The aim of this thesis is to examine possibilities concerning Subject access to fiction film, i.e. appropriate ways to describe fiction film for Subject retrieval. Problems regarding Subject indexing in general, and Subject indexing of fiction film in particular, are identified, as well as the uniqueness of fiction film and film genres. Four types of Subject aspects are discussed: form and genre, fictitious characters, setting, and general topics. Several guidelines, form- and genre lists, and Subject headings lists are examined and treated as potential indexing tools.

This thesis analyses the conditions for Subject indexing of fiction by studying the relationship between the nature of fiction and the properties of Subject indexing. The analysis is founded on a reading of a recently published Swedish Subject headings list and uses a theoretical framework of Adornos theory of modern reason. The study is conducted through a qualitative text analysis in three steps. In the first step the Subject headings list is analysed by examining how it provides Subject access to fiction by the aspects of form, frame and Subject. In the second step of the analysis these aspects of Subject access are analysed and discussed by relating them to relevant research of Subject indexing of fiction.

This study deals with integration between core Subjects and character Subjects on the upper secondary schools Electrical Engineering Programme. The purpose is to investigate how four teachers define Subject integration, which the advantages and disadvantages are according to them and what the purpose is whit integrate the core Subjects and the character Subjects.The finding in this study highlighted that between themselves the teachers had different definitions of Subject integration. Kost och hälsa : En utvärdering av utbildningseffekter

The purpose of this study is to examine possible teaching effects in the Subject home economics at a school. The study has included one question, which aims to identify if there are any differences in the knowledge between boys and girls in the Subject.The theoretical survey is discussing the Subject diet and health in school and is emphasising on the different parts that are included in the Subject home economics. Further, a historical point of view is given on the development of the Subject, and also on Swedish research concerning health and diet.A questionnaire with fixed and open answering options has been constructed and handed out to two different groups of students. One of the groups are students in year 7, who have not yet had education in the Subject, the other group are students in year 8 who have had education in the Subject. The results show that the effects of education are different between groups that have been educated in the Subject and groups that haven?t had any education.

The purpose of this essay is to study the process of developing electronic Subject guides for the Internet. Our focus is the content, structure and layout of the Subject guide. The study has resulted in a number of guidelines that may be of help in the development of future Subject guides. To achieve this purpose we have studied the existing Subject guide at one of the faculties of the University of Lund, Sweden. We performed a series of interviews with the originators, and made a questionnaire for the users.

The aim of this thesis is to investigate librarians? experiences and opinions about a system for fiction retrieval based on the Subject headings list Att indexera skönlitteratur. I want to know if librarians experience that Subject headings searches for fiction literature are a good working tool, if there according to librarians are other resources and means that makes fiction available and searchable, and how they estimate the possibility of non-professionals to use Subject headings for fiction retrieval. Six librarians at public libraries in Göteborg where interviewed. The interviews dealt with their work with fiction literature, their experiences of Subject headings as a fiction retrieval tool, and with their contacts with patrons.

AbstractThe purpose with this paper is to describe focus in the school Subject swedish through a historic perspective. The purpose is also to intestigate how a group of pupils in the last grade in upper (senior) level of compulsory school and teachers with the Subject swedish thinks about the Subject, what is the most meaningful to pupils in the last grade in upper level of compulsory school.The history of the Swedish school system from the 15 th century till today and the entrance of Swedich as a Subject in school has been studied by literature and curriculum. With help from Mr Lars-Göran Malmgrens analysis of different swedish Subjects the curriculums analyses to see which Subject who appear.Pupils from the last grade in upper level of compulsory school and their teachers in the the Subject swedish have answered questions in two different questionnaires regarding what is most meaningful with the Subject. The result are to be present in this paper as diagram and also in ordinary text.The conclusion is that the Subject swedish has changed from functionalism to formalism and then turned to a more literary education and finally towards functionalism again. The results from the questionnaire papers show that the pupils put most value in learning different skills while the teachers see the importance of both skills and developing the personality..

The aim of this thesis is to seek understanding of which images there are about the ?others? in the society. For this study, four women in the ages of 21-23 years old were interviewed during April 2005. The empirical material was analysed with Laclaus and Mouffes discourse analysis. One conclusion is that the images of the ?immigrant? and the ?immigrant women? are created opposite to the ?Swedes? and the ?Swedish women?.

The aim of this Master's thesis is to investigate the importance of Subject expertise for academic librarians in Skåne. Virtually all librarians in Sweden have studied other Subjects besides library and information science (LIS) before becoming librarians, and in this thesis we ask what happens to this expertise. How many librarians can be said to have a good background in the Subjects they are working with? Do academic librarians use their Subject knowledge on the job? Does it make a difference what Subject one has studied when it comes to job opportunities? What do librarians themselves think of the importance of Subject expertise? We are also interested in finding out how Subject expertise fits in with the growing professionalization of librarianship.A quantitative questionnaire was sent to 195 academic librarians at four different institutes of higher education in Skåne. A total of 107 librarians answered questions about their LIS education, Subject background and current job as well questions on how important they perceived a Subject background to be for themselves and for academic librarians in general.

The empirical setting for the study lies within the sociological discipline. The questions asked are:?
