In connection with the property crises in many countries, caused by the financial crises, people are now more aware of the risks involved in poor property-investments. The unusually cold winters along with extreme prices of electricity in Sweden in recent years has also contributed to increased interest in energy-efficient buildings.The process of developing a modern family home in Kiruna, Sweden is presented the first part of this paper. The house has been designed to withstand very high stresses from snow, low energy consumption as well as a high standard of living comfort. Aspects of the house covered here involves everything from construction, heating and ventilation to sanitation. Each of these areas is presented based on their underlying, scientific methods or theories.

This is the end report of my final exam at Medieteknik. It covers the planning, work process and review of a Flash based web application that I set out to do. The goal was to create a user friendly, interactive e-shop with embedded functionality for playing music, displaying rich media content and researching possible payment solutions, to enable buying music files online. The project involved creating the user interface, the programmatic functionality of a Flash client (an SWF file). Also, setting up an Apache HTTP Server and establishing a working ?bridge? between the Flash client and the web server with Flash Remoting components and AMFPHP.

This Master Thesis documents the development of an On Board Diagnosis (OBD-II) interface for remote diagnosis of vehicles. The Master Thesis is part of a project at the company Wayfinder Systems in Lund. The purpose of this thesis was to design a scantool that communicates with a vehicle through its OBD-II port using relevant standards. In order to make the OBD-II interface development easier, a car simulator was first built. Both the car simulator and the OBD-II interface were implemented using a linux computer running a C-program with serial communication with an external electrical interface.

In today?s society, it becomes more common with tablets, that makes us interact with computers in a whole new way. For example these are used to read and write e-mails, surf the web and playing games. Another manner of use of these tablets is to read and edit PDF documents. PDF handling is often meant to be used in books and inregular text documents, but it could also be used in the management of drawings.An industry that would benefit greatly from the use of tablets for this purpose is the con- struction industry.

Värdering av fastigheter och analyser av avkastningsfastigheter har en nära koppling. Både ekonomisk och teknisk information om fastigheterna ger underlag för värdering. Eftersom olika människor och företag har olika preferenser har de även också olika krav på fastigheters skick, standard och framför allt avkastning. Då det även finns oberoende värderingsföretag kan dessa ge en opartisk värdering som kan anses gälla generellt för samtliga intressenter. Hurdenna värdering går till kan vara intressant att undersöka då den sker utan några kopplingar till intressenternas syften med fastigheten.Då denna uppsats har en företagsekonomisk vinkling ligger fokus på just hurindustrifastigheter och kommersiella fastigheter värderas.

Den ökade förekomsten av etisk rapportering kan ses som en följd av samhällets ökade fokus på en hållbar utveckling. Det finns olika teorier om motiven bakom redovisning av etisk information, däribland 4N-typologin samt legitimitets- och intressentteorin. Dessa angreppssätt bygger på förekomsten av kommunikation mellan företaget och dess omvärld. Hur detta i realiteten sker behandlas av ytterligare en teori på området, Media Agenda Setting Theory. Våra företags sociala rapportering förefaller kunna förklaras med olika motiv ur 4N-typologin.

Syftet med undersökning är att studera på vilket sätt tillämpningen av ISO 9001 påverkar kundnöjdheten samt om det innebär, eller om det krävs mer, för att erhålla nöjda samt lojala kunder.Denna studie är utav kvalitativ karaktär och består av intervjuer. Intervjuobjekten var servicemarknadschefer samt kunder hos sex bilverkstäder i Stockholms län. Studien utgörs av en deduktiv ansats.Studiens empiri består av intervjuer med servicemarknadschefen samt fem kunder på respektive verkstad.Slutsatser som kan härledas ur undersökningen är att för att nå hög kundnöjdhet samt erhålla lojala kunder, bör ISO 9001 ses som en standard, vilken kräver utveckling samt anpassning utifrån företagets egen verklighet. Utöver detta är personlighet i form av ett genuint engagemang för den individuella kunden av stor betydelse..

In this paper I make an analysis of the play Järnbörd (By burning Iron) written by the swedish author Magnus Dahlström. In this play all the characters has committed horrible crimes wich they easily describes the violence. The starting-point of my analysis is the text itself and not any stage-setting. The reason for this is that I find it interesting to see what can be found in the text only. I investigate if the language itself can tell something.Furthermore I discuss Magnus Dahlström´s literary language and if he has any distinguishing quality, and if so what it may be.

