Studenters användning av elektroniska källor ? en användarundersökning vid Växjö universitetsbibliotek
The purpose of this master?s thesis is to gain insights into Students? usage and attitudes towards electronic articles and electronic books and how Students feel about a change from print collections to digital collections at Växjö University Library. The main questions are: How do different groups of Students use the library collections of electronic articles and electronic books? What factors influence the usage of the library collections of electronic articles and electronic books among Students? What are the Students? experiences of reading electronic books in comparison with reading print books? What would different groups of Students think if the literature they need for their studies were purchased in electronic form instead of print? To answer the questions a user study was carried out at Växjö university library. A web survey was sent to Students that had a library card and an email address registered at the library.

This paper will portray the differences and similarities that exist between Students whoattended the Swedish School of Library and Information Science in Borås.The study is based upon quantitative information gathered from a survey which wasdistributed to first-year Students in Borås in the auturnn term 1994. A total of 77 Studentsresponded to the survey.We also do a comparative study of the Students at all the library programs in Sweden.This is partially based on the findings by a thesis prior to this one by the authorsSvalstedt and Österdahl.We found that the Students in Borås differ mainly in their personal histories and backgrounds.When it comes to their attitudes towards the profession and educationalmatters they are similar. NO-undervisning i klassrummet : En observationsstudie i hur undervisningen bedrivs av fem lärare på en skola
This essay is based on Students' growing lack of interest in science at school. Both from a democratic and social perspective, this is a worrying factor for the future. Through observation, I investigated how five science teachers conduct their teaching. This is to get a better understanding of how teachers' behaviour in the classroom can affect Students' interest in science. With a socio-cultural research approach, I have tried to highlight a few pieces of the puzzle that may explain Students' declining interest in science.
Svårigheter i matematik för elever med svenska som andraspråk : Lärares syn på problem och möjligheter
In today?s society teachers will face Students of foreign origin. It is up to the teachers to help these Students gain the knowledge they need to flourish in society. Despite the fact that mathematics is a universal topic with high status in many countries, studies have shown that mathematics is a subject where a large proportion of foreign Students fails. The purpose of this study was to see wherein the problem lies and describe teachers' perceptions of the barriers and the opportunities in mathematics for Students with Swedish as a second language.

The individual educational plan (IEP) is a document used in Swedish schools. The purpose of the document is to help and support Students who have difficulties in their schoolwork in various ways. In my experience, the student does not always understand the importance of establishing an IEP as a support and help at school. In this study I try to understand the Students? experience of its relevance and purpose and the impact which can be achieved by an IEP.

Abstract AimThe purpose of this study has been to investigate the possible differences in grades and attitudes towards further studies that can be explained by the student?s level of physical activity. The questions we wanted answers to were:- Does Students in more sports-oriented programs have better grades than Students in more theoretical programs?- Is there a relationship between physical activity and study-results?- Are there any differences in attitudes towards further studies for Students at the different programs?- Which other variables could be affecting the Students grades?Method The extent of this study has included 3 municipal schools and 6 classes (2 from each school) ? in all 119 Students and 6 teachers. 3 different social sciences programs have participated ? two sports-oriented and one without any sports-oriented concentration .

The Swedish school law says that Students who need special education should have all the support they need to reach the qualification that is set up. The arrangements have to be written down in an Individual education plan (IEP). Before the IEP is set up there has to be an investigation about what kind of support and measures the student needs to reach the qualification that is set up. The aim of this study is to examine student?s participation in school and in the progress with their own IEP.I have accomplished a qualitative study by interviewing eight Students during the letter part in the nine-year school.

The objective of the master thesis is to analyze how future business administrators relate to discriminatory structures during their period of studies. Eight Students studying business administration have been interviewed. The empirical material is analyzed with theories from the field of research of Critical Whiteness Studies and Feminist Organization Theory. The theories are chosen from a Situated Knowledge perspective. It turns out that the interviewed Students have a conception of an ideal student who studies business administration.

