Miljonprogrammet genomfördes mellan år 1965 och 1975 med syfte att bygga bort den rådande bostadsbristen. Under en tioårsperiod skulle en miljon nya bostäder byggas. Målet uppfylldes och cirka 25 % av Sveriges bostäder återfinns idag i miljonprogramsområden. Kritiken mot de storskaliga miljonprogramsområdena har varit stark. En förnyelse och utveckling av miljonprogramsområdena är därför en angelägenhet i många av Sveriges städer idag. Den primära uppgiften har varit att presentera åtgärder med syfte att förbättra storskaliga miljonprogramsområden. Uppsatsen behandlar enbart den fysiska miljön i miljonprogrammets storskaliga bostadsområden.

A new system of public transportation that can simplify and shorten the trips made throughout the city, anddo that both cheap and environment-friendly. Sounds like good news. This new system, though, require anall new type of infrastructure, differing from what we are used to see in our cities. Podcar, or PRT, as thesystem is called can become a transport revolution, possibly. If that revolution does happen it is crucial that webeforehand have studied the possible effects it can cause on our city environment, from a spatial point of view.This thesis thoroughly describes the function and essence of the PRT system and presents what is availabletoday and in what forms.

Bostadsbyggandet i Sverige idag präglas av ett fåtal större företag som producerar relativt standardiserade bostäder. Möjligheterna för den enskilda boende att påverka sitt framtida boende med avseende på planlösning och utformning är begränsade samtidigt som nya krav på bostäder uppkommer: familjekonstellationer ändras, kärnfamiljen är inte längre en självklarhet och miljö- och klimatfrågor vinner mark. Deltagande räknas som en av grundförutsättningarna för en av dimensionerna för hållbar utveckling; social hållbarhet. Social hållbarhet handlar om att bygga ett långsiktigt och dynamiskt samhälle och att trygga människors förutsättningar för sina grundläggande mänskliga behov. Att planera och bygga i en grupp, en så kallad byggemenskap, är ett fenomen som förekommer i flera länder i Europa och även i ett begränsat antal exempel i Sverige.

Den här studien är ett examensarbete inom informationsdesign med inriktning rumslig gestaltning. Arbetet omfattar tio veckor av studier som har resulterat i en rapport samt ett gestaltningsförslag. Fokus i studien har varit på att undersöka vilka funktioner som bör tydliggöras i väntrummet på ungdomshälsan i Uppsala. Efter litteraturstudier och insamling av empirisk data har ett designförslag tagits fram. I designförslaget har väntrumsytan utökats.

Boendesegregationen i våra svenska städer är ett problem som ökar. Den fysiska planeringen är en faktor som påverkar hur väl stadsdelar är fysiskt integrerade med varandra. Olika planeringsideal leder till skilda typer av fysiska strukturer, och i stadsbyggnadsprojekt finns idag visioner om att koppla samman fysiskt och socialt segregerade stadsdelar med den nya strukturen. Målet är att bidra till en ökad integration, såväl fysiskt som socialt. Syftet med arbetet har varit att studera två sådana aktuella projekt, H+ i Helsingborg och Hyllie i Malmö, för att se vilka fysiska strukturer och arbetssätt som förordas och vad de ser för möjligheter och begränsningar att genomföra visionerna. En diskursanalys med visionsdokument och intervjuer med projektdeltagare som grund genomfördes, för att se på vilket sätt det talas om att den fysiska planeringen kan bidra till integration.

This thesis focus on the presentation of the filmic room the viewer sees in George A. Romero´s three horror classics Night, Dawn and Day of the Dead. The hypothesis goes as follow; fear and element of tension becomes greater if the audience/viewer has a good knowledge about the filmic room in the film, in other words, a good spatial awareness. The conclusion is that it does. The environment is active in its becoming and in its presentation to the viewer.

I have studied the curriculum for the compulsory Swedish school, from the curriculum from year 1962 when the Swedish grundskolan became a reality, to the curriculum from year 1994, the one in practice today. My primary interest has been what the curriculum says about bringing up the Swedish youth. My theory has been the British analyst Norman Fairclough?s Critical Language Studies. His thoughts about actual discourse, type of discourse and order of discourse has led me through out this essay.

I många svenska städer går det att upptäcka fenomenet av det peri-urbana landskapet och en planering som strävar efter en expansiv stadsutveckling. Det är ett hybridlandskap, en expanderad stad där skillnaden mellan stad och land inte existerar i form av en exakt gränslinje. Staden innehåller samtidigt miljöer och platser, i flera fall centralt belägna som tenderar att glömmas bort, åsidosättas eller placeras i ett väntans läge vid planering. Dessa tomma ytor och håligheter utan definierad funktion är platser som befinner sig i ett gränsland - mellan det planerade och det oplanerade, vilket påverkar den angränsande bebyggelsen och marken. Detta ger upphov till arbetets tema - rum i marginal, mellanrum som blir en outnyttjad resurs vid planering.

Basedata for the thesis have been collected during meetings, telephone interviews and e-mails.Additional data was collected from public available sources such as the internet, relevantprofessional magazines and professional newsletters. This exam essay will look at dyslexia, dyscalculia and the connections that may exist between these two phenomena. My purpose, from the beginning, was to investigate if there might be any connections between dyslexia and dyscalculia, or if the consequences that appear as a result of dyslexia, might lead to problems and difficulties in mathematics.   I found it very hard to find literature that deal with dyscalculia, both as a subject of its own and together with dyslexia. Therefore, I was more or less forced to focus on difficulties in mathematics as a result from dyslexia.   From what I have found, dyslexia and dyscalculia cannot be connected, at least not without more research on the subject. Two consequences; an impaired short-term memory and also an impaired spatial ability are both common, both for persons with dyslexia and for persons with dyscalculia. Other than these, there are no connections, apart from the difficulties in mathematics that are directly, or indirectly, caused by dyslexia..

Snow White is one of the most popular fairytales to our time. There has been much research on the subject. `Lips red as blood- a structural analysis of Christian symbols´ in Walt Disneys and Rupert Sanders versions of Snow White` by Emma Svanström aims not to give a final answer to how Snow White should be interpreted. But rather the objective is to examine two versions in the search for any possible Christian influences and changes in such over time. The two versions are Walt Disney?s Snow white and the seven dwarfs and Rupert Sanders Snow White and the huntsman.

Uppsatsen Kampen om staden - En prövning av gränser undersöker relationen mellan den olagliga fasadkonsten och den lagliga fasadkonsten samt konstinstitutioner i Malmös centrala delar. Studien bygger på en icke-deltagande observation där målpunkter för de tre enheterna identifieras och kartläggs. Stadsvandringen mellan målpunkterna är slumpmässig för att pröva om graffiti uppstår utanför sina målpunkter. Detta för att undersöka om graffitin prövar de andra enheterna i det offentliga rummet. Diskussion av resultatet belyses genom teori kring offentliga rum, territorium skapande i staden, stadens rytm och process samt planerarens och arkitektens roll i skapandet av offentliga rum.
