This study begins in a previous benchmarking study made by one of Sweden?s teachers unions Lärarförbundet. This is a statistical study that ranked the Swedish municipalities against each other?s according to their accomplishments in a number of areas related to their school systems.

This is the end report of my final exam at Medieteknik. It covers the planning, work process and review of a Flash based web application that I set out to do. The goal was to create a user friendly, interactive e-shop with embedded functionality for playing music, displaying rich media content and researching possible payment solutions, to enable buying music files online. The project involved creating the user interface, the programmatic functionality of a Flash client (an SWF file). Also, setting up an Apache HTTP Server and establishing a working ?bridge? between the Flash client and the web server with Flash Remoting components and AMFPHP.

In the urban planning debate of today, two strategies for city development stand out as each other's opposites, urban sprawl and smart growth. This thesis concerns a development project of the latter kind and aims to give an alternative proposal to new buildings and a park in a Swedish city block. The term sprawl is used for new developments on virgin soil on the outskirts of cities leading to a city spreading, while smart growth stand for increased city density through development on re-used land within the city boundaries. The latter are often seen as more sustainable in many levels and are also shown to have positive effects on a number of city functions. At the same time smart growth has negative consequences on other aspects of the city such as public open spaces.

Syftet med studien var att beskriva hur kvinnor och män upplevde naturlig familjeplanering (NFP) samt vilken kunskap sjuksköterskan hade om NFP och när hon kunde använda sig av den i sin profession. Artiklar valdes ut från databaserna Elin, Pub Med och Blackwell synergy. De sökord som användes var NFP, Catholic, Satisfaction, Awareness, Odeblad, Billing, Billings, Nurse, Pregnancy, Birthcontrol, Family, Mucus, Family planning, Natural family planning och Ovulation. Sammanlagt valdes 18 artiklar ut varav 14 användes i resultatet. Två artiklar till resultatet söktes manuellt och beställdes.

Holmen Skog is currently using a GPS-program called TraktInfo, originally developed within the company. They are now planning to switch to a new GPSprogram or allowing the contractors to buy other programs available from the logging equipment manufacturers. To be able to offer this flexibility, Holmen Skog needs to obtain information about the features offered by the different manufacturers in their specific programs, and also when the manufacturers are planning to start selling programs adapted to the new standard called StanFord2010. According to the study, the manufacturers are hesitant to StanFord2010 and there has also been a lack of clear signals from the customers and clients about what kind of different new features to include in the programs. The feature most frequently used by forest machine operators today is the option to keep record of the harvester?s path by creating a ?log plot?. This feature was not used to its full potential however, since only one out of eight of the forwarders included in the study had computers that were compatible with the harvester?s computer.

The purpose with this thesis is to investigate how a number of municipalities in Stockholm County proceed when they allocate land and establish land allocation agreements for exploitation, and to investigate how a number of municipalities define land allocations and land allocation agreements on the occasion of public land sales. The aim of this thesis is to describe the allocation methods a municipally uses when they offer land for sale and to give an insight regarding which correlation different land allocation agreements have in different municipalities.Methods used are: (1) a literature review where the underlying theory for land allocations and land allocation agreements have been studied; (2) a questionnaire have been done to complement the literature review and to provide a picture of how a number of different municipalities in Stockholm County use and apply land allocations; (3) an agreement audit have been done to see the extent to which different agreement terms exists.Responses from the questionnaire, together with the definitions form different municipality?s land allocation policies and the literature review, resulted in a definition of a land allocation and a land allocation agreement. The agreement audit shows that agreement terms regarding: price or price indication, location, cost-sharing and planning costs are the most common agreement terms within the municipalities we have investigated.The study suggests that there is some confusion regarding land allocation agreements and the meaning of these, that became apparent when agreements where gathered, despite a careful explanation that it was land allocation agreements we requested, we still got exploitation agreements and purchase agreements. Therefore, we consider it necessary with an official definition of a land allocation agreement well anchored in the Planning and Building Act together with the rules of development agreements or other legislation.That there is a lack of research within the subject becomes evident when reports, essays, and other literature generally refers so the same sources.Keywords: land allocation, land allocation agreement and public land sales.

This master thesis was performed at Scania Research & Development. The given mission was to see where the department Systems Development should focus to improve their development work. Thus the purpose was to map the product development processes in which the department works today and within them identify improvements. To fulfil the purpose a theoretical study of relevant terms, such as improvement work, product development and processes, initially was formed. The mapping method used is called "walk trough" and meant to let the people working in the processes be guides in their own process.

This master thesis is about sustainable city planning and its debate. It is also concerned with networking, communication and web-based communication. Theories of sustainable development are discussed, along with the importance of communication for sustainable development. The report is directed towards landscape architects, architects, town planners, other designers and other interested readers.MotivationI believe that there is a need for an increased discussion concerning sustainability. Sustainable development is an important issue for city planners.

