Prisons are for many an unknown world, and few know about the prison culture which includes unwritten rules, power structures, interactions and relationships between inmates and correctional employees.While many think that Swedish prisons are too comfortable,inmates are facing extreme stress due to surveillance and detention, by depriving inmates their possibility to shape their own lives. When the inmates is deprived of control over their own life?s the penal system have great power to shape and to influence the inmates.The purpose of this paper is to investigate prisoners' experiences of treatment and exercise of power in prisons. Starting point is to examine what are the kinds of relationships between prison officers and inmates from a power perspective, if there is any difference between the closed and open prisons and how the inmates affected by the structures that exist.Based on my overall purpose, and with my informant´s stories which revealed a number of similar points, four main headings were developed; Mass media and society´s view, and unknown world, interaction between inmates and prison officers and consequences.Prison officers with the role as a contact persons as well and other staff which work close to the inmates play a significant role by supporting through motivational interviewing and can help the inmates to gain insight about their life situation and actions. My informant?s underlined that a good contact person can either help or discourage.Inmates who contributed with their experiences express that there is a big difference between open-and closed prisons.

Studiens främsta målsättning har varit att ta reda på om det förekommer aeroba mikroorganismer på handtagen på kundvagnar och kundkorgar som används i dagligvarubutiker. Förutom detta har undersökningen syftat till att finna svar på frågor som; om det förekommer aeroba mikroorganismer på handtagen vilka typer, familjer och arter tillhör de? Finns skillnader mellan antalet cfu (kolonier) på handtagen på vagnar och korgar? Finns skillnader mellan antalet cfu på handtagen från morgon till kväll samt finns skillnader mellan antalet cfu på handtagen på vagnar mestadels förvarade utomhus och mestadels inomhus? Hur ofta rengörs vagnarna och korgarna och erhålls någon skillnad i antalet cfu mellan en otvättad och en tvättad korg?Undersökningen har gjorts med hjälp av Hygicult TPC slides, vilka är avsedda för snabb kontroll av mikrobiologisk hygien på olika typer av material som ytor och fasta och flytande material. Agarfilmen på plattan är så kallad Total Plate Count Agar och den gynnar snabb tillväxt av de vanligaste förekommande bakterier, jäst- och mögelsvampar.På 103 av 104 tryckplattsidor, kunde tillväxt av mikroorganismer observeras efter inkubering i 32oC i två dygn. Detta visar på att det förekommer aeroba mikroorganismer på handtagen på kundvagnar och kundkorgar som används i dagligvarubutiker.

The purpose of our master?s thesis is to study the diversity discourse, used in Sweden, particularly the so-called ethnic diversity at the work place discourse.Our aims are to map and analyze the conceptualization of difference used in the diversity rhetoric. We intend to pursue our aim by studying the rhetoric of diversity, used for diversity promotion in the private and public sectors. Also, we will investigate into what conceptualizations of difference are used in the organizations in the name of ?diversity?.

Handling, loading, transport time and unloading in connection to transport of farm animals affect animal welfare. Induced effects include both psychological and physiological stress responses in animals. The physiological parameters may be measured through blood analysis while behavioural changes often manifest themselves through increased vocalisation, escape attempts and apathy. Physiological parameters are additional parameters of importance when measuring animal stress responses. The handlers behavior during transport has been shown to have major impact on animal welfare and the quality of meat. Animal friendly handling and driving of animals create a more manageable work environment for the handlers. To further increase animal welfare in connection to transport, stables should be built with well adapted drift passage and ramps on the transport vehicle.

The need for roundwood transport capacity vary throughout the year. The need during a period is influenced mainly by the volume transported the period, the number of days during which transport can be carried out, seasonal variations in road conditions and the weight of the roundwood, and the origin of the wood (private forest owners/ forest companies). The need for transport capacity generally increase during the winter and in spring, after thawing. Lack of logging trucks combined with a lack of drivers for these trucks make it hard to hire extra help during periods of increased transport capacity needs. It is also very expensive to keep logging trucks for use only during these periods. In this thesis, two new concepts based on the partial transport by truck tractors have been examined, to find out the possibility for increased performance and flexibility.

This thesis of 15 hp has been implemented at Halmstad University, incollaboration with Saab Dynamics in Linköping. Saab Dynamics is a companyoperating in the defence industry where competition is tough. This necessitatesnew ways to increase efficiency in the company, which is the basis for this thesis.Saab Dynamics wants to introduce simulation driven design. The company has a lot of press lines where the utilization is high and also has started to become old. Prognosis shows that there is an increased demand of heat exchanger in the future. This increased demand is not something that existing lines will manage. To build new lines cost a lot of money and take time so it is essential that new lines are correct from the start and not need to be rebuilt or a lot of time spent to trim it.GoalThe goal is to achieve 100% theoretical utilization of the press (the press shall press the amount of plates it is designed for).

The biogas plant Kungsängens gård, owned by Uppsala Vatten och Avfall AB, produces biogas and biomanure from organic household waste, food processing waste and slaughterhouse waste. In year 2012, 4.4 million Nm3 of biogas were produced from 25 200 tons of waste. Before digestion all substrate is sanitized by pasteurization at 70°C in order to kill pathogens. Another method, integrated thermophilic sanitation (ITS), is of interest in order to decrease the energy demand. The method implies that the substrate is sanitized during ten hours in the digestion chamber, where the temperature is 52°C.

Exempel kan vara en bro som skall bära en högre last eller en katedral som degraderats av tidens tand. Att bemöta de nya kraven kan göras på olika sätt.

Emhart Glass är ett världsledande företag som tillverkar och utvecklar utrustning för hela processkedjan inom glasförpackningsindustrin, från smältugnen till efterbehandling och kontroll av de färdiga produkterna. Glasförpackningarna är mycket heta när de är klara och hålls därför ovanför en perforerad platta, Dead Plate, för kylning innan de transporteras i en båge ut på transportbandet som skickar vidare förpackningarna mot efterbehandling, kontroll och paketering.
