This examination project focuses on the pupils and teachers experience of written assessments and grades.  To highlight the significance of assessments and grades we will present the background to the development of the current educational view of knowledge, assessment and marking models.  Today?s current laws and policies are described as is a proposal for a future law and grading scheme.The project is based on literature we have read and the empirical material is derived from interviews with eight students and two teachers. Four of the students are eleven years old, the other four are between seventeen and nineteen. The teachers teach years four and five. Each sex is equally represented.  The interview questions are based on the students memories and personal development discussions in which the written assessments were presented.

När jag har varit ute i gymnasieskolan på praktik har jag mött elever med väldigt olika attityder och inställningar till matematik. Dessa attityder kan ha följt med eleverna länge, då de möter matematiken för första gången i förskolan. När eleverna sedan når gymnasiet är de olika motiverade för att lära sig matematik och som lärare kan det vara svårt att veta hur man ska motivera sina elever till att lära sig matematik. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie är att sammanställa och analysera vilka yttre- och intre faktorer som påverkar elevers motivation i ämnet matematik, för att sedan kunna diskutera vad dessa faktorer kan ha för inverkan på elever motivation på gymnasiet.Litteraturstudien visar att det finns flertalet yttre- och inre faktorer som kan påverka elevers motivation för att lära sig matematik under skolgången och att det finns olika teorier om när elevers motivation för att lära sig matematik sjunker. Dessa faktorer har olika stor påverkan på elevernas motivation på gymnasiet och de flesta av faktorerna kommer att kunna påverka eleverna även när de går på gymnasiet.

The thesis of this essay is how literary texts are selected in the teaching of Swedish in upper secondary school, and how teachers reflect upon gender in these selections. To answer the thesis question three methods have been used. Firstly interviews were held with five teachers of Swedish, which have been the primary source for the essay. In addition to the interviews, I have examined two literary anthologies used as teaching aid in the teaching of Swedish and lastly I analyzed the literature and authors that the teachers explicitly express that they use in their tutoring. The secondary sources of this thesis contain research on selections of fictional texts, literary canon and students? re-production of gender.

Motivation är drivkraften till mänskligt agerande, värderande och produktivitet. I skolan är detta ett aktuellt begrepp då motivation till lärande är en betydande del av en elevs utveckling inom skolan. Lärare får därmed dagligen försöka hjälpa elever skapa motivation till lärande för att de ska klara de utsatta målen som finns i läroplanen. Det är en svår uppgift att som lärare stödja elever i deras skapande av motivation till lärande. Begreppet motivation till lärande är inget outforskat område, däremot ett viktigt fenomen som jag tyvärr känner inte uppmärksammas nog mycket inom lärarutbildningen eller tydliggörs i de beslut som tas inom skolan.

Föreliggande uppsats undersöker sambandet mellan självbild ochanvändning av inlärningsstrategier samt deras relation med motivationoch autonomi hos inlärare av svenska som andraspråk. Huvudfokus iuppsatsen ligger på inlärningsstrategier. Jag utgår från Rebecka L.Oxfords klassificering av inlärningsstrategier (1990) och redogör ävenför självbild, motivation och autonomi. I samband med detta ges enöverblick i ämnet svenska som andraspråk samt hur kursplanen i ämnetbehandlar självbild, inlärningsstrategier, motivation och autonomi. Somunderlag för studien ligger kvalitativa intervjuer med fyraandraspråksinlärare.

The purpose with this essay is to contribute with knowledge on how pedagogues in Swedish schools can prevent cultural clashes between themselves and their pupils and between pupils from different cultural backgrounds.The survey is done with qualitative interviews with three pedagogues.The result shows the importance that the pedagogues are positive to cultural meetings and that they acquire intercultural competence. The result also shows that the interviewed pedagogues acquired competences through direct meeting with students and their parents, courses, lectures and literature.The conclusion of this essay is that if pedagogues obtain more knowledge about their own and other`s culture, it would prevent cultural clashes in school.I believe that if the pedagogue teaches his/her students that there are different ways to think in the world, fewer cultural clashes would occur between the students.Key words: culture clash, education, communication.

This study aims to examine how the students ethnic background affects them in their social relationships at school. The main research questions in this study have been: How does the ethnic background of students affect there social relationships with their friends at school?How does the identity creates and develop in the context of social relationships? What significance does the language that is spoken hold in the social relationships of the childrenThe main research questions have been investigated based on the students perspective, where the two main methods were individual interviews and observation on the schoolyard during recess. The interviews and observations where carried out at eight informants with three different ethnic backgrounds. The three ethnic backgrounds were Swedish, Somali, and Syrian.           The results of the study showed in the interviews that no one of the informants differentiated themselves from their friends who came from different ethnic backgrounds from which they did, they did not categorize themselves based upon their ethnicity.

