Detta kandidatarbetet har gjorts med syftet att förbättra Drottningtorgets kvaliteter ur främst ett estetiskt och funktionellt perspektiv och detta genom att studera den rådande problematiken och förutsättningarna på platsen samt med bakgrund av teoretiska utgångspunkter. Arbetet inleds med teorier från respekterade namn inom stadsbyggnad, fortsätter med inventeringar av platsen och avslutas med ett gestaltningsförlag som skapats i syfte att avlägsna den rådande problematiken samt med bakgrund av de teorier och förutsättningar som diskuterats. I förslaget har stor hänsyn tagits till människors rörelse och olika grepp har tagits i planen för att erbjuda passerande sittmöjlighet i attraktiv miljö och tillhandahålla gröna områden för rekreation..

The subject of this Master?s thesis is the process of change in a public library context, the implementation of the Stockholm City Library?s homepage Biblioteket.se. The aim is to examine the factors that influence this particular change and how they affect the process and extent of change in practice. The study designed as a qualitative case study is based primarily on document analysis, and supplemented by an interview. DiMaggio?s and Powell?s three mechanisms of change; coercive, mimetic and normative isomorphism, is applied.

The purpose of this thesis was to investigate the implications and challenges of intercultural communication. An in-depth study was performed of the perspectives from people who work within an international organization. How they experience cultural differences and how they handle them, in particular when it comes to communication. Also, their perceptions of communicative competence were explored. The study was carried out at Svalorna India Bangladesh, at the Swedish office in Lund.

The reason for performing an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is to incorporate environmental concern in different kinds of plans and projects. The purpose of such an assessment is to identify and describe direct, indirect and cumulative environmental impacts.Geographical Information System (GIS) is a tool that can be used to combine spatial extension of both sensitive areas and different environmental impacts in a quick and easy way. Because of that, descriptions of environmental impacts and motivation of different standpoints on a specific issue can be more correct and easier to make if GIS is used as a tool.Hence, GIS can contribute to improve the quality of Environmental Impact Assessments. If the benefits of using GIS are to out weight the costs, geographical information of satisfactory detail, actuality and accuracy need to be available at reasonable prices.In this paper, case studies are carried out for three different geographical analyses to investigate the use of GIS as a tool in EIA. From these case studies, more general conclusions about the benefits and limitations of using GIS for Environmental Impact Assessments are also drawn.

Mental illness in school ? A counselors perspective - The purpose of the study is to examine school counselors work with students (13- 15 years of age) who are struggling with mental illness. Focus on mental illness is discussed in a school context. From the school counselors perspective questions like, what kind of working methods are they using and, how they collaborate are examined. The research design is based on a qualitative approach, with ten Semistructured interviews with ten different informants who work as a counsellor at 10 different schools around Skåne.

In relation to the development of IT-products it is very important that the software supplier is aware not only of the target group but also the field of application. Usability should characterize the whole IT-design process as, in relation to this context, design includes more than merely those aspects which are visible to and thus can be interpreted by the naked eye. The study examines the specific qualities and properties that substantiate the usability and the demands that a customer rightfully expects from an IT-product. The user and the customer are highlighted in the same context in order to demonstrate that it is through the customer that an IT-product is defined as being useful. Thus, from this perspective, the user and customer can be considered as being the same person.

Arbetes syfte är att resultera i ett planförslag för Pottholmen och svara på tre frågeställningar som behandlar översvämningsrisk, tillgången till offentliga och mer privata delar och möjligheten till ökad vattenkontakt. För att få en förståelse för Pottholmen har jag använt mig av metoden realistisk stadsanalys. Jag har även använt mig av Kevin Lynch begrepp för att kartera området. Resultatet av arbetet blev ett planförslag över ett nytt område som är intressant att röra sig genom tack vare användningen av Gordon Cullens teori om serial vision och som är uppbyggt av både offentliga, halvoffentliga och halvprivata rum enligt Jan Gehls teorier..

Hur samverkar de nationella folkhälsomålen med fysisk planering, och på vilket sätt kan folkhälsomålen beaktas för att förbättra förutsättningarna för ökad fysisk aktivitet hos barn? Denna studie är en fallstudie i Hjo kommun. Studien tar utgångspunkt i kommunens folkhälsoproblematik som visar att det finns en hög förekomst av övervikt hos barn. Intentionen är att undersöka vilka organisatoriska processer som kan underbygga det kommunala arbetet med folkhälsomålen, liksom att ta reda på vilka faktorer i den fysiska miljön som skapar förutsättningar för barns fysiska aktivitet. Avsikten med studien har varit att skapa ett underlag för Hjo kommuns översiktliga planering.

