The aim of this thesis is to examine the historical use of "poison cabinets", or restricted shelves, in Swedish libraries. Drawing upon the theories of Mary Douglas and Michel Foucault, it also seeks to sketch a cultural and ideological context of the practice; with the emphasis on social or mental hygiene, and disciplinary aspects. Through qualitative interviews as well as digitalized recordings of librarians active during the first half of the 20th century, actual examples of poison cabinets are presented. A closer examination is conducted of past collections at Lund University Library, and two large public libraries situated in Växjö and Sigtuna. The essay also investigates views on library censorship, controversial literature, and other related subjects reflected in th elibrary press during the period 1916-1979.

Anorexi/Bulimi Nervosa drabbar framför allt flickor i åldern 11- 20 år. Varför vissa flickor utvecklar sjukdomen är okänt. Flera faktorer spelar in som till exempel en krissituation som uppstår i familjen, kommunikationsproblem, ett missnöje över sin egen kropp eller en försämrad självkänsla. Mödrarnas inverkan på döttrarna kan vara en anledning till att vissa flickor utvecklar Anorexi/Bulimi Nervosa. Syftet: Syftet med litteraturstudien var att belysa flickors utveckling av Anorexi/Bulimi Nervosa, med särskilt fokus på mödrars påverkan gällande kroppsuppfattning, mat, vikt och ätbeteende.

Under de senaste årtiondena har Nepal fått utstå gerillakrig, maktövertagande från flera olika håll samt en liten period av totalitärt styre. Landet har fler etniska grupper än de flesta andra länder och rymmer flertalet av världens religioner. I landets politiska sfär finns representanter för extrem höger såväl som extrem vänster, där både Marxister och Maoister i dag sitter med i regeringen. Mitt i detta finns journalister och medier, vars förutsättningar till fritt verkande denna uppsats ämnar undersöka.Är Nepals press fri att granska makten och fritt informera sina medborgare?Vilka hinder finns för pressfriheten, och vilka ämnen rapporteras det aldrig om?Denna studie baseras på kvalitativa intervjuer med ett antal nepalesiska journalister, för att komma närmare svaret på dessa frågor samt utröna teman och problem som vidare borde undersökas.Studien kommer att visa att Nepals journalister själva känner sig relativt fria, men kämpar med ett antal frågor och teman vilka det är svårt att rapportera om.

AimThe main aim of the study was to investigate the difference in bilateral deficit between rowers and sprinters during maximal eccentric/concentric muscle actions.? Are there any significant differences in bilateral deficit between rowers and sprinters?? Do the amount of years in practice effect the bilateral deficit?MethodFourteen male subject participants divided in 2 equal sized groups (7 individuals in each group; rowers and sprinters) performed maximal unilateral/bilateral eccentric and concentric muscle actions in a leg press machine at a velocity of 0.2m/s. The range of motion in the knee joint was 70° ? 140°. Dependent t-tests have been performed within each group pre and post test.

Today's consumers are demanding more and more from companies and are no longer as easy to im-press as they used to be. It is now the consumers that hold an increasing amount of power over com-panies and not the other way around. This change in consumer behaviour has caused an identity crisis for traditional advertising, and companies are now searching for new ways of reaching their target audience. The purpose of this combined qualitative and quantitative case study is to examine possible risks and possibilities that a retailing company face when communicating through Facebook. Data has been collected through in-depth interviews with company representatives combined with a quantitative study of the company's Facebook followers in order to answer the questions of (1) which possibilities and risks a retailing company face through the use of a Facebook fanpage and (2) if there is a differ-ence in the attitude and behaviour of active respectively passive followers that may have been caused by a retailing company's marketing communication on Facebook.

Studien fokuserar på Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR, och hur det implementeras i företag i Sverige. De tre typerna av företag; tjänsteföretag, varuproducerande företag och företag som erbjuder en blandning mellan en tjänst och en vara studeras i syfte att öka förståelsen för hur CSR implementeras.CSR handlar om företags sociala ansvarstagande, och rör frågor som miljö och etik. Konceptet är på frammarsch i Europa, och företags tycks känna en press att engagera sig i CSR-aktiviteter (Matten och Moon, 2008). Studiens teoretiska referensram baseras bland annat på Maignans et al (2005) modell om CSR-implementering.Åtta företag som arbetar aktivt med CSR-frågor är föremål för studien. Tre av företagen består av tjänsteföretag, tre är varuproducerande företag, och två består av företag som erbjuder en blandning mellan en vara och en tjänst.

