In the following study I probe the social world of hard-rock music. By conducting interviews with four young male enthusiasts of this music I try to develop a general picture of this social world, as well as of the basic elements on which this particular subculture is constructed. The identity of a hard-rocker is based upon a number of factors beyond just a preference for that music. Throughout the interviews I encountered many implicit norms that one must followed in order to be able to see oneself as a true hard-rocker. I also found that from the respondents? perspective, the mainstream culture has, throughout the history of metal music, used various ways to counter the spreading of this genre.

Early during my education to become an afterschool-teacher a concern was raised that afterschool-programs will continue to be seen as an institution for childcare services. In this experience-based essay, I discuss what I see as the coreproblem: the free- and planned activities. What do the free- and planned activities actually mean for children's development and what is it that determines how much space the various activities will be allowed to take?In my attempts to answer this question, I go through the concept of leisure, the importance of children?s play and adults responsibilities in children?s play, what the different policy documents say about children?s play and the creative work, staff skills and theoretical and practical knowledge. I question whether I was right in the story that I begin this essay with, and conclude that it is more difficult than I previously thought to find an answer to the question..

Studies in Sweden have shown that about 80% of all youth in Sweden have participated in organized sport during their upbringing but at the age of 20 only 50% of these continue. There have been several attempts to understand why youth stop participating in sports but few aimed to understand why they continue. The objective of this study was to examine if there is a difference in motivation between youth (in the ages of 16-20 years) who participate in recreational and elite sports. The study was carried out as a quantitative survey where both recreational (n=35) and elite athletes (n=33) particpated. The study used a Sport Motivation Scale questionnaire translated into Swedish.

Denna uppsats behandlar frågan om rätten till eutanasi och läkarassisterade självmord. Den svenska lagstiftningen och praxisen på området har jämförts med den holländska motsvarigheten, då Holland 2001 blev det första landet i världen som legaliserade eutanasi och läkarassisterade självmord.Frågan om rätten till självvalt livsavslut är ingenting nytt men ändock är frågan kontroversiell och ger upphov till fler frågor än den kan ge svar på. Vilka filosofiska spörsmål och konsekvenser bör man ta ställning till innan en legalisering sker och hur skulle en svensk lagstiftning kunna utformas?I Sverige är det inte olagligt att begå självmord eftersom det är ett angrepp mot den egna rättssfären. Således är det inte heller olagligt att hjälpa någon att ta sitt eget liv.

En av de vanligaste dödsorsakerna bland ungdomar i Sverige är suicid. Den ökade psykiska ohälsan är en vanlig bakomliggande orsak till suicidalitet bland unga. Sjusköterskor upplever ofta en viss osäkerhet i mötet med unga suicidala patienter då de, i bemötandet, inte vet hur de ska gå tillväga. Kunskap och förutsägbarhet är viktiga faktorer för att i tid upptäcka ett suicidalt beteende. Syftet med studien var att belysa vilka faktorer som är betydelsefulla i mötet med unga suicidala patienter.

Background For patients in need for psychiatric care who refuse treatment, coercive care might be necessary due to The Law of Psychiatric Compulsory Care, LPT. The purpose of this law is to make sure the patient later on will be able to increase autonomy. The most frequent patients in coercive care suffer from psychosis, heavy depression or having high risk of committing suicide. One of the most important tasks in the nurse profession is to increase patients? autonomy.

Bakgrund: De senaste åren har antalet suicid och suicidförsök ökat. Livsvärlden i relation till hälsa och ohälsa var bärande begrepp i denna studie då detta ansågs vara av vikt för både hur sjuksköterskan och patienten kom att uppleva mötet efter ett suicidförsök. I bakgrunden beskrevs dessutom vikten av stöd för sjuksköterskan samt vilken roll hon eller han hade gentemot patienter som gjort ett suicidförsök. Syfte: Syftet var att beskriva sjuksköterskans upplevelser i mötet med patienter efter ett suicidförsök. Metod: Vald metod var en litteraturöversikt.

The implementation of a material requirements planning system is a complex and demanding task. There has been much research into what factors are important in such implementations, but seemingly very little about the links between critical success factors and management control systems. This thesis attempts, through a case study, to answer the question of how management control systems affect the implementation of an MRP system in ASSA AB, a Swedish manufacturing firm. Data is primarily collected through interviews. Theory regarding implementation success definitions, critical success factors as well as management control systems is presented.

Results The text analysis showed that out of the ordinary descriptions of quality of life, the author found four new themes. These themes where; the meaning of solidarity, confidence, activity and meaningfulness in the existence. Bakgrund: I Sverige minskar årligen självmorden totalt men bland 15?24-åringar kan en viss ökning ses. Bakom självmord ligger oftast depression men även utanförskap, känsla av hopplöshet och annat emotionellt lidande som kan utlösa suicidalitet. Statistiskt sett har självmordsförsöken, den enskilt största risken för fullbordat självmord, ökat kraftigt främst hos flickor. Viktigt är att ha kunskap om riskgrupper och symtom för att tidigt kunna identifiera självmordstankar och på så sätt rädda liv.

Bolivia is a multiethnic country where the indigenous people constitute the majority of the population. Despite two decades of attempts to take the democracy further is its foundation more volatile than ever. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to examine if exclusion is taken place in Bolivia from year 1982 until today and if so in which way political exclusion constitute problems of democracy in Bolivia. The answer depends on the understanding of democracy used in the analysis. In this thesis I use theories of process-, participation- and deliberative democracy.

This study attempts a literature based reconstruction of the impact of globalisation and modernisation on the gender identities in Vietnam. Recognising the explanatory albeit normative capacity of critical theory ? specifically the feminist and globalisation critical approach ? this thesis argues that in spite of the economic benefits of modernisation, it enhances existing unequal structures. By focusing on women in the labour sector, simultaneously Vietnam's comparative advantage and one of its economically marginalised groups, a contradictory movement can be discovered. Notwithstanding the economic development, a regression in terms of women's possibilities to self-empowerment seems to cancel the benefits for the individual.
