Discussing light and lighting in the night-time environment of Tensta, a Stockholm suburb built between 1962 and 1970, this thesis suggests that lighting should be designed for the outdoor environment as a whole. The feeling of safety and human perception are important components in this thesis.
Starting with some comments on visual perception and how we adapt our sight to an interval of the visual input we get, makes it possible to understand that more light sometimes hides, rather than reveals, things. Amongst the dispersed houses, in the green parks of Tensta, this turns the pedestrian roads, lit by pole-top-mounted fixtures, into light tunnels in a dark surrounding.

This study contains how pre-school teachers talk about their mission as tutors and their assignments to educate student teachers in relation to the document that contains information concerning practice-based learning. The students are involved in communities of practice regarding pre-schools for children between one year and five years old. The pre-school teachers will share their daily work and pedagogical responsibility in the activities, meaning that the students are expected to show social engagement in interaction between children and adults. When teachers from the University visit the pre-school, the students are supposed to have a lesson or activity with the pupils in the practice class. And afterwards the students, the pre-school teachers and the teacher from University together have a developing discuss about the outcome objectives that the students are supposed to reach during the practice.
Dömd eller bedömd? : en studie om bedömning av de nationella proven ur ett lärarperspektiv
The aim of this study was to analyze the assessment of the national tests seen from the teacher?s perspective. The national tests are performed in the Swedish school, classes 3, 5, 9, and the upper secondary school (gymnasiet). There has been an ongoing discussion regarding assessment and grading for a long time and it is of high interest now more than ever. The last control assessment done in 2009 by the department of school inspections on the order of the Swedish government, showed big differences between the assessments done by the teachers, and the assessments completed by the department of school inspections.
Flickors och pojkars användning av adjektiv i berättande texter utifrån ett genusperspektiv.
The purpose of this study was to examine six girls and boys in grade 4 use of adjectives in narrative texts and examine students' perception and experience of writing from a gender perspective. The methods used were text analysis and an interview. The results showed that girls write more adjectives than boys, but no further significant difference in their use of adjectives was found. There was a certain stereotypical difference in which adjectives they wrote and their attitudes toward writing. Girls are more positive to writing and see writing primarily important for school, while boys think writing is important to succeed in life..

Detta examensarbete undersöker hur studenter kan förbättra sina studievanor med hjälp av lifetracking viamobila applikationer. Lifetracking-applikationen som nyttjas i denna undersökning heter Lift1. Det visarsig att det är en fördel om motivationen till förändring kommer från personen själv och att denne har ettintresse och nyfikenhet för nya tekniker. Då ökar chansen att Lift fungerar som hjälpmedel. Om enstudent väljer att använda sig av Lift bör denne välja vanor som har ett högt värde för personen och somgår att upprepa under en längre period för att ha större chans till förändring..

This is a survey of different techniques that may be used for embedding geographicdata into web pages. Different models of GIS communication are examined and a testsubject in the form of an application is implemented and evaluated.The test application (?StudentKarta? eng. ?Student Map?) lets students submit theirresidential data and shows their position as pins on an embedded Map.An expire date is used to let the pins fade away and disappear.The application uses the popular Google map engines to display the geographicalpresentations.

With this paper the aim is to find out whether there are any differences in how five students from the north part of Africa structures their tales in comparison with the Nordic tale "The emperor?s new clothes". The purpose is to look at how the genre pedagogy can be said to relate to these differences. What happens to the "deviant" structures?Based on literature and research on the subject, I have concluded that there are certain patterns of how a tale "should" be structured based on Western standards.

The purpose of this thesis was to increase the understanding and discuss safety aspects in two stairwells on Nyforsgatan in Eskilstuna, where the buildings were built during the years 1965-1975. I have presented a proposal for improvement through lighting. I have through different methods, such as surveys, interviews, literature studies and observations, come to a conclusion: that there are opportunities for improvement through better lighting that allows orientation in space and creates a nice atmosphere which will remove the feeling of not being safe, e.g. dark corners and shadows. It has been an exciting process to gather enough of facts to rely on and to develop the lighting design for the environments.

