This master?s paper first presents some of the principal theories and concepts developed by the poverty researchers Rowntree, Titmuss, Townsend, Sen and Lister. These theoretical frameworks are then related to two documents from the EU and Sweden concerning combating poverty and social exclusion, bearing on the establishment of the ?Year 2010 against Poverty?. Finally, I discuss the value in practice of these theories and policy documents, as regards reducing poverty in Europe.It has become clear in this investigation that the theories and concepts from earlier research are still relevant to the formulation of contemporary policy programmes, and that earlier research helps us to avoid old traps in fighting poverty.

The purpose of this qualitative study is to investigate how some teachers make use of the results of the national tests in mathematics to plan their teaching. The questions are how they plan their teaching in mathematics and if they use the results of the national tests to compare with their own teaching.   Five teachers in mathematics has been interviewed. I have used unstructured interviews with open-ended questions, and I have been able to ask follow-up questions based on their answers. The analysis of the survey is made from a systems theory approach.  The result of the survey shows that teachers make use of student performance to look at their own teaching of the current group of students. However, there is not enough time to rehearse and repair the deficiencies discovered in the national tests, which for some is perceived as a stress factor.

This essay deals with the influence of leadership on student use of Smart phones as an ICT tool at after school care. I use a qualitative, hermeneutical method that departs from two stories. I also use qualitative interviews with both structured and unstructured questions. My reflections and interpretations are, through the interviews, complemented by my colleagues? views of the use of Smart phones and how that is affected by how the activities are managed.

A systematic quality work is essential for anyone working in preschool, school,kindergarten and adult education to give children and students an equal education.Skollagen (2010:800) indicates that quality work should be focused on the nationalgoals of education. According to Skolverkets allmänna råd med kommentarer omsystematiskt kvalitetsarbete - för skolväsendet (2012) is the work to develop quality acontinuous process. Everyone's involvement and participation is therefore essential.Systematic quality work means to systematically and continuously monitor theactivities, analyze performance against national targets and based on that plan anddevelop. Although the work has been driven outside governmental policy documentssince 1997 shows, among others, Skolinspektionens audits of municipalities andschools that there is major deficiencies in the obligation to conduct a systematicquality work. It appears that more than half of the surveyed schools had deficienciesin its system quality work.This is the starting position this study takes on to and through literature review,document studies and interviews of principals is the subject problematized.

Title: Creating meetings - a study in interactionism and creating music. In this study I had my focus on teenagers in a school class. My aim was to explore how pupils experience the processes of creating music together and how they choose to organize their interactions during these creative processes. As analytical tools I used sociological and sociopedagogical concepts and theories. Interactionism provided models toward individualization as well as socialization, related to learning, knowledge and creativity.

The purpose of this study was to examine if there were anychanges in quality in the voices of speech and language pathology studentsafter four years of study at the University of Gothenburg. Recordings oftwenty student voices from the first and eight semesters were evaluatedperceptually by six speech-language pathologists. The parameters judgedwere: vocal fry, glottal attacks, strain, breathiness and resonant voice, usinga scale from 0 to 10. Acoustical measures were made of F0 mean andmedian to detect possible differences between the two recordings. Theresults show a significant decrease in vocal fry, glottal attacks and strain aswell as an increase in resonant voice and a significant decrease in F0 meanand median.

Avsikten med uppsatsen var även att undersöka hur kundrelationer och kundinvolverad produktutveckling kan användas för att skapa konkurrensfördelar inom Business-to-Business. Almedahls var även intresserade av att närmare undersöka möjligheterna för digitaltryck, vilket är en ny tryckprocess för företaget.Vi gjorde därför en fallstudie på Almedahls, ett tillverkande företag inom textilbranschen.

