Lokalhistoria i undervisningen : En analys av 6 gymnasielärarnas historiebruk och 4 gymnasieelevers historiemedvetande på några svenska gymnasieskolor.

The purpose of this study is to examine if, how and why history teachers work with local history projects in education. The results will be analyzed based on a theory of the uses of history. I also investigate, through group interwiews with Students, if and how Students? historical consciousness may develop through teaching about local history. The result is a variation map of teachers? different uses of history and how Students historical consciousness can manifest itself.The results of the study shows that all the teachers interviewed uses local history projects in education.

En formalisering av matematiken i svensk gymnasieundervisning

This study examines how formal mathematics can be taught in the Swedishsecondary school with its new curriculum for mathematics. The study examineswhat a teaching material in formal mathematics corresponding to the initialcontent of the course Mathematics 1c could look like, and whether formalmathematics can be taught to high school Students.The survey was conducted with second year Students from the science programme.The majority of these Students studied the course Mathematics D.The Students described themselves as not being motivated towards mathematics.The results show that the content of the curriculum can be presented withformal mathematics. This both in terms of requirements for content and Studentsbeing able to comprehend this content. The curriculum also requires thatthis type of mathematics is introduced in the course Mathematics 1c.The results also show that Students are open towards and want more formalmathematics in their ordinary education. They initially felt it was strangebecause they had never encountered this type of mathematics before, but someStudents found the formal mathematics to be easier than the mathematicsordinarily presented in class.The study finds no reason to postpone the meeting with the formal mathematicsto university level.

Aim and questionsThe purpose for this study was to investigate how marks and mark settings are formed in physical training at some compulsory schools. We also wanted to see how the criteria for marks are formed. These were the main questions during this study.? How do the Students find the evaluation and the making in physical training?? Are there differences between different student groups when it comes to their experience around estimation and marking in physical training? (gender, marks, schools etc.)? How do the teachers motivate their marking in physical training?? Are there any differences between the criteria for marking between different schools?MethodThe study was carried out during the spring 2005 at eight schools in a municipality in the middle of Sweden. The study involved 339 Students opinion polls and 12 teacher opinion polls.

The aim of this thesis is to contribute to increased knowledge concerning Students? information seeking in an electronic environment. Using a qualitative approach; focus groups interviews, a total of nine nursing Students were interviewed in two groups. The interviews were transcribed and analyzed with an analysis tool based upon Lucy Kuntz?s, Gary Marchionini?s and Carol C Kuhlthau?s models of the information seeking process.

This present study is a result of a research that I made . My purpose is to find out how the debate about inclusion looked like back in the history. My research was about the view we had absolut inclusion in the history, I also made some interviewes among teachers and Students in the schools of today. I wanted to se their views about inclusion today and I wanted to know their opinions about inclusion. Did the Students and the teachers have prejudice against other Students with functional disabilities as Down syndrom and blindness? What was their thoughts about inclusion of Students with differents functional disabilities?One more task I had with this study I made was to raise another debate about inclusion .! Keywords: Inclusion and funtional disabilities.

Gymnasieelevers syn på vuxna i skolan i allmänhet och skolkuratorer i synnerhet

The purpose of this study was to examine how Swedish high school Students view school staff members, in general, but in particular school counselors. The research questions focused on getting the Students descriptions of the staff members roles and functions within the school. The study was conducted using focus group interviews. The answers were divided into themes and then analyzed using role theory and previous research. The results showed that the Students relationships with family, friends and previous knowledge about the staff members in school, affects their willingness to seek the support of school staff members.

Ta parti! : Gymnasieelevers uppfattade påverkan inför riksdagsvalet 2010

In this examination project I look into what ways upper secondary school Students conceive themselves as politically influenced before they voted for the general election of 2010. The purpose is to examine which influences the upper secondary school surroundings and the classes of civic education are contributing with to Students before they voted. As a method, I have used personal, semi-structural interviews on eight upper secondary school Students who all voted for a party represented in the parliament. I have asked questions about how they believe their parents, the surroundings of their school and the classes of civic education have influenced them. To separate which influences primarily the upper secondary school and the classes of civic educations have had on the Students, I have selected two comparison groups of four Students in each.

Humant papillomvirus : Gymnasieelevers kunskaper om och attityder till HPV, HPV-vaccin, kondomanvändning och cellprovtagning

Purpose: To assess awareness and attitudes regarding HPV, HPV-vaccines, use of condom and participation in pap-smear screening among high-school Students in Uppsala County. The intention was also to investigate if there were any differences between Students at theoretical programmes and vocational programmes.Methods: 608 Students from seven high-schools in Uppsala County answered a questionnaire covering demographics, awareness and attitudes regarding HPV, HPV-vaccine, use of condoms and pap-smear tests.Results: A majority of the Students had never heard of HPV (86 %, n=521), HPV-vaccine (94 %, n=537) or the link between HPV and cervical cancer (88 %, n=563). Most respondents had a positive attitude towards HPV-vaccine (84 %, n=508), but the biggest obstacle was the high cost (37 %, n=227). The Students believed that it was less likely that they would use a condom with a new partner if vaccinated (mean=78, SD=26, p<0.001), or if they or their partner used contraceptive pills (mean=62, SD=32, p<0.001) compared to how likely it was that they would use a condom in general with a new partner. The girls rated the probability that they would participate in a pap-smear screening as relatively low if vaccinated (mean=59 SD=27).

Eleven i fokus : En studie över gymnasieelevers läsning

The aim of this study is to find out what education in literature is like from a student perspective; what kind of literature the Students read and how well they understand literature, and the methods and didactics used during the literature lessons. The questions at issue are:1) What kind of literature do the Students read?2) How well do the Students understand literary texts?3) What do the Students think about their literature education?To be able to answer the questions, both quantitative and qualitative methods have been used in the study. The inquiry was accomplished on 29 Students, 17 boys and 12 girls in the upper secondary school. The result showed, despite the limited amount of Students, interesting facts.

Global uppvärmning : gymnasieelevers oro och kunskap

Global warming is generally recognized as one of the major environmental challenges we have to face in the near future. The Students in school today are the ones that will have to deal with the consequences of it tomorrow. That is why education about it is so important. Previous research shows that Students believe that environmental issues in general are important problems to be solved. I this study I tested Students in grade twelve, in four different schools in order to find out what their level of knowledge about global warming is, how worried they are about it and if there are any correlation between their knowledge and their level of worry.

Riktar sig nationella proven till alla elever? : En kvalitativ studie av några lärares upplevelser av arbetet med de nationella proven med elever som inte har svenska som modersmål

The purpose of this study is to illustrate how some teachers in multicultural school environments reflecton and experience the educational work with national tests in the third grade for Students who do not have Swedish as their native language. The research questions I have chosen to work with are:How do teachers experience working with national tests in groups of Students where there are children with Swedish as a second language?How do the teachers reflect on the Students linguistic preconditions relating to the national tests in these groups of Students?What strategies in their teaching on national tests do the teachers use when it comes to Students with Swedish as a second language?In this study I have chosen to use a qualitative interview method. Since the purpose of the study is to understand how teachers reflect on Students with Swedish as a second language the obvious choice was to interview teachers who work in a multicultural school. In my thesis I have chosen to use sociocultural theory, Cummins four quadrant model and context for theoretical approach.