The purpose of this diagnostic master thesis is to examine the motivation of the individuals working in a specific section at Sony Ericsson BGNMVNL. In order to do this, we will distinguish motivational and de-motivational factors that influence the individuals? in their work. Further, we also have the aim of giving recommendations on how to act on these outcomes in order to improve the motivation in BGNMVNL. Our thesis is a diagnostic study in which data is collected by qualitative face-to-face interviews and observations with selected individuals at Sony Ericsson.

Examensarbetet är en kvalitativ studie i form av intervjuer med erkänt duktiga tränare. Studien har på ett induktivt sätt undersökt hur dessa tränare praktiserar för att upprätthålla en positiv motivation hos sina aktiva. Resultatet visade att fyra av fem tränare är uppgiftsorienterade vilket innebär att de fokuserar på individens individuella framsteg, istället för på resultatet. Detta tillvägagångssätt bidrar till en högre inre motivation hos de aktiva, vilket forskning vidare har visat leder till att de aktiva fortsätter idrotta längre upp i åldern. Samtliga tränare arbetade med individuella samtal och påpekar att detta är ett viktigt instrument för att få aktiva att komma över förluster och bibehålla en positiv motivation.

AbstractThis thesis explores how secondary schoolteachers in Swedish, prioritise from the Swedish language history materials. The study includes interviews with two Swedish teachers and inquiries with students in two classes at the social science programme (third year). The student literature that is used has been analysed and the teaching is compared with the Swedish central teaching plan. The results show that the students are weak in placing language at different historical time periods and make conclusions of this. The results from both the inquiries and teaching contents disclose a general weakness as it comes to Swedish language history.

Syftet med studien är att få en ökad kunskap om vad som motiverar elever i årskurs fem i lärarledda lärandesituationer. Valet att utföra studien i årskurs fem beror på att vi under vår studietid har mött elever i denna årskurs och har ställt oss undrande till vad det är som motiverar dem. Motivation är ett begrepp som har genomsyrat lärarutbildningen och på grund av detta ville vi veta mer om hur eleverna uppfattar begreppet. Flera teoretiker menar att elevers motivation till lärande kan påverkas av såväl inre som yttre faktorer samt diverse behov. Jenner (2004) anser att det även finns en tredje faktor där eleverna tycks pendla mellan faktorerna.

The aim of our bachelor thesis was to study how the personnel incharge of the mobile websites at two University Libraries and thestudents at those Universities viewed the mobile websites, and iftheir views in any way differed.Our research questions were:Why have the examined Libraries chosen to offer mobilewebsites?How do the students at the examined Universities experience anduse respective mobile website?Are there differences between the staff?s intentions with themobile websites and how they are used and experienced by thestudents, and how could they be explained?Semistructured interviews were conducted with six staff membersresponsible for the mobile websites and eleven students that hadexperience in using these. The theoretical framework for thisthesis consists of Klasson?s three models for University Librarianspersonas, and the parts of Rogers theory about diffusion ofinnovations that concerns the attributes of innovations and thecommunication channels.The result of the study indicates that there are some differencesabout how the students use and experience the mobile websitesand the staffs intentions for them. The students required contentwhich the staff had discarded.

This bachelor thesis portray a project where the main task were to develop a computer based system prototype for handling of absence report at the upper secondary school af Chapman in Karlskrona. The project has been conducted in cooperation with students from the university programs software engineering and information economy at Blekinge Institute of Technology. Our task as MDA-students have been to survey the process of absence report of today through field studies and give a proposal of a graphical user interface which later were developed by the software engineers. The thesis also handles the cooperation with other students from other university programs..

Meeting the pupils at work it is important to endeavor an adjustment of the education with the purpose of developing the individual person. To make this possible it requires, except for the intentions of teaching with an individual adjustment, the teacher to make oneself acquainted with the schools work and liability. This is especially important in the work with students with difficulties. for this group of students perhaps an alternative form of education would be to prefer.As method of investigation I used a qualitative case study with a teacher who uses, what I would call, an alternative way of teaching. as a teacher you should pay attention to, and be aware of, how you effect your pupils and with this as a starting point conduct oneself.

Previous research shows that Swedish teenagers? reading of fiction have decreased during the last decade (Skolverket 2006). As future librarians we found ourselves asking why, and an interest to look into this was triggered. The purpose of this Bachelor thesis is therefore to examine why teenagers? reading of fiction is decreasing. Focus lies on students? perception of their own reading, both inside and outside the school environment.
