A reform of higher education in Sweden in 1993 led to stiffer competitive climate among educational institutions. The reform meant that educational institutions now had the opportunity to plan their curriculum autonomously. Prior to the reform educational planning was restricted to the Swedish government. The new rules spelled a greater opportunity for educational institutions to profile themselves based on their educational offerings. The higher degree of competition means that marketing becomes increasingly important when recruiting new Students.

The aim of the study is to investigate reasoning about variation in learning, made by Waldorf, Freinet- and Bifrost pedagogues. The focal points are how the pedagogues reason about variation in learning and why they want to use variation. It is a qualitative study, and it is done through interviews with one Waldorf pedagogue, one Freinet pedagogue and one Bifrost pedagogue. The conversation with each pedagogue is complemented by literature that describes and discusses each pedagogue?s specific teaching method. The results of the study are linked to different theories and reasoning by scientists and professors.

The purpose of this essay is to examine Egyptian university Students´attitudes about the Egyptian education system´s ability to support a democratic process in Egypt. In order to carry out my study, scientific books and articles have been read and interviews have been made among Egyptian university Students. The interviews contained questions about the Egyptian education system´s impact on the democratic process in Egypt and which impact the Egyptian education system has had on the Egyptian revolution.The conclusion drawn from my study is that Egyptian university Students find the contemporary Egyptian education system based on authoritarian rules and with a lack of democratic values. The Egyptian university Students believe that to establish democratic institutions in Egypt, the Egyptian citizens need a better understanding about democratic values. However, some of the Students believe that the democracy that should be established in Egypt, must be based on Islamic values and to succeed with that, Islamic studies must play a greater part in the Egyptian education.When it comes to the Egyptian education system´s impact on the Egyptian revolution the Egyptian university Students´opinions were somehow divided. .

AbstraktSyftet med studien har varit att undersöka vad eleverna har lärt sig om kost och hälsa på högstadiet inom ämnena idrott och hälsa samt hem och konsumentkunskap. Undersökningen gjordes med hjälp av enkäter som omfattade totalt 55 elever. Under min utbildning till lärare inom idrott och hälsa samt hem och konsumentkunskap har jag sett att övervikt och ohälsa blir ett allt större problem bland våra ungdomar. Som i sin tur kan leda till dålig självkänsla, utanförskap och en dålig hälsa hos eleverna. Resultatet visade att uppfattningen om den egna kunskapen och den verkliga kunskapen om kost och hälsa var bra hos majoriteten av eleverna.

This essay examines what some of the Swedish authorities? argument are for vegetation, what their grounds are for the arguments and why vegetation is important for the human health and experience. I have examined publications and reports from 6 different authorities on state- , regional and communal level. The authorities which publications I have studied are Boverket, Naturvårdsverket, Folkhälsoinstitutet, Miljödepartementet, Länsstyrelsen Skåne och Malmö Kommun. The publications has been analyzed by different themes; Children and young peoples influence of vegetation, Elderly and sick?s influence of vegetation, Human health, wellbeing and experience of vegetation, Vegetation at work, The influence of vegetation on stress and The effect of vegetation in the city.

Handledning av sjuksköterskestuderande är ett område som berör alla kliniskt arbetande sjuksköterskor. Det är ett område som tidigare mest varit en självklar del av sjuksköterskans arbetsuppgifter, men som inte varit direkt synligt. Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka vilka förutsättningar sjuksköterskor upplever att de behöver för att handleda Studenter vid verksamhetsförlagd utbildning (VFU).Metoden bygger på en systematisk litteraturstudie med 11 vetenskapliga artiklar som kritiskt granskats och analyserats.Studien identifierade tre huvudkategorier som var förutsättningar för sjuksköterskor vid handledning av Studenter. Dessa handlar om:samverkankunskap och kompetensorganisatoriska förutsättningar och resursbehovTill dessa kategorier framkommer ett antal subkategorier som handlar om att det krävs samverkan mellan universitet, VFU-plats, handledare och Student. Utbildning och förberedelse av handledare är nödvändigt för att öka kunskapen om metoder vid handledning.

