I avsaknad av ett existentiellt hot påbörjades efter kalla krigets slut en transformation av de europeiska försvarsmakterna. Den europeiska integrationen skulle öka staternas säkerhet varpå försvarbudgetarna sakta krympte samtidigt som EU:s fria rörligheter även förenklade rörligheten av skadliga och oönskade element. Kombinationen av bristande ekonomi och en utökad hotbild krävde flexibla och kostnadseffektiva förband. Försvarmakten deklarerade under perioden "strategisk timeout" där den strategiska försvarsplanering reducerades till ett minimum i syfte att istället identifiera Försvarsmaktens framtida förmågor samt vilka förband som skulle bistå med förmågorna. Den ursprungliga ambitionen reducerades kraf-tigt av krympande försvarsanslag och stor påverkan av regional- och industripolitik.

This study examines how management consulting firms work with business- and functional strategy and how these strategies are interrelated. More specifically we focus on business strategy (business unit level) and knowledge strategy (functional level) and whether these are aligned or not, i.e. whether strategic congruence exists.A number of recent studies have examined the importance of business strategy and knowledge strategy in management consulting firms separately, but few have pointed out the importance of the alignment between them. With this study we contribute to the strategic field of research with a model that describes how management consulting firms should work with their knowledge strategy given their business strategy. The model is developed through a synthesis between theories in the field of strategic congruence, business- and functional strategies and thereafter tested by an empirical case study of six management consulting firms.

This thesis processes the work of developing CPU code and GPU code for Thomas Kaijsers algorithm for calculating the kantorovich distance and the performance between the two is compared. Initially there is a rundown of the algorithm which calculates the kantorovich distance between two images. Thereafter we go through the CPU implementation followed by GPGPU written in CUDA. Then the results are presented. Lastly, an analysis about the results and a discussion with possible improvements is presented for possible future applications..

The Swedish healthcare system is characterized by lack of resources and extensive hospital queues. In order to counter these difficulties the Lund University Hospital have introduced Lean Healthcare to the hospital organization. The purpose of this scientific paper is to study the relationship between the implementation of Lean Healthcare and the experienced motivation among the staff. This essay thereby intends to impart knowledge, which could be used on future implementations of Lean Healthcare at other hospitals. In order to fulfil the purpose of this essay a case study have been conducted at two wards at the Lund University Hospital in which qualitative research interviews have been the method chosen in order to gather data.

Studien har genom kvalitativ metod med fallstudiedesign studerat fyra stora företag med hjälp av semistrukturerade intervjuer. TeoriEn genomgång av Lean-konceptet görs för att skapa förståelse för styrverktyget sedan fördjupar vi oss på den strategiska delen av Lean för att kartlägga de olika beståndsdelarna som kan överbrygga gapet. BidragGapet framträder inte lika tydligt i vår studie, fallföretagen har i sitt tankesätt störst fokus på den strategiska delen av Lean. Kultur och ledarskap är huvudbeståndsdelar i jobbet med att överbrygga gapet där den strategiska delen ämnar skapa positiv energi hos medarbetarna.

Samarbetet inom NORDEFCO har blivit mer fragmenterat vilket innebär att bilaterala överenskommelser är vanliga. När det bilaterala samarbetet med Norge har försvårats av avbrutna materielprojekt så har det uttalats en stark politisk vilja att bilateralt fördjupa samarbetet med Finland. Drivkrafterna för samarbete har historiskt sett främst varit ekonomiska men även för att undvika kritisk massa i den egna organisationen. Uppsatsen undersöker, med hjälp av Tomas Valaseks framgångsfaktorer, förutsättningarna för fördjupat samarbete på strategisk nivå. Framgångsfaktorerna knyts till krigföringsförmåga på taktisk- och funktionsnivå och kan på så sätt undersöka om samarbetet mellan Sverige och Finland kan nyttjas för att undvika kritisk massa inom den belysta fältarbetsfunktionen.

This report is the result of a master thesis at Linköping University - Institute of Technology and Uppsala University at the request of the chassi workshop at Scania CV AB in Södertälje. Since the beginning of the 90's, Scania CV AB has had a close cooperation with Toyota from which, among other things, the Scania Production System (SPS) has evolved. SPS explains Scanias' values, principles and priorities. The Technician department (MST) at Scania Chassi in Södertälje believes that SPS can streamline the technicians work and help them become a more homogeneous group. The purpose of this master thesis is to initiate an implementation of SPS within MST through two pilot projects involving both the product and process technicians. The SPS principle Normal Situation - Standardised working method was required to be implemented within one work task each for the two groups of technicians with special attention on the three subprinciples Standardisation, Takt and Balanced flow. The master thesis fulfilled its purpose as the two pilot projects initiated the implementation of SPS within MST and the three sub-principles Standardisation, Takt and Balanced flow were implemented within the two chosen work tasks.

In May 2010 the plans for Malmö?s new Concert Hall, Conference Centre and Hotel were announced publically. The purpose of this thesis was to present strategy for communication in order to gain approval for the new concert and conference center from the inhabitants inMalmö and to incorporate the use of it in their everyday life.Material from the receiver?s as well as the sender?s perspective has been collected from qualitative interviews. Through group interviews we have investigated the general consensus of the inhabitants of Malmö regarding the investment, placing, offered events, expectations as well as how they collected information.

The aim of this paper is to investigate how well information and communication technology (ICT) is implemented in the new teacher training program in the subject of Swedish and how this is presented in the applications for examination licence to the National Swedish Agency for Higher Education. This is an interesting field of study, since ICT has been selected, by an investigation chosen by the government to be one of four overall perspectives that are supposed to permeate the teacher training program. There have been several difficulties involved in this project of which one has been the extent of the material.  27 applications and all curriculums in the subject of Swedish belonging to them have been examined. Another difficulty was that the applications and the curriculums are written by different persons under different conditions such as time and resources.

I Sveriges storstadsregioner har behovet av mer strategiskt utformade planer växt fram under senare år. I korthet beror detta på kommunens begränsande möjligheter att påverka bebyggelseutvecklingen. Samtidigt har kommunerna fortfarande ett ansvar för att bebyggelseutvecklingen leds mot en social, ekonomisk och ekologisk hållbarhet. Behovet av att koncentrera de kommunala insatserna har då ökat. Kommunens roll blir att tillhandahålla hållbara rumsliga ramar där förändringar på kvartersnivå sker i privat regi. Syftet med mitt examensarbete har varit att utforma en strukturplan för Högsbo industriområde.