Det finns en allmän uppfattning och en starkt förankrad föreställning om att kön är någonting statiskt som inte kan ifrågasättas eller ändras. Språk kan förmedla och upprätthålla diskriminerande åsikter och vara privilegierande för människor som är bekväma med, och följer rådande normer.I denna studie fokuseras prefixet cis-, som beskriver människor som lever som, och identifierar sig själva i enlighet med de normativa föreställningar som råder i samhället. Studiens teoretiska ramverk och metodologiskt tillvägagångssätt bygger på den kritiska diskursanalysen (CDA). Utvalda blogginlägg samt tidningstexter som berör prefixet cis- har analyserats för att få förståelse för vad prefixet cis- betyder för personerna som använder det. Som analysverktyg används innehållsanalys samt korpusanalys.Resultatet av undersökningen visar att ord med prefixet cis- främst används av två aktörer i samhället: transpersoner och feminister.

The purpose of this Masters thesis is to examine the debate concerning Agnes von Krusenstjernas Fröknarna von Pahlen-novels from a ideological analytic perspective. This debate came to be called The Krusenstjerna feud Krusenstjernafejden and was most intensive in the years 1934-35 after Porten vid Johannes and Älskande par had been published. We examine 8 articles using a text analytic method. We have limited ourselves to public material that is available in Swedish press and Swedish magazines. Our ambition is, through this, to determine the articles authors political point of view and ideas of preference.

En ny modernistisk syn på ledarskap började utvecklas i början på 1980 talet, där nya kommunikationsmönster för chefer lyfts fram. Den nya ledningsfilosofin betonar kommunikativt ledarskap framför traditionella strategiska kommunikationsmönster.Syftet med uppsatsen var att undersöka ledarskapet på en telemarketingavdelning med många unga medarbetare och se vilka metoder chefer nu använder sig av för att leda unga medarbetare. Fokus ligger på kommunikation, ledarskap och organisationskultur. En kvalitativ metod användes i form av intervjuer i kombination med observationer. Studien omfattade sju intervjuer och urvalet var ändamålsenligt.

This essay examines a presupposed correlation between the way one look upon values and the way one look upon the will of the people in a theoretical democratic context. The more specific purpose is to test the following hypothesis: There is a reversed connection between the way one look upon values and the way one look upon the will of the people in a theoretical democratic context, that is; a strong claim of values give reason to a limited conception of the will of the people and a weak claim of values gives reason for a more unlimited conception of the will of the people.In order to test the hypothesis I examine three different conceptions of democracy, these are: pluralist democracy, deliberative democracy and constitutional democracy. I analyze the way they look upon values, there view of the will of the people and finally if there is a connection between the way they look upon values and the will of the people. Values should be understood in a metaethical context. In other words it is not values in the ?common? meaning, instead its how val-ues in them selves should be understood, and even more relevant, what we mean when we ex-press values.My conclusions are, first and foremost, that there is a correlation between the will of the people and values, according to the formulation of the hypothesis.

But in what extent do loanwords from the English vocabulary occur in texts written by Swedish sportjournalists, in what types of texts they can be found. And also why the usage of loanwords occur.The purpose of our study is to find out how frequent English loanwords are in Swedish sports journalism.

The aim of this thesis is to examine the debate in Swedish library press concerning privatization of public libraries. The aim of the thesis stems from a desire to know whether Swedish librarians, as has been alleged in contemporary right wing debate, are politically biased and adherents of socialism. The debate is analysed using the method of idea and ideology analysis, using the tool of ideal types of the ideologies socialism and neo- liberalism. As material I have chosen articles from the magazines Biblioteksbladet and DIK Forum, from the years 1989 to 2010. The reason for choosing the topic of privatization is that it is a controversial question and a topic one could expect to generate a heated debate.Four positions can be discerned in the debate.

The purpose of this essay is to study the two cases ?The hijacking of a bus in Årdal? & ?The double murder in Ljungsbro? from media ethics aspects.  The aim for this study is to clear up if the the Swedish newspapers have reported according to the mediaethic rules and to see if there is any differences between the newspapers reporting. The following theories has been used to reach the objective: the journalism task, news values, the liberty of press and speach, media ethical rules and discursive discrimination. The study has used a critical discourse method formed by Teun a. van Dijk to analyse the material, mainly through macro- and microstructures.
