This graduate thesis deals with the challenges facing us as we gradually make our urban environments withtheir many public buildings, such as shops, cafés and cinemas, more accessible for disabled people. Theperspective taken is that of the conservationist, who in her or his profession looks to the cultural andhistorical characteristics in buildings and building environments. In order to gain better accessibility, changesin the physical fabric need to be made, with consideration for the cultural and historical characteristics.The introduction presents the subject of considarate accessibility. The second chapter deals with the legalaspects concerning the protection of buildings as well as the accessibility for disabled people. Severalinterviews with different participants are presented here, aiming to tie the legislation to the reality of theconservationist, the disabled, the civil servant working with accessibility issues and the property owner,whose responsibility it is to make the adjustments necessary to improve accessibility.

The aim of this thesis was to study librarians approach upon reference questions and available resources and also to find out if there is any connection between the nature of the reference question and the choice of resource. The purpose was also to give a deeper understanding of the reference work. Nine librarians were given ten reference questions and their reference work was tape recorded. The study was completed with seven interviews sent by email. Some of the reflections were translated under the headlines of form, subject, time, language and availability.

This paper studies the fragmentation and reuse of early christian monuments ("eskilstunakistor") in churches in Östergötland during the medieval period. This is found to have been done in two stages. The first stage shows a collectivization of society. Within religion the change from ancestoral cult towards the saints' cult is important as the fragments are reused like relics. During the second stage the collectivization has been fulfilled, and the reuse is instead part of the christian churches' strategy for incorporating old powerful symbols from the landscape into their own church building..

This paper examines how Hinduism and Buddhism are portrayed in three textbooks for an upper secondary school course in religion and is limited to a selection of books published in 2009. Based on a qualitative content analysis, the paper examines the extent to which there is an intentional division, that is to say a line between ?them and us? in the ways in which the religions are described, and to what extent the description of these religions in the textbooks are Eurocentric. The study focuses on whether or not there is a ?them and us? perspective in the different books and if so, the ways in which this approach is evident.The result of this study shows that traces of a ?them and us? perspective can be found in all three books.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka genom hermeneutisk analysprocess hur fornnordisk mytologi, samhälle och kultur har inspirerat The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Uppsatsen börjar med en övergripande genomgång av den historiska epok som kallas för vikingatiden. Här får läsaren en inblick i vikingarnas vardag, som innefattade jordbruk, handel och sjöröveri. Även samhällets uppbyggnad och dess klassindelningar nämns för att läsaren skall få lite av den generella kunskap som behövs för att följa med i analysen som denna uppsats baseras på. Även grundläggande beskrivning av den religiösa kulten tas upp och ett antal av gudarna beskrivs.

The teaching of modern foreign languages within Swedish educational system has been a subject of a number of alarming reports in recent years. Several studies have shown that students lack motivation to learn any language but English. Of particular concern is the young males? underachieving and disinterest in foreign languages. In the meantime, a number of international studies and the statistical data from Swedish national agencies of secondary and higher education (Skolverket and Högskoleverket) have indicated that Russian is one of the languages that are favoured by males. The primary goal of my case study was, therefore, to examine students? motivation to learn Russian and their attitudes towards language, community and Russian-speaking people.

I detta arbete är syftet att undersöka förhållningssätt kring lärandet om religion i förskolan. Förskolan är en arena för möten och många aktörer kring barnet möts på förskolan. Förskolepedagoger möter inte bara barnen utan även deras föräldrar och de önskemål som de har. Förskolepedagoger möter även de krav som samhället ställer. För att kunna ringa in förhållningssätt kring dessa möten har jag tillämpat ett praxisnära samarbete med ett arbetslag på en förskola.

Det har funnits en speciell mytisk bild av den fornskandinaviska mytologin sedan romantikens fantasifulla epok. Det ges ofta en bild som beskriver gudar och människors samspel på ett lekfullt sätt. Schamanismen har med sin annorlunda världsbild stått för något exotiskt men samtidigt skrämmande. I uppsatsen ges en beskrivning av fornskandinavisk sejd och samisk schamanism och en jämförelse mellan dessas likheter och skillnader. Genom att söka svar i både den poetiska och prosaiska Eddan, samt Heimskringla söker författaren komponenter för att beskriva det magiska fenomenet sejd.

Some MNEs encounter frustration or failures when they enter a new market. The main reason is due to a lack of adaptation. There is a lack of theoretical study about the local adaptation phenomenon of Swedish MNEs in China. Most studies are at the level of experience. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to find out the dimensions subject to local adaptation and their degree for the Swedish MNEs in China.

This thesis, entitled The Headmaster and the Music, is based on interviews with four headmasters, who are all working in the Swedish compulsory school. The purpose is to investigate how they view music, both in general and as a school subject. Since the research on this topic is scarce, the study can be described as explorative.The result shows that the headmasters? personal experiences have an impact on the way they view music. Four different focus points on music in school have emerged from the material, and these represent the four very different views that each headmaster holds.

The aim of this master ´s thesis is to understand why there are difficulties in finding joint methods and standards in the field of image indexing. The main focus for interpreting these issues is on Sara Shatford ´s article Analyzing the Subject of a Picture: A Theoretical Approach. In the article Shatford discusses a theoretical basis for identifying and classifying the subject in a picture. In doing so she uses concepts taken from The Philosophy of Art, Meaning in Language and Visual Perception. With the aid of S.R.

The main objective of this research was to examine description of Islam in two different schoolbooks about religion. The rapport starts with an introduction of the subject and discusses the background of the topic. After the presentation, aims, and the questions I present my methods and material used in this research. Following the method and material is earlier research where I mention some of the previous rapports and results of researchers within the discourse. The theory used to investigate the text is postcolonial and the orientalism theory presented by Edward Said.The intention of the research was to answer if the books representation contributed to an oriental description of Islam and Muslims and to see how the text and pictures where used and structured.

Mitt examensarbete har varit inriktat på elevinflytandet, och då i synnerhet på elevinflytande inom ämnet religion och livsfrågor. Arbetets syfte har varit att undersöka på vilket sätt elevinflytandet styr val av metod och det didaktiska urvalet i religionsundervisning och lärande i religion och livsfrågor. Om eleverna ansåg att de hade ett sådant inflytande som gav dem möjlighet att påverka och om de upplevde att deras åsikter respekterades i livsfrågediskussioner. Jag har studerat litteratur om elevinflytande och om religions- och livsfrågeundervisning, och dessutom de aktuella styrdokumenten. Som informationshämtande metod har jag använt mig av kvalitativ intervju av åtta elever i årskurs nio i en skola belägen i en småstad i Norrbotten.