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate respectability and the construction of ?free love? in Swedish feminist debater and playwright Frida Stéenhoff?s (1865?1945) drama Lejonets unge (1896). In 1897 the first production of the drama was set in the small town of Sundsvall in Sweden and caused a public storm be-cause of its plea for free love for both men and women.Through an intersectional perspective, where the axes of class, gender, sexual-ity, religion, nationality and age are central and with a starting point in Beverly Skegg?s concept ?respectability? I investigate how ?free love? is constructed in the drama. I also link the construction of ?free love? to the historical context of the debate concerning sexual morality and marriage which was intense in society and literature in Scandinavia in the late 19th century.In the drama the plea for ?free love? is created mainly through the character Saga Leire.

Syftet med arbetet är att undersöka hur Eskilstunas centrala stadstorg, Fristadstorget, kan bli mer inbjudande och attraktivt då det idag råder en vedertagen syn bland medborgare och kommun att torget inte är inbjudande nog. Torget brukas inte i den utsträckning som stadens publika vardagsrum kan och bör göras. För att möjliggöra en ökad användning och uppskattning bör torget omvandlads, och det flexibelt. Arbetet är indelat i tre huvuddelar som leder fram till ett gestaltningsförslag vilket konkretiserar hur Fristadstorget kan göras både flexibelt samt inbjuda till en mer vardaglig användning då den flexibla ytan inte fylls av ytkrävande evenemang. Öppna och omöblerade platser har sällan någon dragningskraft och alstrar inte folkliv och attraktivitet, därav uppstår problematik i planeringen av stortorg för de dagar flexibiliteten inte nyttjas fullt ut. Arbetet är en fallstudie som belyser det generella genom att se till det enskilda fallet för att ge svar på varför det efterfrågade i undersökningen inträffar (brist på attraktivitet och låg användning).

Idag finns det en påtaglig vilja hos olika aktörer att formulera vad som är attraktivt i den fysiska miljön. Uttrycket attraktivt används i ett flertal plandokument och ges ut som praxis av bland annat Boverket. Men vad innebär attraktiva miljöer och vad betraktas egentligen som tilltalande och motbjudande i den fysiska miljön? Rådande planeringsideal handlar till stor del om täta stadsstrukturer och om en blandning av olika funktioner ? något som förutsätts skapa attraktiva värden. Planeringsidealet har uppkommit som reaktion mot modernismens ensidiga uttryck och för närvarande blickar många arkitekter och planerare tillbaka till 1800-talets mångfunktionella stadsform där bostäder, handel och arbetsplatser uppfördes inom ett och samma område.

AbstractThe aim of the research presented in this thesis is to study how interactional strategies are used by children and what these strategies mean or imply in the preschool cultural context. The theoretical point of departure in the study is the socio-cultural perspective (William Corsaro, Roger Säljö, Jim Wertsch). The study is a contribution to the field of research that focuses upon contextual issues and an overall way of seeing the child. This is in opposition to the strong traditional psychological perspective in the development of the child, where a focus upon the individual dominates in special education. This ethnographic study aims to answer the following research questions; What interactional strategies are co-constructed by the children in preschool play? How do the interactional strategies influence the creation of culture in preschool play? The children, 3-5 years olds, and their play situation were in focus.

AbstractA useful tool for companies to use in their differentiation process is proposed to be employee branding. Employee branding is developed and put forth by the management with the main task to formulate the brands vision and values, and communicate them to the employees. To promote the employee engagement and their relationship with the company, corporate storytelling can be applied, with is an internal communication that strengthens the internal rumour and values that represent the brand. Since engagement and motivation is important factors when creating a strong employee brand, there is a need for further research on how corporate storytelling is used by companies to influence employee engagement and motivation, as corporate storytelling leads to deeper commitment among employees.PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to explore how companies use corporate storytelling to influence their employee branding.MethodologyThe authors conducted a qualitative case study on how the retail organization Boomerang. The empirical material was collected thru semi-structured interviews with Boomerangs management and employees.ConclusionThe conclusion shows that the employees prefers when corporate storytelling and various communication is put in context, this because it?s easier for the employees to understand.

My essay is concerned with intercultural leadership and practical knowledge. The essay is about ethical dilemmas and the diversity of issues we face constantly at the preschool. In my story I examine the different views of knowledge and the opportunities to lead people in an intercultural way, and how they relate to each other. I start by looking at the ethical ideas that form the basis for our actions and our view of knowledge. Then, I examine how the practical wisdom guides the ethical dilemmas that arise at the preschool.
