providers relationship changes. The most important property of the individual who gave Support was an experience similar to that of the injured individuals underwent. That, combined with the close relationship with the individual who gave Support was seen as crucial to the experience of the social Support role for the injured individual.The Conclusion was that social Support is important for the experience of a break from exercise due to an injury related to physical activity..

The purpose of this study was to examine how the foster parent's need of Support is provided. The study was built upon a qualitative method with interviews with ten foster parents. More specifically, its aim was too find out how the foster parents themselves looked upon how their need of Support, and from whom the Support was provided. According to the law, it is the social services obligation to provide the foster parents with all the Support they could need. The picture the media sends out is different from what it should be because according to them, the social services fall short in the follow-up and also the Support of the contact with the foster parents.

The aim of this study was to examine the relations between sense of coherence (SOC), perceived social Support and mood, the study also included gender and civil status in the analysis. In the analysis mood was the dependent variable. The study included 81 respondents, all students from Växjö university, who answered a survey with three parts: SOC 13, Mood Adjective Checklist (MACL), and an own constructed instrument that measured perceived social Support. The result showed that those with a high SOC tended to have a greater mood. High scores on perceived social Support also were related to a greater mood.

Every year 120 children with Downs Syndrome is born in Sweden. The aim of the study was to investigate if there were any differences between mothers and fathers of children with Downs Syndrome regarding: experience of Support from health care personnel and physicians in the time of delivery and from who parents sought most emotional Support.Participants of the study was 80 mothers and 79 fathers that answered a questionnaire. There was a difference between parents if they thought they received Support from health care personnel, mothers (59 %) and fathers (38 %) thought that they didn?t receive Support. Emotional Support sought mothers (52 %), in grater wideness then the fathers (23 %), with other families with handicapped children.

The aim of this study was to review six professionals Supporters work to Support adolescents in grief, and if this Support is the kind of Support adolescents actually need. These professional Supporters are two hospital social workers, two hospice social workers and two Support group leaders. The questions included in the work are; How does the professional Support look like for adolescents aged 12-18, who has lost a parent in cancer? Are the adolescents getting the Support they need from these professionals? The study is based on qualitative interviews based on interview guides, which where then analyzed thematically and linked to previous research and grief theory. The result indicate that adolescents may need different forms of Support when their parent is dying or has died.

Research about social Support and social networks has mostly concerned the impact on a person?s wellbeing and health. However an aspect largely neglected is how social Support within the social networks can affect the process of giving up a drug abuse. The purpose of this paper is to contribute to a better understanding of what role the social Support within different relationships can have on the process of giving up drug abuse. Furthermore the aim is to examine how a self-help group can provide social Support in the transitional period after leaving a drug abuse.

"Outstanding" or "They ought to know more about computers" : A study on computer Support at university libraries.The main purpose of this study is to investigate the Support computer users are given at university libraries. Further, the aim is to find out if the users thought they received the Support that they needed. The study is carried out at two different university libraries. The data is obtained through interviews with the librarians, observations of the daily work at the information counters and questionnaires handled out to the users.The study indicates that variables such as knowledge, time and equipment play a central role in making the computer Support successive. To a great extent the computer Support is synonymous with information search, but it also deals with word processing and technical Support connected with computer errors.

The aim of this essay is to study how parents to children with learning disability experences the Support they get from society. My main question has been: what kind of Support offer does society offer this parents? What is good and what is less satisfactory in this Support? The study is based on a qualitative method. Five parents with children who has learning disabilities has been used as base. The material has been analysed with a narrative, hernmeneutic perspective.The study concludes that the parents, use in this case, find that society does not offer the necessary understanding for their problem of their family.

This study aims to examine how adolescents with diabetes describe and value their experience of participating in a Support group and how they describe the issues of being a teenager with diabetes. This is a qualitative study and we have interviewed three young women who have been participating in a Support group. The results of the interviews were analyzed through a phenomenological method and then compared to earlier research and interpreted through symbolic interactionism and Erikson's development-theory, which were our theories of choice. Our findings Support earlier research when stating that Support groups are important and necessary for adolescents with chronic illnesses. Our interviewees stated that they think that one of the most important benefits of Support groups is to meet other people in their situation; same age and same chronic illness..

In addition to all our soldiers and officers who do military services abroad there are a lot of people who are affected by their choice to contribute, namely their next of kin. This report deals only with those who are next of kin to those who perform service abroad. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relatives' need for emotional and social Support as well as practical and economical Support. The main question is What kind of practical/economical and emotional/social Support do close relatives require when a relative does military service abroad? The method used in this paper is a qualitative research interview.

In health care today at Uppsala County Council the daily work involves spending time at the computer. IT-systems were implemented to Support and aid the care givers in their work. Around these systems there is a Support organization to Support the users in using the system. The aim of this thesis is to investigate this organization in terms of how well it works and how successful it is in helping the users. This has been done by investigating the flow of information trough the organization and by focusing at the role of IT-coordinators with responsibility for Support, process development, education and statistics.
