Arbetar man med att planera våra offentliga rum har man förhoppningsvis inställningen att dessa rum ska stimulera alla sinnen. För att kunna göra detta måste man veta vad det är som behöver stimuleras. Boverket, den nationella myndigheten för frågor om samhällsplanering, stads- och bebyggelseutveckling, byggande och förvaltning och för bostadsfrågor, är en av de instanser som arbetar för att planera för alla sinnen. Dock ligger fokus fortfarande på att minska de negativa intrycken, och göra platser tillgängliga, till exempel att minska buller, och bygga ledstråk. Att alla sinnena och alla delar av sinnena stimuleras på ett positivt sätt är viktigt, särskilt för barn då deras utveckling är avhängigt det.

This paper is finishing part of the two-year master programme in Industrial Engineering and Management.Initially there was an inquiry of studying the queue-times that Fläkt Woods uses when they break down internal working orders. These times were assumed to be too generalised and does not apply to the actual value of the queue-times which generates incorrect data and delivery delays. During the work of this paper it has been established that it is not the queue-times that is the biggest problem. The problem is the shop floor control and the lack of manufacturing the right products at the right time. Therefore an analysis of the production planning process was made to bring forward the real problems.

The aim of this thesis is to investigate how a valuation model of a Private Equity firm is interpreted into a management control system within the company's different organizational levels. A case study was developed based on the infra-net company Eltel. The management control systems developed by Malmi and Brown (2008)(1) was used to characterize the control systems at each organizational level. The building blocks of this system are planning, cybernetic, reward/compensation, administrative and culture. Miller and O'Learys (2007)(2) theory of mediating instruments and technology roadmaps was applied to analyze the mediating process of the valuation model.

This thesis provides a comparison of the old Planning and Building act (PBA) from 1987 with the new PBA, which entered into force in May 2011. The essay consists of a descriptive part that presents the regulation of both laws. The new PBA consists of several differences compared to previous regulation. This thesis will, however, primarily be centred around the regulation regarding building permit appeals and the possibility of building permit, to gain legal force.In the old PBL, there were no regulations that result in a building permit decision could be made effective. Instead, a building permit could, long after the decision had been made, be over-challenged.

Syftet med detta arbete har varit att analysera hur offentliga rum förändras i samband med omfattande stadsutveckling. Arbetet ska ge upphov till ny kunskap för hur offentliga rum i framtida nyetableringar och i närliggande bebyggelse kommer att användas. Det offentliga rummets användande har studerats i en litteraturstudie och i en empiri över Sundsvalls tätort. Sundsvall valdes som empiri eftersom staden står inför två spännande stadsbyggnadsprojekt i direkt geografisk anknytning till stadens centrum. Detta tillsammans med att Sundsvalls centrum, Stenstaden, är ett väldefinierat stadscentrum, som är tydlig i sin struktur, gör att staden fungerar bra som fallstudie.

Densification is one of the urban visions for sustainable development - a vision that has become a part of the solution to the unsustainable sake dilemma. With the dense city land will be saved, energy consumption reduced and social cohesion improved. The dense city is considered to be ecologically, economically and socially sustainable. Applying an urban design concept has thus proven to be problematic. Density has been found to be a complex concept which is far more complicated than measuring how much built surface that needs to be covered. It is also not disputed what different degrees of densification mean and whether densification in itself is sustainable.

Kandidatarbetet förtätningsargument är en jämförande studie mellan Karlskrona, Lund och Helsingborg kommuns översiktsplaner. Där har argumenten som berör förtätning granskats med hjälp av innehållsanalys och komparativ metod. Syftet med kandidatarbetet är att belysa tendenser som finns inom den kommunala planeringsretoriken som handlar om förtätning. Arbetet syftar även till att tydliggöra skillnader och eller likheter mellan kommuners argument för förtätning. I kandidatarbetet granskas vilka kategorier av förtätningsargument som används i kommuners översiktsplaner och hur förhållandet ser ut mellan argumenten för förtätning respektive mot förtätning. Nuvarande argumentering för förtätning i översiktsplanerna jämförs med Johan Rådbergs definition av de tidigare stadsbyggnadsdoktrinerna, regularism, trädgårdsstaden och funktionalism.

In 2005 Gunhild Eriksdotter published Behind The Facades in which she analyses the ways of approaching historical buildings in archaeology. Eriksdotter emphasizes that the archaeology of buildings is in dire need of renewal videlicet the traditional outlook on buildings as two-dimensional objects need to change. She develops a method of analysing the spatial dimensions in a three-dimensional world. By fusing theories and methods in excavating archaeology and architecture, she is able to give us a new way of approaching buildings. Her method includes the analysing of a buildings material, spatiality and use.

The purpose is to understand the planning process for residential buildings and toinvestigate the consequences of the choices made in the process. The project will alsoprovide broader knowledge in the design and development under the current law andpractice.The goal is to present a proposal on how a city near the site where water can bedesigned from a sustainable perspective. To make it easier for forestry planning the forest owners needs data which describe characteristics of the forest. Such data you usually get from some type of inventory. A relatively new technology which probably is getting more important in the future, is laser scanning because of lower costs. But because the laser technology is relatively new you need to compare it with conventional inventory technologies to get better understanding of the possibilities the laser technology gives. This work intends to estimate field measured characteristics of the forest from laser data with help of regression analysis and then see which of the field measured properties that best could be estimated and which laser variables that gave the best results. This study shows that heights has the best estimates, but biomass, diameter and volume also gives good estimates.
