The city contains a great multitude of people of different ages and different lifestyles and the urban environment should be planned and designed for everyone to take part in the social life of the city. The main reason among people for heading towards the city centre is to make purchases or to run errands, but also the social aspects are very important. A socially active city is worth striving for as an empty city can lead to unsecurity, fear and hostility between people. This paper discusses mainly the possibilities to encourage people to do physical activities on public places in the city. In Sweden the lifestyle of people in general has changed to the worse in aspects of health over the last decades which has led to the fact that many people in Sweden today suffer from obesity.

Uppmärksamhet/övervakning (monitoring) är en viktig komponent vid utvecklandet och vidmakthållandet av insomni. Genom medveten närvaro (MN) kan förmågan att rikta uppmärksamheten tränas upp. Syftet med studien var att undersöka effekten av MN och beteendeterapi (BT) vid behandling av primär insomni hos personer med hög uppmärksamhet/övervakning av sömnrelaterade stimuli. Behandlingens effekt på sömn och uppmärksamhet samt en eventuell sekundär effekt på oro och ruminering undersöktes. En single-subject design med en konstruktiv strategi användes och två behandlingar gavs, där hälften av deltagarna fick BT och hälften fick BT+MN.

Introduction Every tenth patient in Sweden is affected by nosocomial infections. Among these, urinary tract infection (UTI) is the most frequently occurring within the hospital environment. Nosocomial infections lead to increasing costs for care, more suffering among the patients, increasing use of antibiotics, and longer treatment spells. The Academic hospital have engaged all wards in the so called VRISS-project (?nosocomial infections must be stopped?) in order to reduce the number of nosocomial infections.Aim In connection to the VRISS-project new routines for removal of uretrahl catheters are introduced at ward 70E2 at the Academic hospital.

Vår studie är gjord för att se om det finns någon skillnad i mellanstadieelevers beteenden i klassrum respektive idrottshall. Våra frågeställningar är: Finns det skillnader i beteendena hos mellanstadieelever i idrottshallen respektive i klassrummet? Finns det några skillnader mellan pojkars och flickors beteenden? Hur yttrar sig eventuella skillnader och vad beror de på? För att komma fram till detta har vi använt oss av observationer som metod och observerat årskurs fem-klasser på två olika skolor. I arbetet har vi kopplat vår empiri till Connells teori om hegemonisk maskulinitet och Goffmans beteendeteori Front-stage och backstage. Vi har också använt oss av behaviorismens grundläggande tankar om hur en miljö kan påverka ett beteende.

The problem being examined is the disturbing noise that is created in an open plan office on a company working with a creative process, such as a newspaper or a communications agency. The purpose of this study was to examine the needs for today for a sound absorber in open offices and create and design a design proposal. The aim is also to develop a marketing material the product proposal. The problem has been broken down into the following questions:- How does the user look at the need of a sound absorber in an open offices solution today?- Does an interior designer apply sound absorbers when they furnish the intended environment? - How can a design that meets the needs that exists be achieved and to speak the user?The study is based on three choice of methods a literature review on selected topics that relate to the topic, an interview with an interior designer to explore how an interior designer applies absorbers in open plan office and finally an extensive survey that treats the user's needs and appropriate appearance for the product proposal.The design process has undertaken the following methods, design brief, requirements specification, functional analysis and sketches to produce the final product proposal.

Tjänster är en växande marknad där bemanningsföretagen har fått en ökad betydelse bland annat beroende av marknadens höga krav på tillgänglighet och flexibilitet. I dagens samhälle är det viktigt att produkter och tjänster inte bara fyller en funktion utan också uttrycker och förmedlar rätt budskap till intressenterna. Design har därför fått en allt viktigare funktion inom företag som vill utmärka och särskilja sig. För att frambringa ett starkt och trovärdigt varumärke som differentierar sig gentemot konkurrenterna, borde skapandet av varumärket inkluderas i en designstrategi där kvaliteten på designen är väsentlig.Studien syftar till att skapa en tydligare bild om och på vilket sätt ett tjänsteföretag arbetar med designstrategi i en förändringsprocess och hur de når ut till målgruppen. Urvalet för denna studie är tjänsteföretaget Academic Work, kommunikationsbyrån Naked, som företaget har tagit hjälp av i framtagandet av det nya konceptet, och slutligen en av företagets utvalda målgrupper, studenter.