During the winter 2011 Isaksson and Andersson did a time budget study on Nordens Ark?s Przewalskis horses during daytime when there were visitors and caretakers in the park. This time budget study was made during daytime and when there were no visitors or caretakers in the park. The horses where observed in the morning (5.30-6.30 am) and in the evening (5.45-6.45 pm) during four days. In addition to a time budget, the horses? positions in the enclosure were registered.

Syftet med detta examensarbete har varit att undersöka om det finns en allmängiltig uppfattning kring vad som kännetecknar god stadsmiljö, eftersom det i planeringssammanhang ofta talas om god stadsmiljö och attraktivitet på ett sätt som tycks förutsätta att så är fallet. Skillnader i uppfattningar och föreställningar kan vara grundade i olika faktorer och i examensarbetet har skillnader möjliga att relatera till genus och ålder studerats. Genom en fallstudie i Kiruna har delar av resultatet från en, av Kiruna kommun, tidigare genomförd enkätundersökning analyserats vidare för att utreda om det bland de Kirunabor som besvarat enkäten finns skillnader som är möjliga att relatera till genus eller ålder. Fallstudien, som geografiskt sett avgränsats till Kirunas centrala stadsmiljö, har byggts upp kring jämförande diskursanalyser där åtta olika respondentgruppers svar på åtta olika frågor har studerats och jämförts med varandra. Jämförelserna har grundats på vilka byggnader och platser respondenterna lyft fram i sina svar samt på vad de haft för åsikter om Kirunas stadsmiljö.

Stockholm has in recent years experienced a strong population increase but despite that fact, the demand for housing has not been followed by enough housing contracts. According to forecasts, growth in population will further be continued upward. With more condominiums than rental units on the market, new apartments are too expensive to live in. This creates unsustainable problems for those in lower classes of society. Creating a housing market in the periphery of Stockholm is not sustainable from a social perspective.

Offentliga platser i städer är viktiga för att människor ska kunna mötas men även av demokratiska skäl. Det offentliga livet har utspelat sig på olika sätt under historien och i dag präglas stadsutvecklingen av en neoliberalistisk inriktad planering och politik. En trend i denna utveckling är att offentliga ytor privatiseras och förvaltas av privata aktörer. Detta arbete fokuserar på hur privatisering av offentliga platser kan beskrivas utifrån ett planerings- och maktperspektiv. Syftet är att undersöka hur privatisering av offentliga platser legitimeras och styrs av olika aktörer i en detaljplaneprocess samt vilken påverkan omgestaltning får över det offentliga livet på platsen.

The purpose with this thesis is to investigate how to design a urban space so that it is experienced safe and how to implement this at an actual site. Knowledge on the subject has been gathered through litterature studies and interviews with experts. Through an analysis of the site with surroundings and studies of projects with similar problems, practical actions have been observed. Part taking in the municipalities planning process has given insight in the projekt as an whole and the interests of different parties. There are many different opinions about what the word safety means. It is a feeling depending on situation, that is affecting our daily behaviour.

I detta arbete har järnvägens effekter som trafiksystem studerats och vad samhället Torsås anbelangar är det tydligt att stora möjligheter kan skapas med en återupprättad spårbunden trafik. Grundförutsättningarna för kommunen och samhället skulle förändras drastiskt, både på lokal, regional och nationell nivå. Både kapaciteten att komplettera sin omvärld såväl som att kunna konkurrera med den, skulle ge samhället och kommunen ett helt nytt utgångsläge för att utvecklas och växa. En järnvägssträckning mellan Karlskrona och Kalmar kan i dagens läge te sig avlägset och vissa viktiga aspekter har också lämnats utanför denna avhandling. Dock visar arbetet de stora möjligheterna, fördelarna och vinsterna av en järnväg för kommunens invånare. Men även för samhället Torsås fysiska struktur öppnas nya dörrar genom möjligheterna att skapa nya lösningar för platser, stråk och boenden som kan präglas av det moderna, kretsloppsbaserade och hållbara samhället kommunen vill skapa. Att i framtiden förbättra den globala klimatsituationen, de nationella miljöproblemen, de regionala arbetsmarknaderna, den lokala livsmiljön samt individens möjligheter är en mycket stor utmaning. I många aspekter kan den antas inom ramarna för fysisk planering.

The problems around and the planning of wood flow is some of the most complex issues in the forest-sector. The experience and overview of the single employees is crucial for the possibility of correct tactical and economical decision-making. The increasing demand of savings and shorter reaction-times with greater flexibility in the wood-supply-chain, makes solutions and aids for improved effectiveness in the work and processes according to wood-flow urgent. Holmen Skog is starting to develop a new forest-road-management-system. The system will facilitate the work according to construction, improvements and updating the standard of roads.
