En bild säger mer än tusen ord : En analys av GQ Magazines omslagsbilder och årskurs 9 elevers tolkning av dem
A picture says more than thousand words - an analysis of GQ Magazine´s cover images and ninth grade Student´s views of them is an essay in media and communication studies covering 15 hp. This essay examines how men and women are depicted on the cover of GQ Magazine and how ninth grade Students perceive these images. Our research questions are: How is gender presented in cover images? How do the Students interpret these images? What possible differencies or similarities are there? Our theoretical framework is based on gender theory. Methods used are a survey conducted at Tegs Central school and a semiotic analysis of the cover images.
VÄNSKAP eller BETYG?
Abstract: Människan har i tidig ålder behov av att uppleva samhörighet och känna tillhörighet till ett socialt nätverk för att utvecklas kognitivt, emotionellt och socialt. Tonåringens sociala samspel och vänskapsrelationer upptar en stor del av tonåringens tid, både när det gäller faktiska handlingar samt sinnet, och oftast sker den sociala samvaron på skolan. Syfte med denna studie var att öka förståelsen om kunskapen om hur vänskap påverkar betygen hos flickor i årskurs nio. Det vill vi göra genom att undersöka hur mycket tid flickor disponerar för studier och vänner samt om de uppfattar att deras vänskap påverkar deras betyg och dessutom hur flickorna ser på sina betyg. Vi vill uppnå syftet genom fasta svarsalternativ, vi bestämde oss därför för att använda enkäter och där med ansåg vi att en kvantitativ metod var rimlig för vårt syfte och våra frågeställningar.
Kulturarv i stadsutveckling : Kvarteret Almen Karlstad Värmland
This essay is from a Student at the cultural science program in Karlstad University. The essay in Culture studies deals about the history use and about the cultural-historical values on buildings. The buildings are from a certain area called the neighborhood Almen and have in the past been threatening many times of demolition. The neighborhood Almen buildings survived a huge city fire back in the 19th century. Since then the buildings has been known as a memory and by the inhabitants and as the oldest part of the city left.

The aim of this study is to investigate how Swedish elementary school teachers proceed in cases of suspected child abuse, what knowledge teachers have in order to identify signs of child abuse and to make a report to social services, and also the obstacles teachers face during a report to social services. We used qualitative interviews with five practicing teachers; three was conducted at the teachers´ workplaces and the other two with the help of telephones. We used the role theory to analyze our results. We have concluded that teachers request more knowledge of signs of maltreatment and that they find their skills in discovering child abuse lacking. As obstacles to reporting, teachers identify their doubts and worries together with the difficulties that the often concealed child abuse brings.
En syn på det livslånga lärandet : Litteraturstudie av åtta studentuppsatser
In this essay, we examine what kind of themes that are found in essays written by Students who have studied within the teacher programme at universities in Sweden. The goal of our essay is to find themes that are reoccurring in eight Student essays, and that can be understood through the concept of lifelong learning. Our essay combines three research methods. It is mainly an essay where we utilize qualitative reading research, but we have also gained inspiration from hermeneutics and the critical thinking.The result of our study shows that Students within the teacher programme in Sweden are well aware of the strong points found within the concept of lifelong learning. Three themes were found that were reoccurring within all essays.
Sjuksköterskans yrkesroll och patientrollen i ett historiskt perspektiv : En kvalitativ intervjustudie
Aim: The aim of this qualitative interview study was to describe the nurse's professional role and the role as a patient during different time periods. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, where respondents had a link to the nursing profession, either as a Student, now working nurse or retired nurse. Method: The data were analyzed using a content analysis. Result: The older nurses believe that nurses today has a high status and is seen as a well-read and well informed person. Most respondents believe that collaboration between nurses and doctors has improved since past.
Att skriva utan penna : En studie av datorns betydelse för skrivande på gymnasienivå
The purpose of this study is to investigate how important computers are for text production in upper secondary school level, and to find out what attitudes some Students have towards computers in writing classes. I have let 44 Students in the Swedish gymnasium course Swedish B write an argumentative essay. Half of the group wrote using paper and pencil, and the other half used computers. The essays were graded, and the language and length of the texts were analyzed. The Students also filled in a questionnaire with questions on computer aided writing classes.The results showed that the texts that were written with computers contained a significant larger amount of words and fewer spelling mistakes.
En studie av fyra pedagogers erfarenheter och tankar kring motivationsarbete av understimulerade elever i grundskolans tidigare år
Bakgrunden till denna rapport är ett gemensamt intresse av motivationsarbete med understimulerade elever. Syftet med rapporten är att undersöka hur pedagoger i grundskolans tidigare år motiverar understimulerade elever till kunskapsinhämtning. Detta för att blivande lärare skall få flera verktyg att motivera elever till att känna lust att lära och ta in kunskap. Det förekommer understimulerade elever i grundskolan. Dessa stimuleras inte att arbeta med tillräckligt intressanta och utmanande uppgifter utifrån den enskilda elevens proximala zon.