Humans have always been fascinated by the thought of bringing non living objects to life. We wanted to explore the possibilities of trying to create an artefact that the audience would consider possess emotional states and have a life of its own. TaS is a interactive chair that functions as a social entity. The idea is to try and enhance the bond between human and artefact, based upon the emotional connection. We try and produce, enhance and maintain this bond through curiosity based interaction. The main purpose of this bachelor thesis is to create a product in the form of a database that can be used for cost estimates of equipment within bio refineries. Through interviews and literature searches the key components and their costs were identified. The database was constructed in Microsoft Excel with different tabs for different categories of components; these tabs are further divided into three parts: one part with costs, one part with calculations and an information part. Most of the part with costs contains the expenses found in scientific papers during the literature study, the calculating part converts different capacities according to user preferences and the currency to euro (?) from 2010 and the information part consists of references and information about what is included in the cost.The database is a good tool for making cost estimates for bio refineries.

På grund av vårt stora och gemensamma intresse för konståkning valde vi att sätta upp en isshow i samarbete med Lunds konståkningsklubb. Rapporten behandlar hur det är att försöka leda ett projekt i en ideell förening samt tar upp vikten av kommunikation och ledarskap för att ett projekt ska lyckas. Den tar upp problem som uppstått under projektets gång och hurdana lösningar vi funnit till dessa problem. Vi har också undersökt hur man ljussätter en isyta och hur man går tillväga när föreställningen som ska ljussättas inte står färdig förrän dagen före premiär..

Detta projekt har skapat en design till en applikation, vars mål är att få människor i närnatur och samtidigt möjliggöra för dem att lära sig mer om den kulturhistoria denna natur har att bjuda.I projektet har designen till en guideapplikation för användning i miljö med kulturhistoriska arv undersökts och tagits fram. Projektet är en fallstudie och använder ramverket Minnesmark som en grund för designen.Designen är framtagen genom att använda en målinriktad designmetod och designprocess av Goodwin(2009). Med detta menas att personor och scenarier har varit de främsta verktygen för att generera krav till designen. Krav baseras även på ramverket Minnesmarks möjligheter och begränsningar. Vidare krav kommer även från intervjuer med två olika guider.En första design; en prototyp, utvärderades av åtta personer för att förbättra designen.

The main topic of this thesis is to evaluate the impact on the usability of web pages when using responsive web design, a concept for developing web pages whose design adapts to the screen size being used. This is done by creating a responsive prototype based on an existing web site. A number of usability tests are conducted on the two versions of the site in order to compare the time to complete the tests and to observe the behaviour of the test participants. The tests are conducted on desktop as well as on mobile devices with varying screen size.The number of test participants was relatively low, and so the quantitative result is not statistically valid. However, the conclusion is that the most effective combination is to use either of the sites on desktop format.

Ocean Modules Sweden AB is a small business active in the field of underwater technology. Thecompany was contacted by the Swedish Defense Materiel Administration (FMV) in order todevelop a new system that would conform to their specific requirements. Two students at theRoyal Institute of Technology (KTH) were consulted in conjunction of this project in order to aidthe development and conceptual design of the system.The primary users of the system are the divers of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal division (EOD)- a branch of the Swedish Armed Forces. The purpose of the product was to incorporate allnecessary functions required by the EOD divers into one single system. The main functions arecommunication between the surface operator and diver, video recording, still imaging, positioning,navigation and ocean floor mapping with sonar.

The purpose of this study was to examine leadership in the public sector based on leadership models, organizational factors, conditions and health of employees. The study was divided into sub-study one and two. In sub-study one the design was an observational study using cross sectional design in which 67 first line managers in the public sector answered a survey about conditions and leadership models. Sub-study two was an observational study using case-control design focusing on a health promoting leadership intervention in the municipal sector. Two semi-structured interviews and 41 surveys were collected.

Competition in the market of interior design during the last several years has drastically increased. The consumers of today are very conscious about what the market can offer and therefore they have high demands on the products. It is not only the function of the product that matters but also the design that makes a difference. Companies are becoming more aware of this and as a result they have to find a way to set themselves apart in order to attract customers. This realization has led designers and economists to cooperate in a different way than before.

SYFTESyftet med vår studie är att skapa en förståelse för hur de tre belysningsföretagen arbetar med ledarskap och design som en kreativ process för att ge en bild av hur ett ledarskap i designfokuserade företag kan se ut.METODUppsatsen har genomförts som en kvalitativ undersökning genom sammanlagt sex intervjuer. De tre armaturföretagen som valts ut är Bsweden, Zero och Örsjö Belysning. Fem stycken intervjuer ägde rum med personer på ledande positioner i dessa tre armaturföretag. En mejlintervju genomfördes även med en utomstående part.TEORIDelarna i teorin har delats upp på ledarskap, designstrategi och företagsamhet. För ledarskapsdelen tas ledarens roll upp, den kreativa ledarskapsstilen, ledning av kreativa individer och att leda designstrategi.
