The purpose of this essay is to explore how I can meet children with different kinds of attention deficit disorders. What can I do when the child kicks me and makes me cry? How can I handle it right so that the child and I can feel good? In my text I am writing about how I can prioritize my way when I am angry. I wonder how to prioritize my feelings and feel safe with the other person. I am developing these questions in my text.

This paper presents a study of educational materials used in Swedish language education. The aim of the study is to understand in which way multimodal resources can be used in texts, to benefit in the process of meaning making among pupils in the nine-year compulsory school. The theoretical framework used as a basis for understanding and analysing these educational materials is the social semiotic multimodal perspective and the design theoretical multimodal perspective. The study is a multimodal text analysis but it also involves analyses of the syllabi connected to the subject of Swedish language education. The extended concept of text was introduced in the year of 2000 in the syllabus and today multimodal texts are supposed to be part of the Swedish language education.

The purpose of this investigation is to examine the extent to which Swedish compulsory school tends to rely upon, and to further reinforce, ideologies that from a theoretical platform of deep ecology can be identified as ?ecologically unsustainable conceptions of reality?. Mainly, this will purport to an examination of the (explicit as well as implicit) prevalence of anthropocenthrism, individualism, ethnocenthrism and rationalism in a) the Swedish National Curriculum; and in b) biology text books. Methodologically, the study makes use of Fairclough´s approach to, and method for, critical discourse analysis (CDA). The main results are that the National Curriculum indeed expresses a high level of individualism, as well as (although to a lesser extent) traces of rationalism and ethnocenthrism.

Syftet med denna undersökning var att se om hur viktiga adjektiven är för att elevers texter ska kunna anses som goda i bemärkelsen beskrivande och berörande. För att söka svar på frågan samlades tjugo autentiska elevtexter från högstadiet in, för att analyseras i hur mängden adjektiv kunde kopplas till att göra en text beskrivande och berörande. Adjektiven granskades i sitt sammanhang, i den mening de funnits i texten, för att se till helhetsintrycket. För att analysen skulle kunna genomföras valdes relevant litteratur till ämnet ut. Väsentliga begrepps befintlighet i elevtexterna som stilvärde, ordförråd, stilfigurer, betydelseomfång, intensionsdjup och ord för att skapa stämning har undersökts i analysen.

This report describes the creation of an interactive text system for storing, retrieval and publishing of texts, ITS.My task was to create a GUI together with a database capable of handling text, commenting of texts, references between texts, and the capability to associate images with texts.After enough texts have been inserted into the database, there shall be an ability to generate a report out of them.The report describes the methods used when the GUI was implemented, how the database was modelled and implemented, and how the security aspects where solved.The entire project is created with the help of Java, MySQL server, Connector/J and OpenSSL.Furthermore the functions of the GUI and the future of ITS is described..

This study is about language use in text messaging. In this study there are 338 text messages: 206 of them written by girls and 132 written by boys. The informants in the study are 16 years old and they live in the countryside on the outskirts of a small town in southern Sweden. The purpose of this study was to investigate characteristic linguistic features in the messages, in order to determine what significant meaning an emoticon such as a smiley brings to a text and further, to explore what speech acts smileys occur in.The results show that the language in the messages is a mix of spoken and written language. The characteristic features that were found in the messages were short sentences, onomatopoetic expressions, words written in capital letters, English expressions and use of smileys.

Detta examensarbete syftar till att undersöka vilka strategier elever använder sig av vid text-, hör- och ordförståelse i franska. Jag har genom undervisningsförsök och elevenkäter undersökt vilka strategier elever i en niondeklass har när de arbetar med ovanstående moment där uppgifterna är hämtade utanför den ordinarie läroboken. Jag har därutöver intervjuat lärare på den skola jag gjort mina undervisningsförsök för att se om de ger eleverna strategier för arbete kring text-, hör- och ordförståelse. Projektet STRIMS och Tornbergs forskningsresultat har givit mig inspiration till arbetet. Eleverna använde sig huvudsakligen av framgångsrika strategier när de tog sig an de olika uppgifterna.

This thesis work resulted in a template for how the thermal spray process can be controlled through robot programs. The robots today and their programs need to be replaced, therefore a new structure which can be matched with the new robot systems is needed. The work is limited to only concern structured programming on the new robots on Thermal Spray Centre (TC) with the programming language Rapid. The basic data for the program was retrieved from interviews with concerned personnel at TC, from studies on process parameters for thermal spray and from existing specifications at Volvo Aero Corporation (VAC). The thesis work briefly describes the process thermal spray and the four methods used at VAC.

The purpose of this research is to study the new curriculum in the topic of modern languages in the upper secondary school, and compare the curriculum from year 2011 with the one from year 2000 and thus try to find differences in the content and wordng. The research also aims to investigate teachers' interpretations and understanding of the new curriculum. The study is divided into two sub?studies and those are based on the two methods of text analysis and interview. Text analysis of policy documents is made parallell with some aspects found in the background materials of the upper secondaryschool reform, which can be summarized as precision and globalization.

The aim of this text is to study how sectional managers in the care of the elderly work so as to promote basic human values. Semi-structured interviews generated qualitative data from five sectional managers. A hermeneutical approach was applied for interpreting the interviews. The result shows that the respondents are conscious of the fact that it takes a lot of long term work before a change in current procedures will happen. Also, the common everyday principles of work and basic values will continue to be part of the care of the elderly.

Syftet med denna undersökning är att ta reda på huruvida generaliseringar om kön påverkar uppfattningen om texter. 1979 gjordes en undersökning som visade att en och samma text blev mottagen på olika sätt beroende på vem som sades vara textens källa. Genom att upprepa 1979 års undersökning ämnar denna uppsats att ta reda på om det har skett någon förändring gällande generaliseringarna sedan dess, samt att vidare diskutera orsaker samt eventuella risker med detta. Undersökningen 2008 kan konstatera försämrade eller oförändrade resultat för den kvinnliga källan gällande samtliga egenskaper, medan den kan påvisa förbättringar för den manliga. Purpose/aim: The purpose of this thesis is to examine if, and in that case how, the municipality of Umeå worked strategically with its communication during 2014 when Umeå was chosen as ?European Capital of Culture?. The research is mainly focused on the outlines of their communication plan, main goals, what  communication strategies the municipality has chosen to and their choice of media channels.Material/method: Two methods are used for this research; qualitative interviews with four employees within the communication team during Umeå2014 and a text analysis of three formal documents which provide the framework of communication policies and media strategies during Umeå2014.Results: The results clearly indicate a well structured, strategic planning outlined in the formal documents. We have decided to conduct a case study of German and Swedish mid-level managers within the automobile industry. Primarily we used a qualitative method of investigation and a phenomenographical methodological approach in order to conduct an in depth analysis. We conducted semi-structured interviews with six mid-level managers each in Germany and Sweden. The semi-structured interviews allowed us to conduct flexible interviews which enabled these managers to speak relatively freely about their own view of leadership. Throughout our investigation we have based our results on the empirical findings and at the same time sought explanations to different phenomenon in relevant secondary data, such as management literature, thus used the abductive method of investigation..