Secondary schools have for decades debated whether they promote social reproduction which is considered to generate the homogeneous Student compositions. The gap between the academic programs and vocational education programs is considered to increase. What in recent years has appeared in research is that the gap is increasing most tend to be in the specific academic program, particularly in science. This paper's intention is to describe the science program at a local level and the pupils who were admitted to the science program autumn 2009 on the basis of an educational sociological perspective. The survey consisted of a census in which all Students were given the opportunity to answer a questionnaire.
Världen vill bedras... : Lärare och elever om källkritik
The aim with this study is to examine how Students and teachers value source criticism. Partly, this regards how teachers practice this in their teaching and how Students work with it during lessons ? but also how Students value source criticism in situations where the teacher not has pointed out that this topic is part of the actual assignment. Moreover, there is a focus on investigating how Students who are critical of the sources take this into account in their daily lives; for example, when they surf on the Internet or when they discuss news articles or other media. This essay is based on interviews with Students and teachers, using a qualitative method. The results of this study show that both Students and teachers find source criticism to be of major importance.
Att använda ett undersökande arbetssätt i NO-undervisningen : En jämförelse mellan kommunal- och resursskola
The purpose of this study is to compare an inquiry-based teaching method for natural sciences in municipal schools and special education and to find out if this way of teaching may be helpful when working with Students with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).The Swedish national curriculum of 2011 states that teaching methods should be fitted to every Student?s needs and preconditions. The implication of this is very important for all Students, especially for children with special needs. The theoretical framework that has been applied as a foundation for this study is Vygotskijs "Zone of Proximal Development" and Deweys "Learning by Doing". The method applied for the study is a semi structured interview and five teachers where interviewed.The result of the study shows that teachers with a higher education in natural sciences are more confident with regards to teaching natural sciences and the application of the inquiry-based way of teaching.

This essay examines what some of the Swedish authorities? argument are for vegetation, what their grounds are for the arguments and why vegetation is important for the human health and experience. Ingenting är sant, allt är tillåtet : En kvalitativ studie om historiska datorspel som Assassin?s Creeds påverkan för det oavsiktliga lärandet och dess pedagogiska möjligheter
The main purpose of this study is to investigate the unintentional learning that happens during the use of computer games. With the use of interviews with Students in the ages 13-15 who all have played the game series Assassin?s Creed, and then compared them with Students who does not play the game, we have been able to identify that some learning is taking place, but that the Student?s attitude towards the subject, and their maturity, also is vital for the learning. Even tough, the Students who didn?t really enjoy history as a subject showed better knowledge after playing the game, than the Students who hadn?t played at all, which indicates that computer games can be a good source for learning.

What do the members? presentations look like? Do men and women select different ways to present themselves, and how does it look between the different age groups?Material/Method: Qualitative method with 42 presentation texts, half men, and half women in three different age groups collected from a Swedish dating site.Main results: The study shows that men and women choose to highlight their good points at self presentation in the Student forum. The differences between the various age groups proved not to be significantly large.

Mitt syfte med detta arbete har varit att belysa det problem som det kan innebära för en skola att
hantera elever som flyttat in under grundskoletiden och undersöka hur dessa elevers resultat
påverkas av det faktum att de har flyttat in från en annan skola.
Den teori jag har använt är huvudsakligen systemteorin som den beskrivs i Peter Senges ?Den
femte disciplinen?. Jag valde denna teori eftersom frågeställningen i detta arbete förutsätter att
man intar ett övergripande perspektiv på frågor som rör hela den svenska grundskolan ? hela
systemet.
I undersökningen används till största delen statistiska metoder för att ta fram och analysera hur
stor andel av eleverna i tre svenska grundskolor i en kommun som har flyttat under sin
grundskoletid och hur det har påverkat deras resultat, mätt som meritvärde i slutet av årskurs nio.
Undersökningen visar att deras resultat, mätt som genomsnittet av meritvärdena i årskurs nio är
signifikant lägre än genomsnittet för den aktuella årskullen. Mer studier kommer att behövas för
att säkerställa reliabiliteten i undersökningsresultatet och framför allt för att kunna diskutera
lämpliga åtgärder för att hantera dessa resultat..