The level of increased central government that we have experienced during the last decades in school, for the purpose of increasing equality and to adapt the Swedish school to a certain international standard, clearly shows that increased control scarcely leads to improvement.The aim of this paper is to examine whether teachers believe that national tests contribute to equivalent assessment and increased goal attainment. Furthermore the teachers? attitude towards and work with national tests is described. The paper is written from a school improvement perspective, where good examples from current research on what creates increased quality in school meaning increased goal attainment and equivalent assessment are related to research on school effectiveness and increased testing in schools. The study builds upon a quantitative survey among teachers in upper primary - and secondary school in a medium-sized municipality in Sweden.The result shows that the teachers have a somewhat more positive than negative attitude towards national tests, as a whole.

Purpose: The purpose with this paper is to get a deeper understanding for prizes and awards as a marketing tool and phenomena. Further we want companies/organizations that use this should be able to make better decisions concerning marketing towards students. Maybe they will get better results on the basis of our investigations. Method: We used the qualitative method when we did the interview that was also non-standardized. The survey was quantitative, and the case study comprises both qualitative and quantitative method.
Användandet av landskapsanalyser i kommunala planeringsinsatser för vindkraft : en studie av planeringsstödet för vindkraft 2007-2010 med utgångspunkt i den europeiska landskapskonventionen
I januari 2011 ratificerade Sverige den europeiska landskapskonventionen och förband sig
därigenom att med sitt rättssystem och sin administration leva upp till dess värden. Konventionen
trädde i kraft den 1:a maj 2011 i Sverige. Vissa av konventionens nyckelmeningar
berör landskapsanalysen som verktyg och manar samtidigt till en beskrivning som grundar
sig i allmänhetens perception av landskapen.
Föreliggande rapport är uppdelad i en kvantitativ och en kvalitativ studie. I den kvantitativa
studien har 348 planeringsunderlag från 176 av Sveriges 290 kommuner och 13 av Sveriges
21 länsstyrelser genomsökts efter sökord. Dessa sökord har valts ut för att representera de
aspekter av den europeiska landskapskonventionen som jag menar är av stor vikt vid uppförandet
av landskapsanalyser.

Sammanfattning och förord Studien fokuserar på lärarstudenters syn på fritidspedagogens roll för fostran av barn på fritidshem. Den franske sociologen Bourdieu och hans tankar om socialisation är studiens huvudsakliga teoretiska perspektiv. Bourdieu talar om fält, kapital, praktiskt sinne och habitus. I min studie jämför jag Bourdiues tankar med några pedagoger såsom Dewey och Säljö vilkas arbete är mer sociokulturell inriktat. För att tydliggöra hur fostran av barn på fritidshem sker har jag intervjuat tio blivande lärarstudenter vilka studerar med inriktning mot fritidshemmets pedagogik.
J K Rowling och fantasygenren : En genreteoretisk studie av Harry Potter
This paper attempts to display how five teachers of social studies use and relate to the policy documents and their instructions on gender. To penetrate the subject, five teachers were intreviewed. Each interview focused on how the curriculum attempts to guide teachers regarding gender, sex differences and equality of opportunity. The collected information was processed, analyzed and discussed using gender studies and discourse theory.The results show that the interpretation and usage of the curriculum is very subjective and varies greatly between all the interviewed teachers. Their personal interpretation proves to be crucial when it comes to making reality of the stated goals in the curriculum, concerning actively working towards equality of opportunity between sexes.
FMT ? en plats i skolan! : för lättare läs- och skrivinlärning
I detta examensarbete beskriver jag FMT-metoden, Funktionsinriktad MusikTerapi. Mitt syfte har varit att ta reda på hur FMT kan stödja elever med läs- och skrivsvårigheter i skolan. Jag beskriver i två fallbeskrivningar hur jag har arbetat med FMT med två elever som har läs- och skrivsvårigheter. Min slutsats är att FMT har en plats i grundskolan. Med FMT som resurs, skulle fler elever kunna fångas upp och få stöd med läs- och skrivinlärning. Fler elever skulle kunna ta till sig skolans undervisning och därigenom klara skolans mål. .
Färgen och landskapsarkitekturen : färgsättningens betydelse för den gestaltande landskapsarkitekten
I gained my interest for color during my years at the landscape architect program. I felt that you as a student in design courses constantly were faced with the problems of coloration. A subject that I perceived to be difficult, especially for us students that lacked the experiences from how a project on the drawing board turns out when it finally is built. As a professional landscape architect you there have a greater experience but I wondered how much awareness about color you actually have as a professional. How does one think about coloration and how can you use color as a formative tool? And how does color truly affect us humans? Does color have significance for the experience of landscape architecture?
The object with this project is to illustrate color and it?s place in landscape architecture.