Examensarbetets syfte är att studera hur nyexaminerade grundskole- och gymnasielärareupplever sig ha beredskap för sitt kommande yrkesliv.Studien har genomförts med fem semistrukturerade intervjuer. Det empiriska materialet haranalyserats utifrån en fenomenografisk ansats där vi har försökt finna likheter och avvikelseride intervjuades uppfattning angående sin beredskap. Vi har även undersökt likheter ochskillnader mellan de intervjuades uppfattningar och de komplexa problem somlitteraturstudien belyser.Samtliga intervjuade lärare uttrycker att de inte kände sig förberedda för yrkesrollen. Definner en trygghet i sina ämneskunskaper de fått från utbildningen men saknar beredskap förexempelvis konflikthantering och dokumentation. Det finns likheter i de intervjuadesuppfattningar kring vilka saker som var mest komplexa.

Because social media is personal and reaches users directly, it has become an important means of communication for companies trying to reach out to their audience (Nygren & Wadbring, 2013). Especially the possibility of interactivity has been discussed as social media's big advantage. But how much two-way communication is actually possible on social media? This is a quantitative study that focuses on how Swedish Facebook users in the ages of 16-25 interact with companies on the social network. The aim was to contribute with increased information and knowledge about how the users mentioned above interact with the companies as well as how the users perceive the companies communication and presence on Facebook.

Since the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) was adopted in 1979 there has been evident progress in the area of women's rights in great parts of the world, although this progress is still foremost concentrated to the Westernhemisphere. In Argentina, the work with gender equality and women's rights set of strongly during the last decade. The country has ratified the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women and the Inter-American Convention on the Prevention, Punishmentand Eradication of Violence against Women "Convention of Belem Do Para" but still women and girls are victims of structural discrimination and serious impunity of their rights on a daily basis.The current situation proves that the positive changes within the context of international and national law do not necessary reach out to the population to the same extent. In the light of the lacking popular involvement and knowledge of their rights, a different type of solution is desirable. Therefore it would be of interest to examinate the role of Non Governmental Organisations (NGO:s) when it comes to implementing human rights in the society and ?the every day life?.

Syftet med denna studie var att analysera skriftligt arbetsmaterial och offentliga informationsdokument som ligger till grund för förändringsarbete för ett ökat brukarinflytande gällande sociala omsorgsinsatser och servicetjänster i ordinärt boende, det vill säga det egna hemmet. Vi valde att studera Örebro kommun och detta genom en kvalitativ metod i form av en litteraturgranskning. Vårt teoretiska fundament har bestått av socialtjänstlagen, Lag om kommunal befogenhet att tillhandahålla servicetjänster åt äldre, Lag om valfrihetssystem, salutogent synsätt, Kasam och empowerment. Vårt resultat visar att Örebro kommun har infört fyra medel för ett ökat brukarinflytande. Dessa är: förändrad biståndshandläggning, Lag om kommunal befogenhet att tillhandahålla servicetjänster åt äldre, Servicetorget med lotsarna samt Lag om valfrihetssystem.

I detta arbete har det undersökts om ett brädspel kan vara ett bra komplement till den övriga undervisningen för sjöingenjörsprogrammet på Kalmar Sjöfartshögskola. Ett brädspel har producerats och utvärderats av studenter.Tanken med detta arbete har varit att ge studenter en alternativ studieteknik. Denna studieteknik har ingen koppling till undervisningen på skolan. Med spelets hjälp har det kunnat undersökas vad studenter anser om att använda sig av ett spel för att lära sig delar av olika ämnen i utbildningen.För att söka svar på vår problemställning så har en kvalitativ studie gjorts. Vi har induktivt utgått ifrån empirin med en pragmatisk inriktning.

The aim of the study was to examine the knowledge that school counsellors in Swedish schools have about young women with anxiety disorders. The study also examines how the counsellors act when there is a suspicion or a case of anxiety in a female student. With a qualitative approach eight school counsellors were interviewed. The theoretical approach that was used is the sociology of knowledge. Some of the study?s conclusions are that anxiety disorders are frequent among young girls.

For a company to be able to deliver, it has to understand what the future clients want and need.