The purpose with this essay is to find out how aware Students are about the environment, andif they believe that their actions can influence the environment. I have used both earlierresearch and questionnaire surveys in order to fulfill the purpose. In earlier research, I haveused research based on materials that are scientific. According to the researchers it isimportant that the children and young people become involved and dedicated to theenvironment and its surrounding world. It is important to listen to the children's thoughts andvisions as they are aware about what happens, but do not reflect on the worst, but hope that itbecomes an improvement in the future.
AFK : chatt- och SMS-språk på väg in i klassrummet?
The new technology brings new opportunities for the language. The language, which is used when chatting or messaging, is full of linguistic devices, which facilitates writing and saves time and space. The purpose of my investigation is to find out if the chat- and- messaging- language is affecting the Students' way of writing in school.To find out about this I have examined 79 essays written by Students in grade 9 during the national test 2006. I have also to found out if the occurrence of these features differed between boys and girls. In addition, I have let the same Students who have written the essays answer questions regarding their chatting- and messaging- habits.The conclusions I have attained through my investigation shows that 58 % of the Students are using features which are typical in chat and messaging language.
Läsinlärning i finlandssvenska skolor : En undersökning av lärares syn på läsinlärning i årskurs 1-2 vid tre finlandssvenska skolor.
Finnish student have for several years proved to be successful in reading in international studies. This interview based study aims to describe how teachers in Finnish schools for Swedish speaking children are relating to reading and reading education during the first two years of schooling. The result shows that reading, reading training and reading comprehension are natural elements in all teaching during the first two years in school and that teaching is based on Students? ability and interest. The teachers claim that they provide the Students with varying opportunities to practice different kinds of reading.
Matematiksvårigheter : En studie om fyra pedagogers erfarenheter kring matematiksvårigheter med exempel på pedagogiskt arbetssätt
For many years, I have tried to understand why Students end up in difficulties in mathematics. As a future teacher, it is extremely important to have knowledge of the various factors that leads to difficulties in mathematics. As a teacher it is obvious to meet the Students who find mathematics a difficult subject, and, therefore it is necessary to have a broader knowledge of how to respond and support these Students. According to Ahlberg, number of Students with mathematics difficulties is increasing every year, therefore, it is important to help Students and organize a supporting school environment that promotes and encourages learning (Ahlberg 2001, p. 104-105).
Trombon i blodet? : Vilka faktorer påverkar trombonelevers val av sitt instrument?
In this survey I have been trying to find out which factors influence the Students? choice of instrument. I hope to, through the results, gain knowledge about how to reach interested Students in my future work as a trombone educator.I have let 15 Students that have played trombone in the County Music Academy one to three years, answer my inquiry concerning their choice of instrument. The Students? parents were also asked to give an explanation to what they think made their child play the trombone and whether they tried to influence their child in the choice of instrument.
Ett individintegrerat läsår - marginalisering eller möjlighet : En studie om tre individintegrerade elever i gymnasiesärskolan
The purpose of this study is to acquire knowledge about how interaction, participation and inclusion are affected by individual integration for three Students in upper secondary education for pupils with learning disabilities. To be individually integrated means, in this case, that the Students from compulsory school for children with learning disabilities are taking part in some of the programme-specific courses together with Students from the regular upper secondary school. This study gets its inspiration from the ethnographic research approach, and uses passive observations together with interviews with Students and their guardians as main methods to collect information.The school in question has not made any adjustments to make the programme-specific courses more adapted to the different needs, which is typical of integration. This study shows that the school presumes that the Students with the help from the vocational teacher, but without any special needs educational help, themselves are to adapt to the conditions at the regular upper secondary school. This, together with the lack of special needs educational competence among the vocational teachers, led to a higher level of exclusion and an enhanced feeling of not being up to standard among the integrated Students.The results also show that the integrated Students maintain a strong wish to be included with the Students attending the regular upper secondary school.