Background: This paper was performed by a Student in the Public Health Sciences program at the University of Gothenburg as a mandate from the district administration (SDF) Askim-Frölunda-Högsbo in Gothenburg. The assignment was formed on the basis of a need for a new service with a family-centered approach in the form of a family center for families with children aged 6-12 years. The family center will be located in the Frölunda area.Aim: The purpose of this paper was to describe and deepen the understanding of the concept of a family center from a public health perspective. A particular focus was put on interventions that are aimed at children aged 6-12 years.Method: Walker and Avants (2011) model for concept analysisResults: The defined attributes that the analysis led to were the following: Collaboration, Health Promotion, Prevention and Support services and the Visitors. The created model case and the borderline cases showed a clearer picture of the concepts meaning.

The purpose of this study is to examine the information seeking behaviour among unestablished archaeologists. Special attention has been directed to the areas of informal communication and the development of personal networks. As a former archaeology Student I have been able to apply my previously acquired knowledge when writing this thesis. The empirical study is based on nine interviews with archaeologists each with more than one and less than four years of professional experience. They all have various experience of working as a fieldarchaeologist and five have simultaneously worked as university researchers.

ABSTRACTThe purpose of the study was to examine, from the point of view of former research findings, what impact physical activity had on learning. I chose to make an explorative/inductive research, to get as much knowledge as possible from the studied presentation of problem, not to limit myself to a specific research theory. The result proved, that school personal and Student experienced many positive effects from daily physical activities. The pupils were more pleased. There was more piece and quiet in the classroom.

With many different elective courses to choose between, a lot of Students  experience anxiety over deciding which courses to study next semester. The  choice of a specific course can have a big impact on the Students future studies  and/or employment. Therefore the anxiety is justified. At the same time the  number of Students applying for a course often vary from year to year. This  creates issues for the responsible teachers because of the ever-changing  resource requirements.There are several different theories on decision making, addressing the  different time related states as well as the different habitual styles.

The aim of this thesis is to examine how secondary teachers in the subject of history are using the textbook in their teaching. Four questions are being dealt with in this thesis. What importance is being placed on the use of history textbooks by the secondary teachers? What priorities do the secondary teachers have? How do they deal with Student interests? And what is the importance of the secondary teachers? work experience? I have interviewed four secondary teachers with different work experience to complete this thesis. A Dictaphone has been used in all the interviews. Research has shown that textbooks now have a central role in teaching and the lack of alternative materials and reduction of teaching hours has made it difficult to replace. The main conclusions of the thesis are that the history textbook has a dual role depending on the teacher you ask, and that the history book is used differently by the teachers.

For many years, I have tried to understand why Students end up in difficulties in mathematics. As a future teacher, it is extremely important to have knowledge of the various factors that leads to difficulties in mathematics. As a teacher it is obvious to meet the Students who find mathematics a difficult subject, and, therefore it is necessary to have a broader knowledge of how to respond and support these Students. According to Ahlberg, number of Students with mathematics difficulties is increasing every year, therefore, it is important to help Students and organize a supporting school environment that promotes and encourages learning (Ahlberg 2001, p. 104-105).

The aim of the study is to investigate attitudes about rapists and to determine whether it is felt that they need treatment, imprisonment or a combination of the two. The study examines differences in attitudes between two different educational groups. The first group of Students is comprised of those studying on programs that lead to careers working with people, whilst the other contains Students who will work in business administration. The investigation also includes views on which punishment alternative the informants believed to be the most appropriate. The same differences are also investigated between gender and age.

The aim of this study was to analyze the assessment of the primary school, from the teacher?s perspective. There has been an ongoing discussion regarding assessment and about the purposes of assessment for a long time. But there is a paucity of research on what teachers believe about. This study examined primary teachers? beliefs on major purposes of assessment.Assessment is the process of gathering and interpreting information about Students? learning.
