Since the spring 2003 the tenant-owner home association the Terrace in Upplands Väsby municipality lies straight under the approach route to Arlanda Airport?s new third landing chute. Noise levels of over 70 dB have been measured in the area, which exceeds National Board of Housing?s, values for traffic noise at a terrace in connection to housing. Växjö is a medium-sized town situated in the centre of the county Småland in Sweden with a good infrastructure and logistics and with a university that encourages cooperation with private and public companies. It is in this town that our case study of Småland Airport will take place. The aim of this study is to examine in which way the program of Library and Information Science at the Linnaeus University in Växjö offers knowledge that can be relevant for the staff at the airport in Växjö - Småland Airport. Using Wilsons model as our theoretical framework we examine how these two align with each other and by using a matrix that we ourselves elaborated in our analysis, we provide a clear picture of how the comparability two places comparability is represented. The result shows that there are compatible aspects to the Småland Aiports needs and what the program of Library and Information Science has to offer.

In order to make take-off and landing procedures possible at an airport, an organized allo- cation of slots is necessary. How these slots shall be distributed among airlines is, at pre- sent, governed by the European Parliament and Council Regulation (EEC) No 95/93 of 18 Janu- ary 1993 on common rules for the allocation of slots at Community airports. It is important for the air- lines to be allocated a beneficial slot. Hence it is of great interest for the airlines to ex- change and transfer the allocated times among themselves, a form of secondary market. Whether such practices are allowed or not is not regulated by specific detail in the regula- tion, which leads to legal uncertainty.

Karlstad Airport invigdes 1997 och ligger belägen cirka 18 kilometer nordväst om Karlstads centrum. Flygplatsen drivs av det statligt ägda Luftfartsverket (LFV) som även ansvarar för flera av Sveriges övriga flygplatser. Utöver reguljärflyg till Stockholm, Köpenhamn samt Sundsvall, erbjuder flygplatsen även i snitt en charterresa per vecka. Charterresorna går till varierande destinationer runt om i Europa men flygplatsen erbjuder dessutom enstaka resor till Thailand.Som många andra svenska flygplatser känner Karlstad Airport av konkurrensen från andra transportmedel. På grund av detta problem vill LFV finna nya sätt att attrahera sina nuvarande samt potentiella kunder.

In today s society, services are becoming more and more important. They are however, partly because of their immaterial nature, separated from traditional merchandise, why the marketing and producing of them differs. Quality errors in a service are often difficult to discover before the service is brought to a customer, since the producing and consuming of it often takes place simultaneously. Quality errors in a service process are called service failures or in Swedish tjänstefel. Nevertheless, with an effective service recovery process, dissatisfied customers can be turned into satisfied ones.

För att Securitas AB skall kunna behålla sin position i Norrköping Flygplats är det viktigt att de effektiviserar sin bemanning och scheman. Detta krävs för att kunna uppnå kostnadsreduceringar som skall i sin tur ge dem konkurrensfördelar för att behålla sin position vid årliga upphandlingar som sker mellan kommun och flygplats. För att effektivisera sin bemanning och scheman skall teoretiska delar användas för att styra grupper och verksamheten bättre, teoretiska delarna är i form av schemaläggningsprinciper.Vid en effektivisering av verksamheten skall en optimeringsmodell användas med flera funktioner som möjliggör en heltäckande optimeringslösning för att generera den mest kostnadseffektivaste bemanningen för schemaläggningen. Ett tekniskt system som ett informationssystem skall även strukturera Securitas arbete effektivare med en bättre bokföring över de anställda samt underlätta tillämpningen av ett standardiserat arbetssätt. Vikten av ett standardiserat arbetssätt behandlas mycket inom LEAN-filosofin och anses viktig i detta fall för att få de teoretiska delarna och informationssystemet att fungera ihop.

Dagens storflygplatser liknar allt mer städer i miniatyr med än mer komplexa fysiska strukturer än tidigare och en mängd olika flöden och funktioner som inte alltid är kopplade till flygresandet i sig, vilket ställer krav på allt mer planering och samordning av flygplatsens olika delar. I detta examensarbete i fysisk planering på mastersnivå vid Blekinge Tekniska Högskola kommer undertecknad att studera tre nordiska storflygplatsers gestaltning, fysiska strukturer och hur dess olika flöden samordnas rumsligt. De flygplatser som har valts ut för studien är Gardemoen norr om Oslo, Arlanda norr om Stockholm samt Kastrup i sydöstra Köpenhamn. Tonvikten i arbetet kommer att läggas på terminalens utformning och gestaltning då denna har en central roll för flygplatsens primära funktion, att hjälpa människan flyga..

Initiativet till detta examensarbete kom från Arne Karyds kurs Transportekonomi och miljö där vi blev intresserade av att titta närmare på Stockholm ? Arlanda flygplats och dess miljökrav.Examensarbetets inriktning och mål är att undersöka hur järnvägen kan bidra till att Arlanda ska klara av sina miljökrav i framtiden. Just nu pekar prognoserna på att verksamheten på Arlanda kommer att kunna hålla sig under det koldioxidtak som sattes av miljödomstolen 1991 i omkring fem år till (runt år 2010) utan att behöva begränsa flygverksamheten.Syftet med examensarbetet är att undersöka hur mycket längre LFV eller Arlanda kan hålla sig under detta tak genom effektivare användning av tågtrafik på Arlandabanan och andra förbättringsåtgärder inom kollektivtrafiken, men utan att begränsa flygtrafiken. Idag utnyttjas Arlandabanan inte optimalt då staten lovade bort trafikeringsrättigheten på sträckan till de entreprenörer som hjälpte till att finansiera och bygga banan. Projektet var Sveriges första infrastrukturbygge där privata intressenter och staten hjälptes åt med finansieringen.