This thesis deals with an iterative user-centered IT-development project in a bank setting. The aim is to present a solution for deployment of future Internet banking for small businesses. The project features a design of IT-related concepts and ideas with a strong emphasis on scenario-based design and the usage of patterns as a documentation tool.The project plan featured an iterative framework and was carried out by a group of designers in collaboration with a reference group representing the future users of the system. This group consisted of company managers and bank employees, all from the small town of Åtvidaberg in Sweden.The method used in the development process was Scrum. A total of three sprints were completed with user meetings at the end of every sprint.

Rapporten är sammanställda studier av hur prefabricerade betongstommar av pelare och balkar montagestagas idag. Stommarna används främst till industri, offentliga samt kommersiella byggnader. Fokus är lagt på de två vanligaste balktyperna raka balkar med I-tvärsnitt samt sadelformade balkar med I-tvärsnitt.Vid montering av pelare- balksystem uppstår lastfall som man inte vill dimensionera elementen för. Stagning av konstruktionerna sker därför med hjälp av kolvning som kompletteras med wirekryss vid behov.  Resultatet har sammanställts i en enhetlig standard gällande utformning och dimensionering av montagestagning för prefabricerade betongstommar av pelare och balkar. Nyckelord: Montagestagning, Prefabricerade system, Raka och sadelformade balkar, kolvning, wirekryss.

I takt med att fler och fler informationskanaler flyttas från traditionella, människa-till-människa interaktioner till digitala kanaler ändras också de erfarenheter, färdigheter, kompetenser och tekniska utrustningar som krävs för att ta del av, och deltaga i, informationsflöden. Detta skapar grupper i samhället i form av de som har dessa erfarenhter, färdigheter, kompetenser och utrustningar, och de som inte har något av dessa, detta kallas för den digitala klyftan. Som visas i den här uppsatsen kan den digitala klyftan bestå av en eller flera mindre klyftor. En av den största gruppen människor som står på fel sida av klyftorna är äldre. Det finns olika sätt, metoder och teorier som har postulerats för hur den digitala klyftan kan överbryggas, i den här uppsatsen undersöks hur två olika standarder (WCAG 2.0 och E-delegationens riktlinjer) för tillgängliga webbplatser, och en standard med kompetenser för webbanvändning (The Web Literacy Standard, från The Mozilla Foundation) förhåller sig till gruppen äldre människor.

If P&C Insurance Company faces a challenge when their treasury system needs a new interface to a software as a service application. They need a suggestion for configuration for how the system and the application can work together. The work presented in this report is a suggestion for how you can make business configuration of an IT-based Treasury System in general. The exact configuration for the case received from If is presented as a separate report, found in Appendix A and is called the If-report. The If-report presents the suggested technical set-up of the configuration.

Swedish school has for the last decades been using quality management as a method for improvement. Quality management is an enormous work and the whole school staff needs to be involved. The management consists of several parts like planning, surveys and interviews, analysis of the replies and setting up new goals. Parents, children and teachers are nowadays accustomed with quality surveys. The last few years these quality surveys have been computerized, but they still look almost the same, using little interaction with the respondent.I have had the opportunity to work with the company KMF Ventures, which has a vision that entails a more interactive web survey.

My point of origin concerning this thesis was an interest for how school may develop students? reading comprehension. International surveys show that the results for Swedish students? performance regarding reading comprehension have declined and the current curriculum, Lgr-11, emphasizes the importance of incorporating this into all school subjects. The special teacher education programme has raised the awareness concerning the importance of including the students and that learning is achieved in an interactive setting.

This essay investigates the relation between ?usage? and ?hearing? of dialectal words and expressions in the Ryukyu islands, Japan, in this case words and expressions from a mix of Ryukyuan and standard Japanese, so called uchinaa-yamatoguchi. A survey was conducted and in the questionnaires the respondents were asked to fill in the degree of usage and hearing of each word and expression, consisting of three alternatives each; use often, use seldom and never used - hear often, hear seldom and never heard.My findings show a stable pattern in the relation between usage and hearing, where the usage is relatively low compared to hearing in almost every case. Among the most frequently used ones, one could find words and expressions connected to food, festivals, type of person, adjectives, adverb and animals etc..
