AbstractAim: The aim of this study was to describe which coping strategies women use when they have been diagnosed with breast cancer. In addition, the purpose was to describe how woman?s self-image changes after a mastectomy. Method: A literature review study has been carried out with a descriptive design. The result of the study included 16 articles which were found in the databases: Cinahl, PubMed, PsycInfo and through manual search.

Background: Previous research has shown that the understanding and knowledge about the spiritual needs is not given high priority among nursing staff. During the latest years the body and its functions has controlled the healthcare and the spiritual needs has been placed in the background. All humans have spiritual needs that must be satisfied irrespective of religious background. Aim: The aim of this study was to in a caring perspective illustrate patients? spiritual and existential needs in palliative care.

In this paper my aim is to understand the trance movement from within as a collective phenomenon. I went to Turkey with my boyfriend David on a trance gathering, a festival called A Total Solar Eclipse Festival. There I did participant observations and interviews.Can Collins theory about interaction ritual be useful to raise the understanding? And is it fruitful to apply the term collective identity?The collective identity is build up by the festival as interaction ritual. It generates solidarity, emotional energy and a sense of belonging.In this paper I discuss different categories and symbols that the collective identity contains of.

This study is an attempt to investigate religious perceptions and its development, function and connection to religious practise within the Swedish extreme metal scene. This is performed mainly by a qualitative method of investigation, studying lyrical content published on a number of extreme metal albums, thereafter relating the lyrical progression to the progession of the scene as a whole and also to the development of individual religious belief and practise.The lyrically expressed manifestations of religiosity within the extreme metal scene prove to be related to religious practise in some cases, most visibly in the Christian parts of the scene.The study also indicates that development of religious expression often is evident regardless of religious preference. This development also regularly relates to an increase in musical evolution and prowess often achieved with increased age and maturity.Musically and lyrically, the extreme metal scene displays transgressive attributes which assist both individual and group in the process of creating identity, meaning and individuality.Experiencing extreme metal, in concert or in the privacy of one´s own home, can be one way of perceiving Spirituality in this modern age..

Relationen mellan sexualitet och andlighet har länge varit ett tabubelagt ämne inom såväl psykologin som i samhället i stort. Enligt aktuell forskning finns det dock anledning att trotsa denna motvilja. Syftet med studien var att undersöka om oandliga och andliga individer samt män och kvinnor skiljer sig åt vad gäller sexuell tillfredsställelse och sexuella behov samt effekten av mindfulness. Studien utfördes genom en delvis egenkonstruerad webbenkät för att mäta sexuell tillfredsställelse, andlighet och sexuella behov. Studien omfattade 213 deltagare varav 105 andliga, 76 män och 117 utövare av mindfulnessbaserade aktiviteter.

Aim: To describe nurses' experiences providing end of life care to patients. Method Descriptive literature study, 15 articles were included. The search was made in PubMed, CINAHL and by manual search. The articles were reviewed, analyzed and summarized. Results: For newly graduated nurses? experience in end of life care proved to be something new, developing, difficult to manage and frightening, but expected in the profession.

Over a long time psychology was focusing on human frailties and mental diseases. In 1998, positive psychology was introduced - the scientific study of strengths, well-being and optimal functioning. Theory and research in the area has identified 24 character strengths, in which each individual owns and celebrates a number of top strengths, signature strengths. These strengths have been shown to be important in achieving happiness and well-being. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between character strength and psychological well-being, job satisfaction, harmonious- and obsessive passion and stress.

Bakgrund: Patienter som genomgår en svår livskris, till exempel vid en livshotande sjukdom, kan uppleva ett andligt lidande. Det är viktigt att dessa patienter får stöd av sjuksköterskor som har kompetens i att uppmärksamma patientens andliga behov. Andlig omvårdnad höjer välbefinnandet för patienter som upplever andligt lidande. Andlig omvårdnad kännetecknas bland annat av aktivt lyssnande, relationsskapande, lyhördhet för patientens behov samt en öppen och ärlig kommunikation. Syfte: Studiens syfte var att utforska hur indiska sjuksköterskor svarade på de andliga behoven hos patienterna.

The aim of this essay is to investigate the attitudes towards religion and religious people held by a group of Swedish high school students. The main questions are; what causes these attitudes andhow do they shape the students? encounter with religion and religious people and in what way could religious education help the students problematize these attitudes?The method used is a quantitative method using a questionnaire, with a Likert scale, posing different questions about religion as such, world religion and religious people. The theoretical basis, in order to discuss the result of the questionnaire, is a gender theory and the theory of social psychology.The result of the study confirms earlier studies of youths both in Sweden and Western Europe. The result shows that there is a certain degree of negative attitudes towards religion, most of all againstIslam.

Introduction: Sexual abuse is more common than statistics show; the number of unrecorded cases is high. Sexual abuse is hard to deal with, it is associated with taboo and shame and at the same time it is a trauma to the one who has been abused which will effect the rest of that persons life. Aim: The aim of this literature review is to describe men and women?s experiences of being sexually abused. Method: A literature review, inspired by Friberg (2006), was conducted.

Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer which struck women around the world. When a human is exposed to threat or stress, e.g. breast cancer, different coping strategies are used in order to cope with the situation by the afflicted person. The aim of this literature study was to describe how women, who suffered from breast cancer, experienced coping with their situation. Scientific articles were found in the databases Medline (Pub Med) and Cinahl.

Med hjälp av denna vetenskapliga essä undersöker jag hur man kan uppmärksamma och värna leken och glädjen i musicerandet med förskolebarn. Detta belyser jag inte enbart ur barnens perspektiv utan även ur mitt eget och mina kollegors. Med hjälp av berättelser från min vardag på förskolan och utifrån min praktiska kunskap, ger jag en bild av hur detta kan te sig. Dessa berättelser är ett fundament för mina vidare reflektioner. Vad lek och leklust är skärskådar jag genom att bena upp begreppen i mindre beståndsdelar.

Background: Nurses´daily has to face death and dying in their work with patients in a palliative state.  This means both emotionell and workrelated challenges. However nurses in this context are not experiencing more stress then others.Aim: The aim is to describe nurses´experiences of caring for patients in a palliative state.Method: A litterature review based on ten qualitative articles published between 2006- 2012. To collect data we used the databases Cinahl, PubMed, Nursing Allied Health Source and Medline. We worked with Fribergs (2006) model ?Contribute to evidensbased care with a base in analyses of qualitative science? in the analysis.Result: Four main themes were identified; The meaning of the nurses´ Spirituality in the care, Why the nurse choose to work in this field, To be certain in the professional role and The meaning of the caring relationship.

Vi har inspirerats av en fenomenologisk ansats och intervjuat fyra personer som arbetar inom tolvstegsbehandling. Som intervjuform valde vi semistrukturerade intervjuer. Tidigare forskning visar att andlighet kan fylla en viktig funktion för att personer med missbruksproblem ska vara avhållssamma, men forskningen är oense om det är det andliga inslaget eller gemenskapen och det sociala stödet i AA som leder till ökad nykterhet bland dess deltagare.

Background: In previous studies on the subject hope it has been revealed that hope is an important condition for the experience of health, quality of life and well-being. In the literature hope is described as a great support in life that is vital for a person's life and for how the person manages to become afflicted with a fatal disease. Within palliative care the 6S: s is a person-centered model for care that is directed towards the promotion of patient´s participation, relief from suffering and enablement of well-being and support of the patient and his or her family members. Aim: To describe how patients find hope in their situation in palliative care, and to examine whether there is an interaction between the different dimensions of 6 S: s model and with patients' experiences of hope. Methods: This degree project is literature study.
