In this essay there will be four text books from grade 1 studied, the first one are from the year 1976 and it will be going forward to the year 2012. The aim of this study is to see how the genders are depicted and represented, as well as what roles the genders are given. I do also want to see if there is a notable change in this over time. I will be doing a study based on the quantity of the contents, and I will also be doing a critical discourse analysis.The result of the study showed that there were more gender-based constructions that referred to women in all of the four books, which indicates that women are represented more often in these reading books. It is most common to portray the genders in their stereotypical roles, which again are present in society, but sometimes these roles are depart from what?s present in society.

The purpose of this study is to establish whether or not there is a connection between a highincidence of computer gaming and English proficiency in Swedish 9th-graders. The study also takescomputer game genres into account, attempting to see if there is a link between frequent playing ofcertain genres and high English grades.According to this study, there is a clear correlation between the gaming habits of Swedish 9thgradersand the grades they receive in English, with a higher frequency of gaming corresponding toa higher grade. Inom socialtjänsten i Sverige idag råder på många håll problem med höga ärendemängder och svåra arbetsvillkor för dess anställda. Situationen har lett till att många av landets erfarna socialsekreterare lämnar socialtjänsten vilket innebär att organisationen menas tappa viktig erfarenhet och kompetens. För att få en bild av i vilken utsträckning dagens socionomstudenter ser sig som framtidens erfarna socialsekreterare blev syftet med denna studie att undersöka vilka attityder dagens socionomstudenter har till socialtjänsten som arbetsgivare. En enkätundersökning har genomförts bland 147 socionomstudenter från tre olika lärosäten i Stockholm. Resultatet visade att en majoritet kunde tänka sig att arbeta inom socialtjänsten efter avslutad utbildning men att socialtjänsten, för de flesta, inte såg som ett förstahandsval av arbetsgivare.

Andelen kvinnor som väljer och fullföljer bygg- och anläggningsprogrammet är lågt i förhållande till övriga gymnasieprogram. Det är ett problem att så få kvinnor slutför sin utbildning på programmet med tanke på den investering som individen gör i form av insatser i studier och tid som läggs på utbildningen i onödan. Vidare bidrar detta till att arbetsmarknaden fortsätter vara könssegregerad. I den här studien undersöker vi vad som trots allt får kvinnliga elever att stanna kvar på programmet och ta sin yrkesexamen. Syftet är att beskriva och förstå kvinnliga elevers upplevelse av sin utbildning på bygg- och anläggningsprogrammet, samt hur de uppfattar sin karriär och sig själva.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of using more promotion material to enhance the in-store communication of sales promotion. In the retail industry today the research regarding the benefits from using various in-store promotion materials is limited, thus this study was carried out to bring clarity to this subject. The study is carried out in two pharmacies and the design of the study was to add more promotion materials to one store, while keeping the other store in its normal condition and then let the stores change conditions after one week e.g. latin-square design. The data collection of this study consists of four different methods: sales data, a questionnaire with 182 customers, an observation study of 300 consumers and an eye-tracking experiment with 41 participants.

Syftet med detta arbete är att undersöka hur Learning study fungerar för att identifiera och lära elever kritiska aspekter inom matematiken. Learning study bygger på varitationsteori, vilken innebär att undervisning ska bygga på elevens förmåga att se skillnaden mellan en redan känd bakgrund och en förändring. När Learning study genomförs arbetar lärargrupp tillsammans för att skapa en så optimal undervisning som möjligt för ett specifikt lärandeobjekt. För att eleverna ska nå lärandeobjektet, vilket är det moment lärargruppen vill lära ut, måste elverna också förstå sina kristiska aspekter för lärandeobjektet. I detta arbete kommer ingående förklarning av begreppet Learning study göras samt exempel på tidigare studier av Learning studies presenteras: Resultat av detta arbete bygger på min undersökning med metoden Learning study som verktyg, tillsammans med analyser av elva tidigare studier.

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur chefer inom olika branscher har nått sina chefspositioner och vilken nytta de har haft av sina sociala kapital.Undersökningen baseras på sex stycken intervju där respondenterna är jämt könsfördelade, det vill säga att tre av dem är kvinnor och resterande tre är män. Dessa är i sin tur stationerade inom olika branscher och verksamheter.

The purpose of this thesis is to explain why states obtain nuclear weapons and the role variousactors and interests play in the making of states´ nuclear policies. The main questions are asfollows: (1) What big theories exist concerning states obtaining nuclear weapon and nucleararmament in International Relations and what relevance do they have of the post cold-war period?,(2) What is the meaning of the perspective of the Military-Industrial Complex (MIC)?, and (3)Arethere empirical studies which supports the existence of a MIC in the United States?The focus lies on actors and driving forces that are internal to states and it is also important toinvestigate if the theories have relevance for the post 9/11-era. The study uses the method ofqualitative literature-study with some quantitative segments. It is claimed that states might beinterested in justifying their behaviour in a morally appealing way and that real reasons may behidden.

AbstractThis study is about describing the pre- internationalization phase and to studycompanies that are in this phase. We are trying to capture characteristics of decisionmakersin the pre- internationalization phase, to then compare the theoretical materialwith empirical material from case companies. The purpose of this study is to examine the extent recommended design guidelines based on scientific research has a positive impact on user performance and perception when using this study delivered hi-fi prototype. The goal of this study is to provide a Hi-Fi prototype with high usability that will introduce and inform the public about BrasilCine according specifications. Study findings from user testing and supplementary questionnaires show that the implemented technologies as design guidelines for responsive design and design features have a positive impact on user performance and perception. This paper aims to examine how, and if, music is being used integrated in other subjects thanmusic in school. The study is based on qualitative interviews and I haveinterviewed fourteachers, regardless of whether they use music a lot or not.The questions the study is basedon are if there might be a connection between theteachers' own feelings for music andwhether they use music inschool or not, how music is being used and does the use of musicgive any effects?The result of this study shows that there can be a connection between the teachers ownsfeelings for music and the fact if they use music when they teach or not. One of the teachersI?ve interviewed had bad music experiences and didnot use music in her teaching.

The work as a personal assistant is sometimes associated with certain problems. Studies have shown that personal assistants often experience indistinct rules and roles concerning what should or should not be included in their duties. This study was undertaken to evaluate problems associated with the profession as a personal assistant, how widespread they are and how they are dealt with. Specifically, the study evaluates if the personal assistants have to do duties that they consider they are not assigned to do. Different roles (formal as informal) are also discussed which may be of current interest in this study, but also how we see people on basis of ethics and moral.
